Very well remembered.
It is from the Movie Frozen Bonds.

Btw, seeing Emilia in actual pity state, i guess that watch the movie is a good way to remember that Emilia once was a real BADASS.
Now she is nothing more than a shadow from what she was in the movie.
swirlydragon said: Well Subaru's suffering starts once again. But I am sad Emilia didn't get much screen time. She is so strong and I am sure she could defeat the mabeasts with ease while Puck can defeat Elsa (since it is morning) but of course author didn't include Emilia here :(

Honestly this was a pretty good moment for Emilia as well that will probably be thrown away once Subaru eventually resets. (Unless the reset updates)
Why Beatrice why did you save him? Everyone is toast!
I still think Subaru will reset. Also Rem told Subaru that if he ever saw Beatrice to tell her "Roswall said to ask the question."
Speaking of Roswall my man looked super suspect in this episode. Subaru kind of messes up when talking to him which made Roswall question him in some type of way which makes me think that Roswell has some sort of idea abut Subaru's reset ability.
Hopefully our Crew is safe next week
Oh yeah! I totally forgot about that part, where Subaru can just ask Beatrice to ask the question. I really hope he says that in the next episode and isn’t blinded by anger and rage to remember. I want to see everything change, I don’t want something that significant to be carried over into the next cours.
Or blood loss, he was bleeding very badly and it looks like he may have just lost his left hand.

nah, it was the right post, just use your english skills. It's meant to go with "I really hope he says that in the next episode and isn’t blinded by anger and rage to remember. "
Call me easily impressed but this was a great episode. I loved it. Yeah, the animation looked shitty in some places, but overall they did a really good job.
Well... that could've gone better for Subaru and the gang.
So it seems like Elsa must be lurking somewhere near the mansion if she was able to meet Subaru and Ram early. Kinda sucks that Beatrice saved Subaru so late in the game there but I suppose there was a reason behind it. I wonder what she'll say to him after he lashes out at her for saving him? Hopefully there's no save point between after the trial and now. Cause if there is, that would really, really suck.
Now this shit went fire. Well, Emilia’s reaction was expected, but Garfiel changed his mind in this timeline. It was all flowers until Elsa appeared, being honest, the first thing I would’ve done, was, if possible, visiting Beatrice and use that words, so she can be aware of a an assassin around, if anyone could face Elsa, is her, despite Elsa seems too much unstoppable. Frederica turned completely into a beast, nice. It’s sad watching how Ram attempted to save Subaru, she was right about escaping, and Beatrice finally appearing, this far, there’re not that much options than die and starting again, Frederica, Petra and Ram dead.

In this episode Elsa just said a strange name.
yeah people itt were saying she was in season 1, don't even google her name + season 1, you will get a ton of spoilers in just like the website titles people

Ah. I see now. I spent longer than I would like to admit trying to connect the two, so I had to ask. So I guess that was the significance behind the white handkerchief that was around his hand getting sliced in half, I think you’re right about his hand being cut off too.
AdolZeppeli said: There's a serial killer in the fucking mansion, but let's just waste our time deciding what to do and to talk a loli into your god damn harem.
Why did no one take out that thing out of Subaru's shoulder the moment they escaped? Talk about conveniently wasting time xD.
It was explained in great details in the novels. They were afraid of removing the spikes due to blood loss. Subaru lamented that there were no healers present (Rem/Betty used to heal their wounds both still in the mansion).
So,did just ram cut dead petra's arm to try and save subaru? And meili is the one controlling the beast right? And d*mn beako appearing out of nowhere.
By the way, this really bugged me - why the heck does Elsa call Subaru a shut-in (hikikomori)? He hasn't really shown hikikomori behaviour in this world, could she know about his past?
She didn't mean Subaru by this. She was saying that her task was to kill 2 maids and a shut-in. The maids are Frederica and Petra and the shut-in here is Rem.

