so, 5 episodes ago they were fighting at a martial art contest of highschoolers. Now gods are descending from the sky and everyone has crazy unexplained powers. That's gotta be one of the worse animes I've ever seen

I really can't understand how someone who's not a edgy 14 year old can enjoy this episode. Nothing makes sense, the strongest is whoever the show say is, all power is a deus ex machina, all the secondary characters have zero development and even the villains' motivation is barely explained.
This anime is just a product to take money from edgy kids, with barely any story.

I 100% bet those fans that watch and discredit criticism of this GOH anime are the ones that once watched and still think to this day that dbz is the best anime of all time

Guilty as fuck, but I gotta say, I have no idea what is happening but I'm enjoying every second of it.

The fights were the most enjoyable part but this episode boiled down to a nuke being turned into a fist forced into a giant yellow sigil for the one true god from some evil organization never explained by a giant meteor???

This gotta be the best review for this anime, 19/10 would watch again.

We went from a high school tournament, to fucking fighting Gods in a span of a few episodes.

P A R K O U R

Animation, art, music is top notch as always. But, Goddamn I couldn't care less about what is happening. I am monkey brain so, I should have been able to enjoy it but I am not. Well, last episode next week at least give us a spectacle of fuckery.

Damn this is getting pretty insane! I wonder if Jin can beat him now...
The blue haired guy is simply way to OP, and now he got the key.

But the MVP is that granpa who teleported everyone, damn!

Last episode!

What is this shit. Its like i was watching a simphony of a thunder in a racing competition. Its like i was watching a recap over 500 episodes of a usual serialization. Everything just so fast even i don't have a time to breath. I am so glad that i am watching it a bit of late. Because no matter from what side you watch this, everything just a complete plain field. Nevermind the storyline, and they kept the track straight-forward. Its just like, threw every shit you had, so hard, so fast, no break, and be done with it at the end. Its so dissapointed, and such a pain in my ass xD

again, another brilliantly animated episode but too much going on. i can't comprehend the events that happened. only that the antagonists want the key and the key came out of ilpyo and then he entrusted that key to jin mori and then all of a sudden a grandpa that had his grandchild killed is up for revenge, there's a boodhasitva thing idk anymore

Yeah I don't blame anime-only's ragging on this week's episode. Pacing is fucked rushed, but I still enjoy everything aesthetically. It's a shame that, being a fan of the original comic, I know about the characters and their backstories so my brain is just filling in the gaps for the story. But to people who haven't, they're left hanging in the lurch trying to figure out what's going on.

I'm watching this again with 2 friends, one who has read the original comic and one who hasn't, so I'm interested to see what the one who hasn't makes of what's going on. Saying that though, most people slamming the episode in these threads can barely English, so I wonder if that's saying something?

All in all, Crunchy fucked us, but I'm glad MAPPA did what they could with what they were given. Here's hoping that Crunchy is not the only production company behind S2 of GoH (It will get a S2, this shit is making a bunch of money for Crunchy)

Never read the manhwa but it doesn't feel particularly confusing. The Cult wants to summon God to destroy everything, GOH dudes are looking for the Key that has the powers of the Fox deity former bodyguard of God to be able to challenge God. Key awakens in Ilpyo, Cult summons a bunch of stuff from God's realm to destroy it, the US panics that they can't handle it and sends nukes. The grandfather of the ganked dude is revealed to be an OP member of the Six who teleports everyone to safety (except for the group hidden in the GOH dude's pocket realm) and repurposes the nukes to beat the Cult summons, sacrificing the city and himself in the process. The pocket realm then collapses, popping them out in the ruined city and giving them radiation poisoning. Then Jegal gets the key and has Fox bodyguard powers. Did I miss anything?

