| For me, it's not to be 10/10. Score is just a reflection on my enjoyment when watching anime. But favorite is what I love, i guess? though it's not perfect, if it's really hooked me to the top, it can probably to be in my favorite list. how the hell I explain this lol, I'm not good in explaining things. |
| Not at all. I have plenty of favorite series that aren't scored 10, and hardly any of my 10's are considered favorites. I score shows on the basis of enjoyment, not quality. And the ones that I decide to be my favorites are the ones that I have a lot of meaning to me, regardless of how much I actually enjoyed them. For instance, a few of my favorites are stuff that I watched as a kid. They're not as enjoyable compared to a majority of what I'm watching currently, but they mean a lot to me. |

| Yes, I think anime I rated 10/10 are really the best the medium has to offer, so it's only reasonable that I'd pick my favorites from there. Unpopular opinion in this thread I guess, but I think my scores should reflect my own opinions instead of some kind of "objective" standard (in reality someone else's standard). |

| Shows I rate a 10 are usually stuff I find pretty amazing/ nearly flawless. But when I pick a favourite anime its usually one that I like for personal reasons and not necessarily because its a perfect 10. |

| Definitely not, a show can be flawed or have major weak points or lower ratings and despite all that it can earn a spot in my favorites, especially when it manages to transcend itself beyond those flaws. |

| The way OP phrases the question makes it seem like first comes the question of score...and then comes the question of favorite. And that's not the correct order. 1st is the question of favorite, and then it's the question of score. Otherwise you would be giving 10s to stuff that isn't really a favorite of yours and that to me is just bullshit. |
| nope my favorite has nothing to do with what i define as a 10 i gave bento a 6 but it's one of my all time fav considering it's such a guilty pleasure with a dumb story about fighting over half priced convenience store food. do i think it's a 10? no way. but i sure as hell enjoy it way too much just because you enjoy something doesn't mean you have to give it a 10. unless of course you purposely turn a blind eye to it's flaws and shortcomings |

| No, i have many anime where I recognise that it has flaws and its far from perfect, therefore id give it a lower score than 10 but nevertheless i enjoy it more than other shows and consider it a favourite. It works the other way round too, not all shows i give a 10/10 are my favourites. |

| If you're specifically talking about favorites shown on the MAL profile, which looks like you are, No. An anime doesn't have to be 10/10 since I'm weighing the entire franchise. The franchise has to be top 19 (I use manga section for "anime" favorites) among all the franchises I watched. Each anime listed in my favorite had a season that is not a 10/10. |

| I judge anime based solely on a single thing - how much I enjoyed it. Sure, having great music, characters, story/lore & animation adds to that, but it's not what I rate shows on. As such, I rate my favs a 10, as I have enjoyed them most. In no way would I say my 10s are perfect, I don't think there's any show that'll be truly 'perfect' |
