| Its a fun show IMO. Characters are decent and the soundtrack is (surprisingly) good, and for one we got a Protagonist with an actual personality and goal, which is quite a rare trait especially during the self insert Isekai craze where most protagonist are just OP walking cardboard. I noticed that people are complaining about him being too "edgy", but i say its way better than your boring, overused, self insert, whiteknight with 0 personality and aspirations type of overpowered Isekai protagonist(s). Though if i would say a bad thing about the show is that they dropped the "RPG" aspect fairly quickly, no more crafty fighting styles from absorbing monster powers because the MC just blast away with his guns, and that is also kinda my second complaint, not a fan of the lore breaking; Dual wielding gun is still fine, but the moment the MC starts spawning cars, minigun, and rocket launchers, the show kinda loses its fantasy aspect First half is quite good, second half is so-so, i'll give this show at least 6. Though the second half aint that bad, the odyssey vibe is quite interesting. Its one of the shows where you just turn off your brain and enjoy it. I'll deffo watch the 2nd season |
| It actually started out as a pretty fun cheesy isekai anime, but the show fell apart when it tried to become a parody of itself with the over the top ecchi characters and scenes. Honestly it was cringey. I could feel how insecure the original author was just by watching this anime. He couldn't let himself just write a bad isekai, had to pretend he was self-aware. |

I think the same like you, from what I read on this anime post I didn't find real reason why it should be bad, just always the same comments like copied by ctrl+c and ctrl+v. i add: cause it goes against their culture and world view they find reasons to bitch about it, and they are trying to force their view and culture on it, i say Jap animes are fine the way they are they don't hurt any1, its different type of art and should stay the way it is sure some have legit critique to but others just nitpick and search stuff to bitch about in animes |

| Because people are fucking toxic and entitled. Just because one or two aspects of a show goes against their agendas (f.e. not-good-enough-adaptation, bad CGIs, loli, ecchi, cultural differences, lack of LGBT/coloured characters, etc. ), they'll not hesitate to give it a 1 or 2 without ever looking at the whole picture. Judge an anime on your own, take the scores with a big pinch of salt (or better, just don't take it at all), and never think an anime sucks to you because it sucks to other people. Arifureta in particular might seem to have mediocre CGIs and a bit confusing at the start to me, and people say it sucks compared to the LN, but I enjoyed it nonetheless because of its unique characters, much more than those overrated (to me) shounen jump shows. We have our own taste after all. |

| After reading this about this show every where, specially isekai discussions I don't get all the hate and hyperbole people would use about it being a dumpster fire, It started super strong and became a bit more light hearted and more SoL as the time went by, much like Shield Hero, CGI is bad but that is basically most if not in all of anime, heck I find he soldiers and shit in Overlord way worse, same with how edgy that one is but everyone loved that one. So I guess this show pissed off edgelords not being edgy enough and SoL lovers not being as comfy as it could be. |

ImAnApple said: once again MAL proved me i should not always read reviews or look at the score (well not that i read the full reviews, since they are, imho, way too long, so long, it feels like its longer than the anime i just watched) . i cant believe how so many extremely bad reviews made it to the tops.. the first 5 top reviews on that anime page give that anime overall rating: 1. lol. first of all i didnt read the manga or novels, but i really liked this anime. the humor was nice, the characters were nice. but they could have completely taken out the fact that they traveld worlds, since it was so not really fitting in there. but to be fair, "overlord" or even "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime" are the same in this case, if you look at them. they only show like.. idk.. a few minutes how they were transfered into the world? after that, the anime is all about the ingame and fantasy world - thats actually similar to this anime, with the fact that they barely waste time in showing how they were transfered - since all "transfering into a game world" happen through a really strange event, like magic, death or modern technology as in SAO. lol. so i think it is fine what they did in this anime. fun thing is, everyone suddenly becomes top class movie experts when it comes to animes and movies xD the way people write their reviews sometimes, i think: wtf is wrong with them. as if they were pros in making animes. the same with soccer world cup, lol. everyone thinks they have to comment and know it better but never played a match/made an anime themselves. i wonder if these people watch the anime, or just 'watch' it to write down tons of critical notes. if the latter, of course one wouldnt enjoy anything. but then, i can understand some critics. the animation was kept at a minimum. most of the time it was made very simple, as if they wanted to save budget. but honestly, i think it didnt turn out bad. especially there are people who hate "transformed into a game" animes, but they still watch them and then give bad reviews. thats what i dont get, lol. i mean.. for example I myself dislike most sport or music animes (there are exceptions though), so i just dont watch them since i wouldnt enjoy them. not because they are bad, but because i wouldnt like the topic. so why should i waste time and watch it, just to write a negative review about it, when i wont like the topic in the first place, which has nothing to do with the anime itself. well i wrote more than intended. what i actually wanted to say is: i can understand if someone has critics towards this anime, but i cant understand how it has nearly a score of 7 (which is pretty good i think), while it has so many bad and negative reviews at the tops. lol. (dont get me wrong, the score can stay like this, i dont want it do drop down any further. but how the hell are so many negative reviews pushed up? they are totally not helpful and not objective enough. most of the reviews at the top rows have so many hate-sentences and totally manipulate your own opnion if you didnt watch the anime first) basicaly, if you ask me, the LN readers need a review for themselves, and the ones never read the LN or Manga need reviews for themselves. well of course animes can jump over a few chapters,and that could make them bad. but one really should see the difference between people who read the LN/Manga, and who didnt. Finally, someone says what needs to be said! I'm always bumping with those TRASHIER reviews (they have a good structure and all, but their content is rotten) on the top and I just end up learning a huge lesson: Don't trust MAL reviews! They are sh*t! Don't represent the anime whatsoever and its audience at all! Let's see this one, for example, the top 3 reviews score 1,1,2; this means (looking at the anime stats): - It represents the 2 less voted scores; - A total of 5% of the public opinion - What 17,5k people think out of +350k All of this only shows that the anime is heavily downrated because those MINORITIES!!! have nothing else to do! Conclusion: MAL reviews (and this could be said for the so-called reviewers as well) are trash and shouldn't be there influencing other people at all (or at least trying to, since many people don't listen to them). |

| For the ones that like to bother others (like me) with "you should read the manga/LN", please stop. I don't read mangas, I will NOT read mangas, I will not listen to what manga readers complain in adaptation to the anime counterpart, I only watch anime except in very few and specific situations. |
