| https://myanimelist.net/anime/38080/Kono_Oto_Tomare and https://myanimelist.net/anime/38889/Kono_Oto_Tomare_2nd_Season could need the romance tag. Heavily hinted that romance might develop between at least 2 of the chars. And even if it isn't the "feeling" is there. When I quickly checked the list of stuff tagged here with "romance". Definitely a lot more stuff that has the tag even though it is less romance. So no reason to not have it here as well. (Unless you make up some reason like "I just don't want it", "the system is crap anyways and we basically don't care and give out tags randomly" or something like that. :D) ( Actually I noticed that either the tag is used more strictly or I just have watched different stuff. Not that many recent shows I watched that were tagged romance. Then again there is tons of older stuff that is tagged even though maybe just in few episodes something non-major in that direction is happening. This one: https://myanimelist.net/anime/38759/Sewayaki_Kitsune_no_Senko-san though is a recent example that I remember well - where there is absolutely not the slightest bit of romance. Between the main and neighbour they didn't even start to develop something. Between the main and the fox god girl it is more that she is caring like a mother for him. But maybe someone saw her in her loli fox form and hat some weird fantasies. ;)) |

A full episode every Sunday night followed the morning block short, but later became the main broadcast time." So, since it first aired as 5-minute short episodes (making it 120 episodes total), MAL counts them as such. |

| This is in regards to the Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These - Seiran 1-3 entries. There seems to be some confusion on both MAL's & ANN's part about the format the 2nd season is going to take, as neither site has it listed correctly. This is particularly hilarious on ANN's part, since it was they who actually reported the correct format in one of their news articles. If you read this ANN News Article: New Legend of the Galactic Heroes TV Anime Premieres on April 3 (dated 2018-02-28 02:02 EST) You'll see the 2nd sentence of the 2nd paragraph says, "The event screenings of the second "season," The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These Seiran (The New Thesis: Stellar War), will then play in theaters, as three films of four episodes each, in 2019." So the entries for Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu: Die Neue These - Seiran 1, Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu: Die Neue These - Seiran 2, & Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu: Die Neue These - Seiran 3 all need to have their episode counts changed to 4. I will try to enter the changes myself, but I have never done that sort of thing on MAL before, so I am posting this just in case. I have noticed a lot of confusion around & about the anime highway, while cruising through various comments boards, forums, etc. MAL's entry is, ofc, often mentioned. EDIT: Apparently, episode count isn't one of the things we regular folk are allowed to adjust, thank goodness. So I'll be relying on The Powers That Be for your assistance. Thanks! |

However, the majority of examples I saw online kept it lowercase. One could argue the 'e' in d'etre should be 'ê', but I figured if they are using the the borrowed English variant, it would be fine to just include that as a synonym. I think the idea is to correct stylization that doesn't take away anything from the title. So titles that are all lowercase, uppercase, capitalize English articles improperly in a title, or jumble words together without spaces, should be modified. IDOLiSH7 preserves it's stylization because of the mismatch of upper and lowercase characters but ef: A Tale of Memories. gets the later words capitalized, even though it is originally all lowercase. |

Good point. I am not sure what this site's guidelines say on capitalization. In your example, they left the 'ef' in lower case despite modifying subtitle. As to the 'Ê', there is a guideline that specifies that such accented characters will not be used when romanizing (see below). Oh, and that's how it would typically be used in a title in English; in a sentence, raison d'être — hopefully the bbcode italics work here. Personally, I'm hoping for reasonable consistency. Section IIIa Titles https://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=515957 Thanks for clearing up my misconception with regard to the term. As far as using special characters in titles, I thought that only applied when romanizing Japanese characters (e.g. substituting ū with uu in saipū), but you may be right about it applying to other character too. There are a lot of examples of entires in the database where special characters are used in the main title. @lanblade Thoughts? The question being, which, if any, special alphabetic character are allowed for main titles and should we add special characters to a title if not initially used, but are the standard way to write the word (e.g. this entry). |

That said, on the 'eve' site, it is written without any upper case letters. It is also written this way on the official youtube page (link can be found on the page below). But I'm not sure of this site's policy on this matter. Regards. https://eveofficial.com/news/20191010190030.html If that's how it's usually written, then yes, I think that would be preferred (I don't speak French). Raison d'être Kwan is correct on the special characters in titles. That rule is only for romanizing the title. For this music video, nothing is romanized. The title will be represented as it is in its native language, French. Our music video is a common French saying that translates to "reason of being" as in the purpose of why we exist. The awkward part is that French has several capitalization styles for books which have different hierarchies. So we just need to slow walk through the break down. The first word in a book title is always capitalized no matter which style is chosen. So we know it should be Raison at least. Next is the dee. Which will be lowercase eg. https://myanimelist.net/anime/8214/Tekkamen_wo_Oe__dArtagnan_Monogatari_yori this means "of" and you usually see it attached to names. Like Marie-Antoinette d'Autriche (Marie-Antoinette of Austria). Next is etre/Etre/être; I can tell you already that it must have the circumflex as that is how the word is written in French straight up in a dictionary. Now as for capitalization, the ê is favored. This word is a noun in French when used in this context. If a title is composed only of nouns then it would be Être. But because with have the d' preposition it's no longer two nouns. It is a sentence (hence it being a phrase). Sentence book titles in French are capitalized like normal sentences (eg. Harry Potter à l'école des sorciers / Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone). @ Kwan, for your examples Déjà vu = French phrase following sentence case. The Déjà is the first word so it's capitalized. DušaN = Slavic name with a stylization capital N. Like IDOLiSH7 or https://myanimelist.net/anime/275/Love%E2%99%A5Love, flairs are acceptable if it's hyper unique. ef remains lowercase b/c it is unsure what ef actually is. A nonsense word or an acronym? Mods kept it in its original format to accommodate that, while the rest of its title is just normal text so it would be capitalized like normal. Étoile = French word L'Œil du Cyclone = should actually be L'Œil du cyclone. The Œ is capitalized because this sentence starts with an article L' so it's following that capitalization rule. While cyclone gets lower-cased as the title as a whole is a sentence which follows the other capitalization rule that's on a lower hierarchy. |

If you could clarify one more thing for me… in the guideline mentioned above (Section IIIa Titles) it provides two examples. The obvious macron case which fits into your comments but also a circumflex accent — I'm not really sure how that might that be applied? |
