Dona 🤤 https://imgur.com/a/RjvnyN0

They cut a lot of Dona and Subaru’s conversation which somewhat annoys me as that’s what I was most looking forward in the anime adaptation of volume 10. But I can understand the reasoning

I remember reading the ending scene of today’s episode and just getting chills at the thought of tripping over your own intestines. What a fucked up way to die.

Arc 4 really gets going now, hype as hell. Volume 11 is going to be tough, but amazing. Wonder if we’ll ever get the OP and ED in the same ep tho.

I have read the LN & very honest as LN reader the cut is a must because if you took all the dialogue inside LN you cannot reach next arc in 12 or 25 eposide.

Because arc 4 is very long arc To be honest.

Just imagine crams all arc 4 and 5 in 25 episode even still not enough the book very thicks

But I do hope someday make director cut because of this.

Boi arc 4 is really long journey and full very thick dialogue.

And there it is, Subaru's first death, God dammit! It was surprising to see Elsa again, though. And she's as sexy as ever!

I appreciate Subaru's comment to Echidna, she really looks good in that uniform. I'm really loving her so far

Poor Emilia, you could really feel how terrified she was.

With Subaru's first death, I'm curious as to where his save point will be.

God Rooswal really pissed me off this episode. He's hiding something about the cult AND Emillia.
I'm assuming him referring to Subaru and himself as partners of crime means that Emilia has the potential to, or is destined to do something worthy of being called a crime, but he's just not telling anyone about it.

I assumed Ram was smarter than this, what is her reason for trusting him so blindly?

Also super curious about the new maid and her intentions. I didn't expect her to not be on good terms with Garfiel. I also wonder who her master is... Not to mention the question thing with Beatrice... We're just back to codes and tiny clues I guess.

I wonder what Subaru can do to prevent Elsa from killing everyone though, and who is she working for exactly?

So much to process in this ep! I always knew there was something devious about Roswaal but planning all those awful events?! That was a shock. Then there's the fact that all the doors in the mansion are open... so now I'm really worried about Betty! And last but most horrifying... Elsa is back and she is here to claim Subaru's bowels 😱

Return by Death has been brought back into play so we all know what that means; Subaru is gonna suffer some horrific shit going forwards!

Nice ep, things starting to heat up.

One thing got me confused. How can the villagers and Subaru leave the sanctuary? And if they could do it all this time why havent they done it before? Is it because Emilia was in the trial? Didnt they say something about their souls staying inside the sancturay if they tried to leave?

only mixed blood, Subaru s a normal human much like the rest of Arlam village and Roswaal, Ram could probably leave too considering she s a full blooded Oni as for Emilia she s a half-elf so she cant leave.

The villagers were held hostage and weren't allowed to leave. Now that Emilia is doing the trails (and can't leave the Sanctuary) they are free to go (after some convincing by Subaru).

Because only "half bloods" are held captive. And Subaru, along with Otto is a just a normal human, not a demihuman. So they can pass... but all of the others can not (Emilia is half elf, Garfiel is half-beast ---- hence the scary teeth....)
‘It may be admitted that if it were possible for us to have so deep an insight into a human's way of thinking, as it shows itself both through inner and outer actions, that every, even the least incentive to these actions and all external occasions which affect them, were so known to us, then his future conduct could be predicted as certainly as the appearance of a solar or a lunar eclipse.’ Critique of Practical Reason, p. 230 of the Rosenkranz.

Such a strong episode. 10/10 material

Quite a lot of emotional moments between Subaru & Emilia and both characters are grow rapidly in their own ways. The music during the discussion with Rosvaal made me so excited for the OST to be released - just as the track playing when Subaru arrived at the mansion. Oh and finally after such a long time, our gut loving assassin is back. With this death of Subaru the series is back to its theme and strong selling point. What a thriller it is going to be to investigate and solve this situation.

Small side note: it is so impressing how they integrate CG models in this show. They are quite common but do not stand out as much and still add some flavour to scenes like 3D-PAtrasche in the forest.

Loved the conversation between Echidna and Subaru. So Echidna created that world based on Subaru's memories, that's pretty impressive. So he passed one of the trials, while Emilia keeps failing them.

