Loved how dark this episode got when Makoto was mad! I want him to smash that bitch at the end to smithereens.

I really hope this show will get a second season (preferably 20+ episodes).

I was wondering btw, do the rings only mask the presence of his power or do they actually suppress them? Cuz if it's the latter, the new opponents are in for a treat..

Eh. It's hard to make a sharp tonal shift like this work. Usually when done right there's a subtle wrongness that finally makes sense when the ball drops. I love that feeling, but here it's out of place. You can do this worse. I appreciate he at least went through with the murder rather that teasing it for an even cheaper emotional grab, but you're not going to follow up the totally lighthearted handling of all power and threats and everything before this and have drama feel right. It's not like we lost anything great here. The whole show has been the lightest of light entertainment, but that doesn't mean this makes it better.

@KiliianSleipnir Hmm, kinda sad. This makes you start losing faith over your favorite manga/ln getting the adaptation it deserves. But nice to get a viewpoint. You must be following anime for a long time.
Even without reading the source material I believe it at least deserves to be held with the same love as Shield Hero, Slime or other A tier isekai. Or this genre will truly become the trash regarded by so many.

been a fan since 1990. didn't get deep deep deeeeep into it till 'pirate streaming' started up in the 2000's.

if you can ever find it, watch the 'behind the scenes specials' on 'Everyday Life With Monster Girls'... i thiiiiink... Funimation put it on their DVDs... subtitled. i've seen eps online. they do a fun fake 'undercover reporter!' series where a guy with a body-mic and a hidden camera goes in to Animate etc. to buy DVDs BR of 'MonGirl'... you would CRAP A CAR at the wall to wall to wall stuff the 'otaku stores' have everywhere. sometimes? five FLOORS of stuff. it is a HUUUUUGE part of the entertainment industry in Japan. you saw the first weekend theater ticket sales for 'Demon Slayer' movie recently right?

all that cash, equates to, a crap-ton of books and manga that get cranked out every year in Japan. the 'Yen Boys' in anime production land... gotta pick their franchises carefully.

placing this show in the A tier isekai? hmmm... no. they didn't work hard enough on it. i put it in the B+ level. hands. always look at the focus characters' hands in a scene. if the art was rushed, or they're simply cutting corners... hands are the FIRST spot animators skimp on. they're just dang complex to draw. check for looping in foliage (grass leaves branches etc), cloth, and hair animations. if it the loop is longer than hmm... a 10 second shot... then it repeats... it's had some hard work done on it. if it's a 5 second long loop... they cut some corners.

it just comes down to how many frames each animator is tasked with working on each day in the schedule. that's why anime movies GENERALLY look... ahhh... 'fancier' than TV series. the run-time for the whole job is shorter in a movie. plus the screen is huge, so the animators gotta do more 'grunt work' to make a movie look pretty than on a TV series.

also, the source for this one is kinda weak too. i've got a few folks who've given me personal reviews online... yeah... he's so dense the manga's over 100 chapters and he's still not 'snu snu' with either one. one acquaintance of mine who's not fully fluent in Japanese, but is really dang close. he has read raw-fan-scans beyond the fanslations out there... and he agreed... dude hasn't 'pudditinem'... after so many pages worth of ... his words... "blatantly obvious ecchi panels where the girls are nigh on tackling the dude desperate for D". above and beyond the 'inn bedroom scenes' so far done in the anime. so to me, the mangaka is dragging it out way WAY too much on the 'romance side'... as to the light novel side of the story? i've no clue, don't know anybody who's read-em.

it is a fun show and i've enjoyed it, they've turned a few of the classic isekai tropes around and upside down. so it's not the garden variety isekai.

Oh damn that turned out to be more brutal than I could have imagined. Goodbye Mini Tomoe :'(

Oh, the goddess stepped in, talk about unexpected. Seriously, I knew the goddess threat was always there but not having seen her since the first episode, this came as a surprise. And wow, new girl voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro, nice.... not that nice for Makoto though.

Finally... Mio is way too cute <3

Damn this episode moved too fast. From the heavy sadness of goodbye's and despair too that cliffhanger. Next episode we're getting the OP battle. I really like how this show(unlike the Kumo reincarnation one) focuses on the MC and has been delivering the story upto the other arc mixes.
When someone asks me why I like anime, I'd say Just Because.

this was a damn dark episode.. i would not lie.. but Makoto killing the hyuman was a bit edgy and cringey.. or maybe a bit outta place.. but when he pierced her neck.. man.. this show took a turn for the worse.. (in a good way)
.
Good to see both the spider-kun and musashi-chan cheerful but Tomoe's fragment death felt a bit unsatisfactory.. granted i was spoiled weeks back.. so i had for something flashy.. and this didn't cut it..
.
The last few mins tho.. HOLY SHIT.. the all-so-powerful-and-OP MC losing his comrades and than losing his fingers.. the story is only starting for fuck sake.. and the next episode would be last.. :/

Yes the 2nd season of Tensei shitara had too much dialogues in the middle episodes, wasting our time. Its animation has gone down too.