Good fucking episode, some scenes this episode definitely gave me the same chills from certain episodes from s1 that i had long suppressed and forgotten till now. Bravo to them.
Petra, what an absolute sweet cinnamon roll i swear, to pure for this world with a determination of steel and a heart full of resolve, i mean honestly expected her to say "help me" when Elsa had her by the neck, but instead she said the most badass line in the book "run", i'm pretty sure she knew by a long shot that they couldn't take Elsa down so she wanted them to save themselves instead of picking a near impossible fight, i mean when you're taken hostage with a knife to your neck by a crazy overpowered lady with the nickname "Bowell hunter" what else can you say? But the last scene after Subaru got messed up good, and looked at what he was holding onto, had me heart broken dear God. I had a really bad suspicion it was what i thought it would be, but god damn why did i have to be right this one time ;-; plz protecc Petra, i don't want to feel mortified for the next few episodes having to potentially see her get brutalised every life :c
Hm hm so Frederica definitely is up to something, and we were about to figure it out before Mrs. Bowell Hunter came in. One problem at a time i guess. Damn won't lie as well, really did think Subaru played his cards well at Sanctuary, but turned out to be a mess and maybe the results were a bit worse. I think he's got the correct idea of what to do there, but just got his cards in the wrong order maybe. Elsa's timing is definitely a close shave with Subaru's checkpoint, travel time and what not. Looks like by the time Subaru and Ram arrived in the morning, they had a few hours to spare before she appeared, unless Subaru decides to leave right as he awakes in the graveyard. However definitely seems like Elsa is just as tedious as before. Unless they have something equal to a Reinhard, this fights definitely gonna rack a few more slashes on Subaru's tally chart.
God Roswaal still being a shady guy, unsurprisingly at this point, but my God when Ram stated, that Rem would most likely say in the situation "Please sacrifice me to save Roswaal" i flipped. X to fucking doubt, no way, no she probably fucking wouldn't, maybe due to circumstances there could be a chance, but in this time line the chances of her saying that, is probably equal to my changes of getting an SSR character in a gacha game. God this is the one time Ram's crazy delusion of Roswaal has really tipped me off this much jfc.
That ending tho, Beatrice definitely giving a new meaning to "timing" but you could hear the sheer anger and pain in Subaru's voice yelling her name at the end. That gave me shivers, and i'm scared the reason he sounded so mad and upset, was because the room he was about to enter, was Rem's.
THIS IS WHAT RE ZERO IS ALL ABOUT... AND I JUST LOVE THIS EPISODE, THE STORY AND ACTION ARE GREAT ON TODAYS EPISODE?
can you really trust roswall? it seems subaru having some doubt against him...
is frederica an enemy or not? this episode perhaps answer it with a NO as she helped subaru and friends againt elsa and mabeast!!!
MABEAST AND ELSA IS BACK TO HUNT SUBARU ETC... ohh yeah.. i just miss this re zero experience... the story, action and sufferings of subaru.. well its just sad that they have a hard time dealing with it.
and now we have an idea of where he is restarting... lets see how can they deal with elsa in this current arc.
Re: Zero, as usual, has outdone itself. The beauty of the episode is even more exaggerated to WN readers like me, because of the way they somehow manage to put on screen exactly what so many readers imagined while reading. Memento (The outro) kicking in when Subaru realizes he is holding Petra's hand. . . and nothing else. . . is just something out of this world. Chills all the way down.
Just checked the reddit page and it seems there are many Re zero theories regarding the latest episode, wheter Bea saving subaru.means the restart point has been change.
Well i just cant think of what subaru's reaction could be if that happens...

This was an episode where nothing went right. But i was not expecting Fredrica to be half animal. The animation for the transformation was pretty cool looking.
I wonder why out of all the times, He opened to door to Beatrice..
Hopefully this is not a checkpoint for when he dies again.
surprised this episode was so good considering this was made at home..
loved the episode, this show never fails to give me chills..
both like and don't like how beatrice saved subaru at the end, as it means his "save point" might be inadvertently set farther in where everyone is dead :/
TS4U said: Something is bothering me. In episode 1, Rem 'AFK' and no one remember her, except Subaru. Why Subaru still remember her?
Back in s1 it was found out that Subaru can remember people the White Whale ate. This is old news.
Oh yes I remember. How Subaru still remember Rem????
He has witch of sloth authority and Subaru return by death is witch authority as well because this witch factor he can remember rem, well in theory Subaru is technically already a witch in this term.

Compared to the first season, he turns out to be much more useful than other characters more powerful than him. As well as his courage has also increased his ingenuity, he hoped that in the future he will learn to be a good chess player to face the various returns from death, learn to play cunning knowing the moves of his opponents. Like when he created the alliance with Anastasia and Crusch.
This episode was pretty good and the action scenes was also decent, again with some wonky moments here and there but still decent enough to enjoy.
This episode was supposedly made in their homes due to the pandemic and the quality was the same so that's a relief, we have 7 more episodes to go so hopefully the quality won't degrade in those episodes.
This episode was crazy. It was really painful to watch petra die like that (or at least i think she died). Can't wait to see what Beatrice says to Subaru. Honestly wish i would have just waited for this season to be fully released. I can't stand waiting for these episodes weekly.

