Endeavor's personal growth is quite something. He understands his mistakes, apologized, and is working to be better. He does not make excuses for his behavior, and in reality he was an immature father. Rei was also immature, that does NOT PERMIT VIOLENCE AGAINST YOUR SPOUSE! Like that's not how you handle stuff and I like that the family is coming together to fight the problem. That's what they should have been doing all along.

Great episode, full of emotions.
Holy sht Todoroki's family background was full rage, egoism, rape and resentment, all cause by Endevour, a very serious and deep sitiation if it was in real life

That was a pretty screwed up ep even by Japan standards.

1. Nobody is mentioning that Hawks murdered a guy, that still doesn't matter to anybody somehow and he never even thinks of it. I hope he gets his comeuppance but they're probably seeing it as benevolent murder now. (I believe he stabbed him in the back too, if I'm not mistaken).

2. The Todoroki family has already to decided to give up on the son (Dabi) they deeply screwed up personally and are declaring who the 'true heroes' of the family have become. After he killed himself TRYING TO BE A HERO LIKE HIS DADDY. My disgust knows no bounds.

3. Arranged marriage is A-OK by me, ain't nothing wrong with that custom at all. It simplifies things a lot and keeps family fortunes afloat. People who say they're in love often divorce after a few years anyways so the chances it'll somehow work out are the exact same as 'marriage by love'.

4. None of this is answering the number one issue: Deku is not a real character or MC, he's an NPC side character and the central focus of the show. Hope we get to that next week.

Good ep.

I obviously do NOT condone what Endeavor did to his family but I also feel sorry for him; he was a damaged man under the weight of expectation and ultimately passed that on to his oldest child. He paid for that in the worse way possible (losing his son) and that broke him causing him to further harm those around him, this time out of desperation and fear.

I think the Todoroki family are a great example of how the world can damage a person and how it causes a chain reaction of damage to the people around us.

Definitely one of the best episodes in the whole series. Loved the focus on the entire Todoroki family, not just father or mother. They're all in this together, united for the first time. The demon-like visual description of Endeavor fighting Rei, with two kids hiding terrified, and one, Shouto, trying to protect his mother was A LOT. That was too real for shounen anime, geez.

I felt hurt watching it, but I can also believe in Endeavor's growth. Tooya as a kid just needed his father pay some attention to him, but I have no idea what could possibly save Dabi from his villainous self after all these years...

Eu achei que iria ser um episódio só pra mostrar o passado dos Todoroki pela visão do Dabi em vez do Shoto, mas foi bem mais do que eu esperava. Esse episódio foi tenso em certas partes.

Continue to what was left previously, well, even if the past can't be change, you still need to move forward, Endeavour. Face it like a man, take responsibilities, and i'm pretty sure there'll always be a way to atone the sins, even if its hard for the most hurted one. But at least they've united under the same perception, for the time being. To stop Toya, to stop Dabi, no matter what that is, as same as Jeanist and Hawks step in to offer the helps they need it...

Meanwhile, Deku held an important meeting with all the user's. I wish he can create some clothes on those space tho cause its look troubling when i'm thinking much about it...

This episode was half great, half bad.

It felt like it had a lot of forced drama. First Shoto's mom is quiet and timid, then she is stern and strong. Shoto is implied to be a forced, unwanted baby? And then Dabi the kid is sexist? What? Why? What possible reason could there be for any of these issues? They don't serve the story at all, they just feel like fake drama.

Endeavor has quite easily the best fleshed out story in this manga/anime. Strange for a side character who's an adult to boot.

The Todoroki family was quite something. A marriage of convenience, with Rei basically being reduced to a baby making factory and children judged exclusively on their hero potential. No wonder Rei got serious trauma and mental issues. Toya went full crazy and poor Fuyumi had to become a housewife and family pillar while she was still a teenager.