I really liked this episode even with the tonal whiplash, because it's like Makoto wants to pretend everything is normal, just apologize to people and make sure it never happens again, but whoops he forgot about the damned goddess. he will have no peace unless he does to her what he did to the adventurer.

but I wanted to raise a point. I don't know if the subtitles were imprecise, but if they correctly conveyed the gist, Makoto said that "it's sad when people die".
um. I don't know if I'm reading too much into it, but it's like he had to remind himself to be upset at the death of people. that crying was a trained reflex he developed after he was told he ought to.

and if that's the case, what else does he do because he believes he ought to? because he thinks it's proper? honestly, everything. He's very polite, fulfills obligations, takes responsibility, but I don't get any sense that it's because it's the right thing to do. It's what he believes he's supposed to do. that being the case, the moment where he kills the adventurer is the only time we have ever seen the real Makoto. I wouldn't say he's a total sociopath - he does seem to feel SOMETHING positive about Tomoe and Mio, but I've always got an odd feeling about him.

at the very least he's getting very close to truly hating hyumans, and they seem to have it coming. the world he's in is actually insanely fucked, and that might also be at the root of his madness - the whole incident makes him connect the dots and realize just how bleak things are for every sentient being on the planet that isn't hyuman. sooner or later he'll have to kill the goddess. there's no way around that.

Man, I hope we get a second season, but judging from this studio's previous works, they have never made a second season. So, this is probably gonna be a go read the fucking light novel ending. I hope I am proven wrong.

Great episode! That thicc adventurer definitely deserved that. That's why you never abuse someone's kindness. Though Makoto definitely needs some therapy, instead of bottling up his feelings inside. Hyumans are ass, most of the ones we've met are fucked up except Toa and her group.

That cliffhanger though, that shit happened q u i c k. Can't wait for the last episode.

Man they really skipped the summoning of heroes, opening of the store in tsige, details about the heroes and the war between hyumans and demons, and they suddenly introduced Sophia. Like WTF man. I totally thought that this would take place in next season. They most probably speed run the previous chapters, so I recommend reading the manga and then the web novel which is currently 433 chapters in English translation. I'd recommend reading from regokai. And trust me, it just levels up and goes up and up. . it's my 2nd fav isekai after slime and mushoku.

Dying can make you sad and cried. But the tears could also associated with something more powerful than the sad thing only. Makoto might've feel a frustation, anger, madness, in one place, rather than feeling sad completely there. Causing the eyes still tearing, uncontrollably. A mixed feeling, indeed.

Alright, that was unexpected explanations. The explosion cause by the ring that bitch stole before. That Tomoe memories-reveal power in the midst of those chaotic situations truly a helpful source material to explain things. But truly right at some point, where the hyumans portrait to be some shit piece of crap on these world. Well, not everyone like those bitch. But, its thanks to the kuso megami? Oh well, maybe that's why.

Another thing that comes to my mind, did Tomoe fragment will be gone forever? No way right? I still wanna see Tomoe chibi mode T.T Well, glad that orc kid was saved, even though that Alke dude got some serious injury. Then Shiki also quite helpful too there, as a lich, the undead can do the healing magic. Nice! So, yeah, this is an unexpected turn of event. While being served as a little characterization of Waka-sama. He sure can be cruel sometimes, of course.

But, the tension was not over. There's another trouble occur where Waka-sama get transported again and spotted by those bloodlust chick. Demon? Or the country hero? I feel like Rembrandt also intended to send Makoto there. Well, in short, the next title name use as same as the series name, shall be worthy enough for me to say, Tsukimichi deserve another additional season, to fully understand whats goin on to that shitty world under the shitty goddess supervise.

This show paid the price for being more rushed than the bowel movement on my first and only case of diarrhea.

So here is it - the tonal inconsistency, the lack of good foreshadowing, zigzag narration, episodes overcooked with all sorts of content, leading to something extremely important to the series in an underwhelming manner. Just imagine this happening near the end of a well-paced neatly adapted 24-episode show. Stop adapting hundreds of mid isekais, and focus on making a handful of them good; instead of making them a mere source material advertisement!