He's just a normal human being, why are you expecting so much out of him? Like you can do any better.
I mean, he's making the call to go back and fight to save Rem yet he did nothing at all lol
I mean, he's making the call to go back and fight to save Rem yet he did nothing at all lol
He expected to arrive much earlier than Elsa and see if Frederica was the culprit, but Elsa was told to kill the people in the mansion right before Subaru arrived himself. You can see that Subaru arriving earlier messed up Elsa's plan so she had to get the help of Meili and the mabeasts to be able to kill everyone efficiently.

It takes away from the hype. I've waited patiently years for this whilst managing to dodge spoilers left and right. Don't fail me now y'all.
Wow, people are really handling things differently now. I'm guessing Garfiel only wanted him to do the trials when he was the only one who knew that Subaru could do it, but since he blurted it out to everyone, including Ryuzu and Ram, Roswall's confidante, he couldn't do that anymore without consequence. He could've made it so that everyone thought Emilia was doing them instead of Subaru. And then there's Emilia, who doesn't want to turn tail and run. Props to her.
Even Roswall was acting different, he didn't sound like he trusted or had faith in Subaru anymore. Glad to see someone finally pick up on Subaru's ramblings that could clue them in on RBD. More so than ever, I think (theory)
that Roswall knows something about RBD
That pause that Ram had when Subaru was joking about throwing her off into the distance, Subaru actually did that when he was trying to get Rem back into her senses, but since Rem no longer is remembered, she got confused for a bit, I wonder if their twin psychic link is more powerful than we think, and that she will end up remembering Rem.
Wrote the above while watching, and then it was addressed a moment later lol.
Hmm, so I'm now realizing that the reason why she's more loyal to Roswall than ever is because she has nobody else, she used to have Rem, but now she doesn't, and that's why she was ok with being a sacrificial pawn, because she had nobody else to live and come back for.
Wow, I did not expect Frederica to be so cooperative after suspecting her for so long. My theory was that
she's actually half-mabeast and answered to her creator or to a shaman. But now I'm not so sure. Who does she have an oath/contract with? A witch?
Wait, is Ram using a wand? Probably one that Roswall gave her to channel her mana better, like a portable horn. Maybe because Rem is not around to do the fighting.
Return of the Shamac! Why did he grasp his chest? That didn't happen before...is it because his gate still isn't healed? Or is it because he's using the Witch's miasma for Shamac?
Ram just casually throws Subaru out of the cloud. She's stronger than before.
Wait, so Elsa was roaming around the mansion for two days straight? What for? Looking for someone, like Beatrice? I guess Frederica isn't in cahoots with Elsa after all, unless it's an elaborate act, since we never see her again after she goes off to fight her.
Woah, did not expect Frederica to just rip off her clothes, if she was going to transform, then they would've ripped in the transformation anyways lol
Did not expect her to go full beast. I guess Garf gave the stone knowing that she needed it to fully transform. My theory is that
because its a pair, one sibling needs the other's stone to fully-transform, kind of like how Ram and Rem only had one horn each when they were born.
That's no normal mabeast, it got bats floating around and everything! That's definitely (theory)
someone who has transformed. Elsa? or Maylie?
I'm going to have to go back and watch what happened when Subaru was floating in and out of consciousness. It sounded like Emilia, but that can't be! Edit: Never mind, that was totally Ram, I guess she tried to save Subaru by getting him onto Patrasche, but looks like they got knocked back by that mabeast. Excellent animation.
I have to admit, I started crying when I realized that it was only going to be Petra's arm. I almost threw up from gagging (happens when I get incredibly disturbed). It's been so long since I cried in a Re:Zero episode, I think I might just cry again thinking that, out of joy. I was thinking this would just be another exposition episode. I should've known they were going to do that to Petra when she was acting all cute for too long. That cry of Subaru's got me. Best anguished scream he's ever given in the whole series. Looks like Ram's hair tie and Patrasche's body means they all died. I think Ram had to cut off Petra's arm because she was trapped under the rubble and Subaru wouldn't let go. Lots of jump cuts this episode. I wonder if those were in the LN too. (This you can tell me about, whether or not those random cuts were LN material or not, which would explain a lot).
Brings back memories of when I watched Corpse Party, when someone was left holding just the arm of the person. That was traumatizing then and even more so now.
Maylie, a new name, very interesting. My theory is that
Maylie was the mabeast we saw earlier, and that Maylie is actually the blue-haired girl we saw in S1 who was controlling the ulgarm. So now not only do we have Elsa to worry about, but a super powerful mabeast that looks like Melaquera, the beast in the Frozen Bond OVA (My other theory was that Elsa was the mabeast the whole time)
Hmm...Elsa's client knows that Subaru is a shut-in. Echidona and Satella know about his past. But they couldn't employ Elsa, so who else? (Theory)
Someone with a Gospel that actually talks about Subaru? Would make sense, because Elsa apparently knew the future of what would've happened if Subaru hadn't reset. In that case, her client could be Roswall,
because it seems as if both of them have access to the contents of a future-telling Gospel, and both know more about Subaru than they should. But why would he?
What were those spikes that Elsa threw at them? Was it Elsa? That's a new one. Is she half-porcupine? It looked like Ram fully expected her arm to be shredded, but her arm is stronger than the average human's. Plus, she moved around like an animal when fighting Reinhard.
Beatrice saved Subaru. Is it because she doesn't want to see people die, or does she know that she is being targeted and wants Subaru's help?
We all expected Subaru to die and reset, but I'm glad he didn't. Now it's getting interesting.
Tea was next to Beatrice. It probably was always there, but now tea has a new meaning.
Still think Beatrice is a former Witch, or a relative/friend of a Witch, or a current Witch who has changed her name
Episode was called the Maiden's Gospel. There were three maids, and no Gospel in sight. Very interesting choice for a title.
ok now its confusing hahaha so wait the beast that we saw in Hyouketsu no Kizuna is diff to the beast in this ep? and also did meili make an appearance in s1 if so what ep? subaru is not the shut in its beatrice of course and also satella is just another nickname for echidna right?
OK,this episode is nearly flawless but just some moments disturb my viewing experience.First is the moment between Petra and Subaru,is too cringyy tbh and the second is the appear of Elza.It was kinda anticlimactic. That's all my 'light' critism. And now is the main critism.First of all,as I was mentioned,my critism is not on the plot or story,is the influence of my viewing experience. E.g. the part that subaru and the group are temporarily safe from Elza,i get pissed off becuz they literally just talked 3 minutes and the Elza was like "yeah I'll wait" and stay at the mansion quietly. And the last one is the last second of this episode.Elza just appear from nowhere.Yeah,i know most of the anime have the same situation like this. That's why I don't like. This is the influence that I was talking about. However,it's a great episode after all.Hope the people have same problem with me can accept or endure this influence.
Holy sh*t. This episode was dope, since this was the kind of thing that made continue to watch this series during 2016: The wonderful plotline. I like how this episode is intense as it was. Also Petra was being *ahem* Caesared.

