| Statistics alone prove it's not the case. Sure there is a loud toxic fandom that's undeniably annoying, but the haters are equally so. Personally, I think both of those sides are retarded and should do something better with their lives. So far, I've only watched the first season of the anime, which was passable at best. The manga is still great though, with arguably the highest quality art of the current Shonen Jump lineup (Not counting Jump+). |

| It has good parts but a problem with trying to give the gigantic cast enough screentime to justify their existence. Onto that it's giving too much attention to the school aspect and just loses itself trying to jiggle the both of it. Overall it's still decent but probably in the lower half if not the lowest one from the new gen shounens. |

| A lot of the hate simply comes from Internet veterans hanging out around niche circles who 'don't want normies trying to enforce far-left viewpoints within OUR communities' (being very protective of the current culture and not wanting it poisoned with mainstream behaviour), or 'don't consider them true anime fans because it's mainstream', from what I've seen, honestly. I see it a lot within niche communities that tend to have a large proportion of people with... 'less than acceptable' opinions in the modern day Internet (in other words, perhaps not going along with post-2016 gender ideology): once something within the subject goes mainstream or attains success within a commercially viable group of people that can be easily marketed to (i.e. the 12-21 year old age group currently), everyone starts slagging it off for 'exposing normies to X subject'. You get into one thing, and you look for something else, and often you also end up finding the same thing as others who started from the same thing (I guess this is similar to the 'six degrees of separation' theory). Sorry for going off on one, I guess, especially as a new poster, and what I said probably makes no fucking sense, but eh. Also, I really love Toga. She's pretty relatable. |

| It is to me. And not just because of the fanbase. I don't really like superhero stuff in general. I'm not really a fan of OPM, Marvel (Yet my 2 favorite shirts are Captain America and Spider-Man shirts), and DC stuff as well. Though I'm okay with Spider-Man, the PlayStation games were very fun. |

I just finished watching the first season of this anime, and it's probably the best battle shounen I've ever seen, and I don't even like battle shounen anime for the most part, but My Hero Academia is really well done. The characters are interesting, and the pacing is just right. Back in my day, when it came to battle shounen, we had garbage like "Dragon Ball Z," which had horrible pacing. I've seen bits and pieces of later battle shounen, like "Naruto," "Bleach" and "FMA," but none of those could hold my interest at all, but "My Hero Academia" shines above them all. If Sally says that My Hero Academia is good, then trust me, it's good. |

| Probably not the worst out there, but one of the most tiring. I felt like the charm of it with the quirks and whatnot were super unexplored and plain. Never got so tired of watching a show so fast. Cast is way more annoyingly one note as well because of their quirks. Honestly hurts them a lot and gives an excuse to give them any depth. |

| I personally like MHA quite a bit but there's tons of potential that was wasted because the story gets kinda repetitive with all the work placements, tournaments and class duels. I feel the story finally got interesting when the focus was switched to the villains and the upcoming war should be a spectacle that shows heroes fighting it out with the villains... you know, the things superhero stories are all about. Overall, there's a lot of stuff out there that's better than MHA but also a lot that is worse. The actual worst thing about the series is its fanbase but a fanbase should never deter from the story itself. |