Roswaal is an intriguing and mysterious character, the conversation with subaru was pretty tense, I was literally waiting for Subaru to punch him, until it happened and Ram stopped him. Shame :P

Elsa is back to cut open Subaru's stomach once again, not going to lie, I had forgotten she was still around! Stuff is getting interesting, I wonder where Subaru will "respawn" again. Another issue I spotted, all doors in the mansion were open. Which means no way of being able to run into Beatrice. These damn cliffhangers though, gonna be a long week once again XD

Echidna's existence in this story blows the whole thing wide open for me. This should get interesting quick.

If someone mad a quit snippet going from the introduction of Rem and Ram to that scene of Ram saying: "I don't know who you're talking about." would be a quick wtf.

One question: why are the characters being suspicious of Frederica? What did she do?

But anyways, God...DAMN was this episode really good. I love how season 2 is really focusing on the mystery in Re: Zero, moreso than the gore, even though this episode did have the gore. Of course, we all watch Re: Zero at least partially for the gore, but the mystery and the plot is the real focus here.
I like this episode much more than episode 4: it's nowhere near as hammy, or rushed.
I don't know if it was intentional or not, but I genuinely felt kinda creeped out when Emilia started freaking out. Something about the animation, the way her teeth were chattering.

I thought the over saturation of the red colors near the end of the episode was pretty hammy foreshadowing that shit was going to happen, but I did feel really tense. That reveal...DAMN! This series has always been really damn good with the cliffhangers, which has definitely contributed to its popularity.

But what's frustrating about the dialogue in this series, is that in one episode it's terrible, then in the next episode, like this one, it's fine.

These days I am tired of writing much...:(

I think the character animation went up a bit in this episode. Emilia couldn't face her past, maybe it's an extended version of that OVA and her identity. Father? I did remember seeing a man with pointy ears in the OVA flashback, but Puck also poses as a father, so I can't say for sure.

Echidna is knowledgeable, but it seems she is alienated by humane thoughts, like when Subaru thanked her. I am really worried about the trouble she might cause Subaru - she might give him emotional trauma even without the intent of doing so. Considering the schemesome Ros-chi is her fanboi, I am sure she has her own ways of 'using' Subaru while not caring about his feelings (cause she can't comprehend them).

Now I'll love it if Subaru comes up next time with a thicc armor covering his bowels

Good thing that white fox reconnected a few things they skipped over in ep 3, I guess it's because they want each episode to end on a cliffhanger, which I absolutely don't mind

Man, I just wish this wasn't a split cour, because the absolute best parts will come then and it'll be hard for me to not spoil my brother about what's about to come (:

this is just speculation

After watching the ep is it just me or does Roswell seem very similar to Subaru, after thinking about it he acts very similar to the way Subaru acted pre ep:18 as if no one else mattered but Emilia, he even seems to know more about Subaru the Subaru does self by state that he knew Subaru would rise to save Emilia....

so is Roswell a failed Subaru from another timeline?

is this foreshadowing or am i losing my sanity

Because even though she isn't the archbishop of Pride, she sure is prideful. All I'm saying is at this point it is not TOTALLY unreasonable for her to show up here when she had some free time. Now of course the way the mansion is setup with the doors open is not something she would know about so duh its suspicious but if I was reading it, I would not be surprised at her being there.

Of course it could just be a happy coincidence for her to kill subaru while waiting to kill someone else :)

Or maybe Roswaal just really didn't like that tone that subaru took against him and Elsa is his chancla :P

I can come up with two theories:
1. Echidna was trying to figure out Subaru using those trials. So he recieved a VIP pass. He can undergo those trials as per his choice
OR
2. Plot Twist! This is the 2nd trial. Though I can come up with a lot of counter points that this shouldn't be true.

Also I would like to see Emilia past. I don't recall us hearing about her Father, but I would like to see what's terrifying her.

I will assume Subaru will go back two days from now and try to convince Garfiel to go back earlier in time.

A slow ep, but the end got me hyped. Also Echidna did look good in that school uniform.

If you haven’t already, watch the Frozen Bond OVA, it’s pretty much necessary at this point (at least imo), it will give you a little more insight into Emilia’s past.

The crystal didnt explode it just teleported Subaru to the Graveyard location the moment they passed the entrance zone.
There was no way to ask Fredrica cause how would they. They only managed to go back because they had a long discussion with Garfield that was skipped in this episode so they could bring the villagers back to their homes.