Ok...so Toya tried to kill Shoto as an infant?! And that's the reason he separated Shoto from all of them?! ...Endeavor was a bad father, but the full flashback actually reveals him to not be as bad as was assumed. He got all of the blame, but it was a mix of things. Once he saw Toya couldn't handle his quirk, he gave up on training him and prioritized his safety. Toya seems to have been unhinged and unstable on his own, honestly. My opinion is that Endeavor loved his children and was ok with them being normal. But when he got to his third child and wasn't getting what he wanted, he got frustrated. Then when Shoto was born TOYA became unhinged. It's normal for older kids to get jealous of the new baby, but he tried to kill Shoto...NUTS! This is what caused Endeavor to separate Shoto from his siblings with an iron fist. None of Endeavor's actions can be excused after he hit his wife, though.

This background is the highlight of the entire story. It encompasses every theme of the show. Just like Shigaraki's family, Endeavor's hero work, neglected his children. Toya wanted to be a hero but couldn't (like Midoriya) because his body couldn't handle it. Could go on, but it's all a beautiful story.

It seems like the world is going to find out what One for All is. I've never understood why All for One didn't expose what the quirk was to the public.

@DarkInsomnia57

1. Hawks did the right thing. What's he supposed to do, let Twice kill everybody?

2. Toya was insane from the beginning (there are several scenes and camera shots that show how unhinged he was without Endeavor doing anything to him). Endeavor did the right thing prioritizing his safety once he learned his quirk was destroying his body (this was the same advice given to them by the doctor btw). No good parent would allow their child to mutilate themselves like Dabi ultimately ended up doing. He tried to set him straight many times and Toya refused to listen.

3. Arranged marriage is fine, but this was about eugenics...

A really good episode for the first time in quite a while. Didn’t think their family story would be this dark but I loved learning about it. Also made me really understand Endeavors and Toya’s motivation more and I get it. Really good episode.

So much to pack from this episode sigh. Literally wanrs tk breed with her tk make a super child. “Designer baby”😭. I thought it was quite risky to marry someone with the with opposite quirk of you. Ik rei is strong quirk but it would lead to complication for at least one child. Like Dabi! He trained him and then ignore him and wonder why he wants to be hero so bad. You set him on this path. Random misogyny was strange. Wow he just slap rei. I have no remorse for tbjs guy. Even if he let his anger and obsession consume that has nothing to do with him slapping his wife in front of the children and now he crying in the future and apologising. Don’t-. Idk why they trying lift the guilt of his shoulder. It’s completely endeavour fault. He started this and let it continue on and still kept adding fuel to it. The family was just victims to this. Ik rei means well but her bending down taking me out😭😭😭. They need global aid immediately. This episode just made me sad about the family. I don’t think he should be forgiven but he still needs to clean his mess ig

@animeguy17 nah he is completely bad. He handle situations so bad. Rei was able to actually do a job . She said that to let her son down gently but endeavour didn’t care I was was reckless. Idk if we watch the same episode but he said that he doesn’t wanna talk to him much bc they ain’t going in the same career path. He was just completely awful. Why did he have to separate the other though lol. Dabi was the problem

@Kitty-Kate bear in mind this is his fault. Reap what you sow. I feel bad for the others especially tonya and todoroki and Rei. People saying they feel bad for endeavour but the people who had to deal with his behaviour for years lol

@DarkInsomnia57 Who are you talking about ??! Twice lmao?.
2. Sorry he is too far gone and done so much damage.

3. I don’t think the problem was arrange married . Arghh idk why people didn’t listen to details in this episode. In my opinion marrying like that leave to problems bc you don’t like eachother. You are just tolerating eachother. A lot arrange married are taboos and never work but the problem here was that he had alternative plans for this marriage as in breeding with her lol and that’s the mess up part

@animeguy17 1. Nah fr what did he expect. Even though I like twice he was still a threat lmao. I think they are letting their person feeling get involved .
2. I actually agree with this point. I think he was always kinda crazy from the jump and then endeavour made it worse so he far gone. They could have help him when he was younger bc that’s when it started to show.
3. Omg we said the exact same thing. How can they watch the episode and only got that from it. It’s the breeding part that is mess up the the marriage lol. Even the doctor was like pls stop this

@1Konochi YES. Like if endeavour was “worried “ about him behaving like this. Then go get him therapy. Especially how he is shelf harming lol
