Best scene in the show so far, I pretty much called it being his older brother moments before Kazutora went for the kill, just by seeing the look in Baji's eyes it was clear cut, but it was still a very powerful moment in the show. This arc seems to be the most interesting so far in my personal opinion.

Baji and Kazutora didn't go to jail because they were still underage right, I wished at least they got psychiatrist/ therapy session because the event really damaged some of their mental, which led to things happening rn

Sorry, but I'm confused. Was Kazutora already a psycho before? His motivation to kill Mikey felt so incredibly forced and out of nowhere...

As @Srh18 pointed out in an earlier post,

"...he had a mental breakdown and couldn't believe what he just did so he put the blame on Mikey instead of himself because in his eyes it wouldn't have happened if Mikey had a good bike in the first place even though poor Mikey never asked for anything.

That way it's easier for him to deal with everything. But yeah it's messed up and doesn't make sense but that's what trauma/mental breakdown does to you.

This is only my opinion. This is based on what I feel with Kazutora during that time. And I want to share it because I saw a post on Facebook, and they treat Kazutora's statement of "It's all Mikey's fault." as something you know, crazy or funny to the point that they're making it a meme. Something like that. And if that post is for fun only, I still want to share my opinion. Because I believe that Kazutora's feeling at that time is important, and there must be a reason why he ended up saying that.

WARNING: The statement below is considered spoiled content. Especially if you still haven't watched the latest episode of Tokyo Revengers.

We all know that Kazutora just wanted Mikey to be happy by giving him a present which is a CB250T. When Baji realizes that the idea of getting the CB250T is by stealing it from a bike shop, he immediately disagrees with Kazutora. Eventually, Baji went to the flow after realizing his own intention of seeing and wanting Mikey to be happy. Just like how Kazutora thinks, their intentions are now aligned.

However, Shinichiro appeared on the site and clearly recognized Baji. Kazutora, who still hasn't realized that the man he attacked is Mikey's older brother, ended up damaging him to the point that Shinichiro is not breathing and was considered dead.

Now, when Baji told him that the man lying on the ground was Mikey's older brother, Kazutora began to panic. They are both panicking to the point that they don't know what to do with Shinichiro. They're both hardly breathing due to the tremendous panic they feel. And because of the pressure they feel, it's only obvious that their mind will become unstable. At least during that time.

But, let's read this for one last time:

Kazutora attacked the person. It was to SAVE Baji from being discovered. That person is Shinichiro. Kazutora didn't know until Baji told him.

Now, I think the reason why Kazutora ended up saying that was because of the fact that he accidentally killed Mikey's brother. The fact that even if he denies it, what happened at that time was surely his fault. Amidst his panic and unstable mind, he concluded by saying that it's all Mikey's fault. Behind that statement, I considered it as something like this, "I accidentally killed Mikey's brother. But, I didn't know that it was him. I just wanted Mikey to be happy. I just wanted to give this CB250T. It's supposed to be a gift from him. It's for his birthday. It's because of HIM that I ended up with this. Therefore, it's all Mikey's fault."

At least that's what I feel behind those words. I think, Kazutora said that in the middle of his unstable mind. And then continuously believe and push everything to Mikey as the accountable person for everything that happened. And I considered it as not funny. It's actually sad that he thought of that. While deep inside, he knew that it was his fault. Accidentally or not.

"It's all Mikey's fault." should not be considered a funny or absurd statement. It's actually a sad statement. At least for me.

Thank you for reading this. And please continue supporting Tokyo Revengers.

so isn't the animation good enough?
i've had this fight with someone in a anime chat
room before and they said "tokyo revengers' animation is so bad because it has so many still frames'
but honestly if the animation was actually bad it would have never boosted the manga by this much because it's currently selling a million copies in a fucking week so people love this anime over there in japan
i think that argument is honestly bullshit because even yeah the animation has some still frames here and there but the drawings are quite detailed and it looks like the character designs are laborious to animate but honestly the anime is fine over all animation wise like this dude who said that doesnt even have that many anime completed so he probably lacks the experience

This episode HURT. wow. The irony of them trying to steal a bike for Mikey, and the bike is owned by Mikey's brother. Great lesson of the day: don't steal.

Poor Kazutora. He didn't know nor was smart enough to do research on the shop. So, after killing Mikey's brother, he had a mental break and pushed his guilt/confusion toward Mikey and wanting to kill him. I'm not necessarily mad at him, but I'm at little ??? at Baji. Thinking back to how he treated Mikey the other episode, I'm like "this kid has some nerve..."

This is the first episode in a while that I've actually enjoyed. I think this made me realize that I'd enjoy this show a lot more if it dropped the not-great time traveling aspect and was just a show about Manji Gang.

Although that wouldn't help the weird art style.

I enjoyed this episode, but I agree with the person you were arguing with that the animation is lacking. On top of that, I think the art style is weird and off-putting due to the color choices and less detailed style than the manga. Honestly, I'm thinking I'll buy the manga eventually because it looks infinitely better than the show.

You're posting on a forum... people are going to tell you their opinions lol. Not trying to help you or persuade, just letting you know what I think, especially because you said the other guy wasn't very experienced. You assumed because he hadn't watched much anime that he lacked the experience to know a good show, but I've watched quite a bit and still don't think this is a good show. :) Just letting you know that not just newbies think this show isn't great lol.

This episode proofed that the teen age is the dumbest part of our lives.

I just don't get something: Mikey's eyes were lackluster even before his brother was murdered. So when did Mikey's first trauma happened???

I screamed at the twist. That is all. I’m still intimidated to read the manga as it is in 200+ chapters and counting. I wish they would give this to a proper animation house tho. The story is so rich and layered that it sucks to see how bad the animation is. Also I am a huge fan of Baji ever since he showed up at the big fight. Everytime the man unfurls his ponytail, it’s melting time for ya girl.

These middle schoolers must have gone through puberty really quickly. I don't know any 13 year old that sounds or looks like them. Hard to feel sympathy for Kazutoro since even Baji told him stealing was bad.

What.. the actual fuck? You're telling me dude kills Mickey's brother and blames it on HIM, and now wants to kill Mickey for revenge? How ridiculous can this get? What bothers me the most about this is Baji supporting Kazutora.

The only thing good about this episode is the animation. The swing that knocked Mickey's brother out was smoothly animated.

I sometimes forget to finish my sentences.

This ep doesnt make sense. 12 years old kids with tattoos in the head and neck with strong muscles, riding motorcycles around Tokio ( police are blind). Kill the brother of your leader, later blame him for the shit you done without his permission. Then live your life aiming to kill him for no reason. LOL

Wow Kazutora is certainly a lunatic shitty person for not only being the whole cause of this incident (as he dragged Baji to join him) but also blaming it on Mikey who didn't know about this.

I know its anime and thus fictional but I wish this was set in third year Middle school to High school as I can't take it too serious with them being gangbangers since elementary.

Poor Mikey. I feel really bad for everyone involved. Clearly Baji and Kazutora wanted to do something nice for Mikey, little did they know what that would cost. I wonder how this all unfolds in the present with Kazu and Baji ending up in the rival gang though as opposed to staying with Mikey.
