| sure, I would probably watch anime with my kids, nothing too gory or sexy, but if they watched something like that on their own (and were older than like 12) I probably wouldn't mind. trying to suppress a teenager's curiosity and interests is usually just counterintuitive, as it makes them trust you less while still seeking out that more mature content in secretive ways. |

Maybe start with series like Pokemon or Sailor Moon when they're younger (like 6 - 10) and then move onto watching a series like One Piece when they are say 10 - 12, which will take years to get through, so by the time we get to the heavier content in OP they should be 14 ish. Then they can start choosing what anime to watch themselves, just have to keep them away from the worse ecchi shows. |

| Yeah, why not? I watched Naruto and stuff like that when I was around 10 since they were broadcasted on TV and I turned out alright I think. Kids TV shows nowadays are way too tame anyway. Let them see some blood or some more mature themes, life's not a safe space. |

| wow yall have very old standards if my kid wanted to watch p*rn at 12 he can.... so it goes without saying he can watch anime before 18 every kid goes through puberty and dont lie and say you didnt watch p*rn at least once before you're 18 dont take away that freedom... ok it technically isnt made for kids under 18 but you guys dont understand how important it is to find things out ab your sexual preferences. plus it is very healthy for teenagers to get to understand everything. that way they can educate themself (i dont mean educate from porn, but shit like how s*x works and shit, how to wear a codom, what is a menstrual cycle.... even if you're a boy i think its important to get to know things about the puberty of the other sex...) plus letting kids not watch anime is like letting your kid not playing games... you cant hold their hands for the rest of their life you should let them find out their own boundaries and shit (eventually guiding them) but this is very important because multiple studies show if you ban something in your household they are more likely to try what you banned and this is not just a study its scientiffically proven on top of that.... when you become 18 you start having loads of other responsibilities maybe you go to college, or you start working i started having less and less free time and to this day im starting to watch less and less anime not only do you start having these responsibilities you also have to try to be more social, because social skills will easilly help you a lot in the coming years if you're holed up in your house constantly when you have free time just to watch anime and just avoid social situatons you're only making your life harder i know mental health plays a big role and yes i get it, you dont have to go outside and meet loads of ppl but getting a reliable friend with whom you could call/ talk helps a lot even if its 1 evening in your week and this takes time away from anime i dont discourage watching anime over 18 (im doing the exact thing) but i only want you ppl to think that its very hindering and you dont rlly have the time to watch a lot of anime so let your kids watch anime at a young age if they dont want to, dont force it on them |

| I have a 8 years old little brother, and I don't let him to watch it with me no matter what๐ So, I don't know, maybe I would let my future kid (if I'll have one) to watch it at the age when I started, but not really much before that. But to not let before 18 is a bit too much, I don't wanna be a strict old hag who don't let her kid to do what he/she want. |

I would obviously watch over the things my kid watches when they are younger (up to the age of 8) and from then on I would keep an eye on them but I would want them to experience the things by themselves. |

| Personally, I don't think I'm even going to want kids. But yes, I would let them watch anime. It's an entire medium, there are shows made for children as well as those for adults. It's just another thing to be aware of. That's why I like that MAL has ratings on everything. It makes it so I can pick and choose what I might want to watch with my child. I would definitely be the cool aunt that spoils my nieces and nephews with anime all the time, though. |