Gonna miss Fragment. Well actually nope because the show moved from her demise in a span of 5 minutes. I am liking Shiki, and that Alke guy (Hakuro?) might become a close friend to Makoto in the near future. Adventurer got what she deserved, those few minutes were really good directed, if I look at them like an isolated YouTube video clip. Things got hunky-dory again with mc leaving the realm and go around for some research. A very odd chronological transition happens, and suddenly he's minus his fingers! Okayyyyy. I don't think the swordswoman's safe with a ringless Makoto.

Plus points to Tomoe for being emotional support.

totally disagree with this fragment and the other orc guy were just irrelevant side characters why show too much of their death. we were literally told there was no corps left due to the explosion.

Ppls forgot about what the Goddess said at the beginning of the series.

She forbid Makoto to interact with hyumans.

The fact he was able to talk to hyumans was already impressive enough by suppressing his mana.

But the Goddess "found him" due to Makoto's huge mistake of attempting to use a transportation teleport spell (like he was saying) that was pretty much powered by the Goddess like most magical things Hyumans uses. (dude probably thought it was safe since he used the "mist" to teleport tons of time, but forgot the "mist" is powered by him and not by the Goddess)

___ ___ ___

I can already guess those 2 ppls that can cut Makoto's fingers are probably powered by the Goddess herself...

So if that's true, essentially Makoto's fighting against the Goddess.

This ep almost guaranteed that there wont be a second season due to

That aside what a friggin ep. If you have noticed, Makoto has always had something off about him ever since he snapped at Mio when she was about to kill him during their first fight when he suddenly released that amount of bloodlust not caring about anything anymore and just wanting to kill Mio at the time. There was also that moment when Makoto asked Mio to find Toa and she not being keen on the idea Makoto looked at her like she was trash lol.
There were subtle hints of Makoto not being of the average thinking of most isekai mcs where they dont get bloodlusted that much. Makoto is kind of a rare breed where he can still be chill, make jokes and become the straight man when someone starts being dumb and at the same time able to release the amount of bloodlust he just did and actually finish the job.
If we ever do get a season 2 which I think is a very slim chance now, you'll get to see more of how... to put it in a nice way, unique this mc is in his own right.
Also I was under the impression that the whole scene of Makoto slowly walking towards the hoe was rotoscoped.

I'm so confused at that ending....I thought Makoto had a sort of defensive Kai that auto-triggered/surrounded him all the time that prevented surprise attacks and the like so him losing his fingers almost made me think he got Isekai'd to a different world/dimension where his OP powers are nulled?

Otherwise I don't get that ending....It's totally thrown from far left field and totally horrible second-to-last ep material......To introduce new charas this late in the game either means
A) The charas are totally unimportant and/or total pushovers that he'll "overpower" or "befriend" in one ep OR
B) This season will end in the biggest cliff hanger/teaser ever and blackmails watchers into demanding a second season.

in either case I don't imagine the last ep will be able to save the series/season....even with a small part of me rooting for them...

it rushed and skipped many scenes from main source that should be there. It only has 12 episodes or 1 cour so far. If studio didn't skip that since beginning, i guess it will end up with no climax there.

Once again it's studio decision to do that. It's a common problem for each studio. I wouldn't bash it just for reason like this.

I'm just.....complete lost at whomever decided to execute it like this....even in off chance they are preemptively hyping these "new charas" that don't show up in the source till much later ((according to everyone else spoiling this fact cuz I'm an anime-only watcher)) it seems like bad taste as a tease.....

Wow, i don't know that (ah i see, look like they just want to see those Hero's POVs so badly). Ngl, i'm hyping for Makoto's personality change only not those new charras who suddenly/don't come until later since the plot was rushed, other than that i just enjoy the entire show, especially world building there.

I was wondering btw, do the rings only mask the presence of his power or do they actually suppress them? Cuz if it's the latter, the new opponents are in for a treat..

I am waiting to see him unleashed.

Wtf was this sudden cringe Sasuke-mode and murder? Since when was this anime so edgy and dark? This felt like Slime crap all over again.

The end felt super rushed.

So it was his mana-sucking ring that caused the explosion, anyhow that entitled hyuman bitch deserved to die. I won't miss the orc but the little Tomoe Fragment.

Hah as I expected for some time now..that biatch of this world called their goddess finally interfered! Maybe she was worried of his mana increase approaching godhood, or him contaminating her beautiful hyumans. She teleported him on the front line where these heroes might be seeing him as one of the demons, heck the demon king.
You see there's no need to wonder where your god is,
Coz he's right here! ...and he's fresh out of mercy.
