I was not prepared for Anya to cry. The poor baby. :( At least Master Swan did end up getting punched for it.

As someone who works in education- people like that mustached administrator exist in the real world and it's honestly sickening... people who take out their frustration on children because there's no one else they feel they can punch down on.

Glad to see him punched in the face.

Not me laughing my ass off in a study room while watching this when I should be studying for my 2 exams next week. This anime keeps getting better and better. I still haven't changed my mind, is there any other anime that can top the perfection of this one? Maybe perfection is a little far, but overall everything has been so fitting and it all flows so smoothly. This is easily becoming one of my top 5 animes. I mean the fact that there happened to be a mosquito flying around when he was about to punch the guy? The fact that she was able to stop the cow without any hesitation in such an "elegant" way.
As a wise man once said, "No one hates anime more than anime fans"

The part of the mission the entire family was gathered for finally STARTS!

I appreciate the build-up designed for the start of the Eden College interview process; it was very intense and matched the family's own resolve to appear as the most perfect type of upper-class family.

Loid and Yor's reactions to Anya being verbally mistreated by that a-hole interviewer was priceless. The murderous looks on their faces lets me know how real this "fake" family is in reality.

That was quite the elegant episode! The family had to deal with quite a rude interviewer, and a chaotic interview. But with the people they've touched doing so, I think hope is still in their favor. If it's democratic at least, should be a 2 - 1 vote!

I was waiting so much for this episode! It was just unreally good, and the vibe of the ED is way too good!
The whole interview's pressure was so good in the anime. But they conquered the headmaster and the other guy, without a doubt.

Also, Lloyd and Yor's reaction was as amazing as in the manga! Lloyd's talking is way to good! And the headmaster's punch was something else ahaha

Seeing Henderson punch that arrogant jackass was so satisfying, that's all I cared about seeing in today's episode. How dare you make Anya cry 🤬

Yes, not to mention that Twilight really stood up for her, and was able to give that clever excuse that he was just killing a mosquito. Yeah I agree, that SOB interviewer got exactly what he had coming to him, and it was so satisfying to see!

Also, nice to see that Yor was saying that all hope is not lost either. So yeah, very interesting to see what happens in the next episode.

It's so cute to see how they are gradually creating the feeling of love for each other.

With each episode I fall more in love with this family, hoping that Anya's wish will come true.

Look let’s all just agree that so far this is BY FAR the best episode of the entire season to date of any show (even maybe 1015). It’s cheating cuz it’s early to hit us with this powerhouse of an episode but holy shit.

I'm guessing this might not be the last time we see Mr Swan? He might come back to cause Anya problems and maybe even inhibit mission progress.

The episode really did fly by though, that hardly felt like a full episode.

I love how anya structures her sentences in this episode. unfortunately It doesn't translate well in english.

first few second I laughed hard when she said Daijobumasu. This is so wrong yet came out so pure from Anya that I ended up laughing for the rest of the episode. Then she kept repeating the same grammatical mistake by mixing informal grammar with forced formal grammatical ending notation

Then she somehow mixed about saying went to see opera to eating opera, but the final gag definitely the spy tongue slip where she corrected it with such broken Japanese

That was a test with everything, even with problems that came unexpectedly, the truth is that seeing that, not being a family as such, there is concern and all, is to hope that it will turn out well, and something will have to be seen.

Enjoyable episode, pretty much a step up from the previous ones. I liked how it tried to embrace the authoritarian traditions and nepotism through it, it was an interesting idea to apply the normal to the abnormal and see how to swim around the conflicts

I continue to be very frustrated with this show's tone and characterizations. Which is better than being bored or annoyed by it, but if it played things a little bit closer to the vest, and just a little more seriously, all the dramatic and emotional elements would be so much more effective. The council of dicks in this episode would be so much more effective as antagonists if they were less Snidely Whiplash and more Anton Ego. They're presented right from the get go as ridiculous over the top jokes, sadistic lunatic maniacs who stuff children into sewers out of general spite, both, or absolute non-entities. It would have been so easy and obvious to do the standard twist where the seemingly unassuming guy was actually the super racist/stuffy jackass who is their true antagonist, while the one putting them through the wringer is the one they win over or teaching them a valuable lesson or the like. You know, the kind of high literary twist in everything from Scrubs to Monsters Inc. Instead, it wants to repeatedly scream ELEGANT like it's playing an obnoxious drinking game, and as if it wasn't on the nose enough, the family picture spontaneously comes down with an attack of the draaamaaaas.

Well, the 'spy' stuff is phoning it in pretty hard too. It mostly reminds me of Burn Notice's random expositional lessons. Say what you want about Jeffrey Donnovan being a black hole of charisma in that, but at least it did a good job selling that he was legitimately breaking down situations and people on the fly while teaching you how to make an improvised flashbang out of a stapler, rotary phone, and coffee mug. Here, the (scare quotes) 'spy' stuff is still mostly being used as an excuse to repeat the premise yet a-goddamned-gain for the most forgetful members of the audience, and to read off dossiers instead of anything organic or natural. Lloyd, or Loid, or however we're spelling this, would be so much better cut from Holmes or Westen's cloth instead of Siri.

This has to be satire. There is absolutely no way this account isn't run by a performance artist, trying to show what simple gags and concepts look like through the lens of severe autism.

Such an Elegant episode! The concept for accepting students in that school is unique.
The 'Forger' family actually stating to get fond to each other, the parent even angry seeing Anya shed a tears because of that arrogant guy.
But why do Anya cry though? Do she met her real mother before she was experiment??

Yor is the best girl/woman this week~ she paralyze the cow/bull is the badass scene!

They tried too much this episode so it ended up super weird for me.

The addition of cows was so over the top madness and the fat boy faking to be stuck in the gutter lol

The first part of the interview was funny, Anya looked a little silly with her wrong pronunciation of all her words.
It doesn't seem like she would fit in this school, but maybe she was just nervous.

Then they had this scumbag person asking a six year old girl about her deceased mother.
Sure in that era being re married was a stigma, but actually not for the husband.

I totally adore the way Yor is dressing up, all of her clothes look so chic
and eleganto XD

I think they all look great as family, Yor is very nice to Anya, it's sweet.

Just read the thread on Reddit, see how much of a single fuck about the quality of anything that you named is given by the average watcher and manga reader, and then realize that caring about the adaptation being the epitome of blandness, the comedy being horrible, and the characters just being meme machines is not a shortcoming, it is a feature. Just quoting:

This anime is not meant for people who have either memory or whose enjoyment is based on anything but cheering for the characters. Good antagonist and use of the premise is not needed for that

I'm repeating the sentiments of others, but only because it's true... episode 4 was VERY Ereganto!

One of the things I love about this show is the portrayal of a healthy family, and what everyone from children to adults deserves: direction, love, support, and stability. I feel episode 4 is in particular, and the closing animation does very well.

LOL @ Anya's reaction faces, makes me laugh every time.

Also, the interview... TBH, who the F actually brings 3 sets of clothing to an interview... But I guess that's what a master class Spy do.

Speaking of Spy, Anya almost accidentally reveal Loid's actual profession. (and his face, LOL)

(but... how is Loid still not suspicious of how Anya knows he's a Spy...)

___ ___ ___

TBH, the old Headmaster was the real Chad of this episode.

Tho... the end with the picture falling to the floor...

In Eastern Culture, that means everyone is going to be cursed (misfortune) and will have a bad life. (the good thing however, it's not cracked, if it is, it means someone is going to be hospitalized or die)