Disappointed this adaptation has been so rushed should be a good finale tho. Still, wish they had made both GOH and TOG 25 eps or smt as this feels even more rushed than TOG to the point where its hard to follow the story. :(

I found it difficult to concentrate on all the various things that are happening. It's hard to feel sorry for anyone, even for Il-Pyo who is one of my favorites, because of this huge mess. I said it before and I'll say it again, I used to really like this series and thought it was an 8.5/10 but my score is lower now with the mess that's happening. I feel like 13 episodes is way too short to showcase everything and they tried to pack everything that they could. It was more enjoyable in the beginning.

I don't think I'm the only one that notices the recent episodes of this season being very rushed in terms of pacing in story, while mostly relying on animation and the fight scenes for the most part. I have no idea with what's going on anymore really and I still don't understand why this key is so damn important. They don't explain the smallest details and the way the story switches from a tournament to a full on god fight is rather jarring to some degree.

This was one of my most hyped series this season and now I'm kinda disappointed like Tower of God. These manhwa adaptations have not been doing well in my POV

Great episode but it felt really chaotic, like it needed slowing down a bit. I don't think Nox was built up or explained very well; they seem to want the end of the world, but why? And as far as Jegal is concerned; Is his only motivation to take The Key because he doesn't want to be a 'loser'?

I think this anime definitely needed 24 eps so that things could be explained and explored better and we could grow to care for the characters more outside of Mira, Jin, Daewi & Ilpyo. It seems like Mujin needed a lot more focus cause we know literally nothing about him yet we're supposed to care about his goal.

Not much to add from the previous episode rundown. The animation was fantastic, too bad the story makes no sense to make me care that much.

So pretty much there are multiple people after the key, the strongest character is determined by nothing, it's just what the story wants it to be at any particular moment. New characters pop up just to do one thing completely unexplained then pop off when finished. Everyone has a Charyeok now. The key still isn't explained and the world mechanics aren't either.

When the nuclear missiles came, I was thinking sarcastically, "oh no, if only people had powers to block/intercept missiles", and of course someone did, so not sure why characters thought it was a big deal.

I really just hope that the final episode somehow miraculously puts it all together with a satisfying conclusion for season 1.

Wow, just what I was thinking.

The martial arts battles have exquisite animation, but the BS story is taking center stage by this point. Just as you said, I can't also give a damn about the stakes.

Damn I don't even know where to start. This episode went so over the top that not myself alone but also the characters in the show itself didn't knew what the fuck was goin on.

So we have a key everyone is after. But what is the actual purpose of that key? Taek turned into I don|t know how to describe it, maybe shark demon? And then there's this "god" who got summoned by that Nox guy which reminded me a lot on Neteros Nen ability.

I also had to laugh when they launched nuclear bombs. As if there was nobody who could stop it right?

Ngl that mass teleportation was pretty cool and I also like the fight scenes overall, but there's so much going on it's crazy. I got completely lost when Taek turned into a baby and a second after he became like half demon half angel after incorporating the key. I don't even know how this could end with only 1 episode left.

I still don’t know what the heck is going on. Jegal vs. Mori’s animation was amazing. Park is never gonna get his hands down, two fucking episodes in the same position, he and Mandeok could be like that for the eternity. So, it wasn’t explained what the key is. I want to know United States’ position upon deciding if shooting the nuclear missiles or no, I’m going to suppose that the guy that decided it, somehow knew about the charyeoks and that if that God touched the key, the entire world was gonna disappear cause yes. Park has teleporting abilities, like the other old man. Why Ilpyo decided to give to Mori the key. Baby Jegal, God Jegal, hahahahaha.

The US being introduced into the story just to start launching nuclear missiles made me laugh so hard xD

But seriously, I could swear this was a simple yet enjoyable martial arts shounen a few episodes ago... so what's up with all this chaotic writing? Everything that happens feels so random, rushed and confusing and I can't help but remember just how... proud the director looked when he was interviewed about GoH. Sadly, this series has turned into a total mess and it's honestly a real shame to see this amount of dedication in terms of production values being destined to such mediocre piece of work.