Umm... because you could not?! His checkpoint got changed. He could not save Rem he even killed himself to try to save her but his checkpoint was at the carriage around the time when Rem fought.
‘It may be admitted that if it were possible for us to have so deep an insight into a human's way of thinking, as it shows itself both through inner and outer actions, that every, even the least incentive to these actions and all external occasions which affect them, were so known to us, then his future conduct could be predicted as certainly as the appearance of a solar or a lunar eclipse.’ Critique of Practical Reason, p. 230 of the Rosenkranz.
But except by the "power of knowledge" granted Subaru by the repeated use of Return By Death, the fact is that he and Petra, non-fighter harmless humans, are just useless in the middle of that fight and mess.
Not a surprised that the poor girl died instantly.
The disbalance of abilities in Re:Zero remembers this parody of Avengers:
McBaws said: This show really just went full furry.
Anyway, I can't wait to see what question Beatrice is going to ask Subaru ("Tell Beatrice that Roswaal said to ask the question"). Maybe it's going to have something to do with return by death. It seems Roswaal is aware of Subaru's power, given as he said "this time?" in this episode and had faith that Subaru could beat the witch cultists in the last episode. Can't wait to see how this plays out!

i dont think she called subaru a neet. she said i was supposed to encounter 2 maids and 1 neet at this place. the 2 maids being obvious and neet is probably beatrice.
Not gonna lie, I really like Elsa eve though she's an antagonist. She's so formidable and they're having a difficult time defeating her so when the day comes when she's actually defeated, it's gonna be awesome.
