| The anime really picked up in the last 3 episodes. The last 3 episodes would be a 8/10. However, this anime felt like wasted potential, with characters that seemed like knock-offs of OreGairu, and there being unnecessary fanservice. There were also many characters that served no purpose, such as Koenji. The awfully slow pacing and filler-ish episodes in the middle were quite boring. However I was pleasantly surprised by the ending. My final score is a 5/10, but if there is a second season, I would definitely watch. |

| Things are too complicated but at the same time it just got interesting. Great end to an arc that will definitely make people want to start reading the light novels; including myself! I thought main character dude was supposed to be revealed to be a total psychopath, but now after properly watching it, it’s not that bad. Dude just wants to win lol Overall it was actually mostly intriguing and a fun watch. But so was anime like akame ga kill which I gave a 4/10 to. Classroom of the elite also gets a 4/10. I would still love to see another arc adapted especially post-reveal of main character’s true, well, character. Also want to know more of that backstory that was briefly teased throughout. Looks like our man grew up in a lab and is some sort of super human. Wonder if they can deliver on such potential. |

| So Ryuen wasn't really a complete asshole. His plan and sacrifice for his class was outstanding. Ah yes ofc, the "All according to plan" trope. Ayanokouji was secretly the mvp again. "All people are nothing but tools. It doesn't matter how it's done. It doesn't matter what needs to be sacrificed. In this world, winning is everything. As long as I win in the end, it's all that matters" - Ayanokouji I don't remember the anime character who said this but "people who do not care how things get done are the most dangerous ones" I... kinda believe it now Could've been a 7.5/10 if didn't have much clichés and the mc got a development, so 6.5/10 |

| And that concludes the first season. Ofc they had to throw a serious "teaser/cliffhanger" type of ending with Ayanokouji's words BUT OMFG THAT LOOK ON HIS FACEEE!!!!! I finally found the scene with him that I saw from a gif someone sent months ago. Him saying "I've never once thought of you as an ally. Not you. Not Kushida. Not Hirata" gave me so many chills and then, again, the look on his face, holy fuck. Poor Horikita though, don't really care about Kushida, she's a shit character with all that random and garbage edginess. I was still surprised to see Class D being in the first place, mainly because they haven't showed anything, but then everything made sense and it wasn't overly complicated, so loved that. But man, him basically saying that "it doesn't matter what happens to the others as long as I get to the top" makes me scared, I hope he's not going to kill Horikita or someone else to achieve something. Might be paranoic but who knows. The look on those two when they realized they were the last 2 in the competition was great and now the Class C guy also had a big win from this. I still wonder how Ichinose has 2, almost 3 million points. I guess we would know what's happening behind Class B. Great first half, not so amazing second half but the ending was good for what it was. Guess I really have to read the LN but I just can't get the same feelings from reading as I do from watching (with voice actors, OST and all that). If something big happens in the LN, I won't be able to react as much as I would like to and when the anime is going to continue, I'll already know what is going to happen so I can't react the way I want (again). Ayanokouji is a great character and same with their teacher, I really don't know how she knows everything about him or what that facility is and why those kids died? But apparently the man who wanted Ayanokouji to be expelled was his father, damn. |

| I knew Ayonokouji was the worst of them all!!! Manipulating and using everyone for his own desires. The show is above average, but Ayanokouji is a great and unique protagonist. This anime will get a 8/10 from me! |

| Interesting concept and setting, but awful edgy protagonist. He's probably the most cringe anime protagonist i've ever seen so far. When someone is too edgy, it went back to being humorous, this guy went past that and becomes a total cringe edgelord. Truly a wasted potential. This guy makes Tatsuya or Kirito looks like a charismatic public figure. Haven't read the LN so I'll give him a benefit of doubt that he suffers from bad adaptation. |
| All well that ends well. To be honest, I don't really see what is the points of school club since the main plot of the story is "merit". It totally contributes nothing at all. I hope it will elaborate more later. By the way, I really prefer Kushida over Horikita. Horikita is so plain being a female MC and her reason(background story) is most likely just wanted to be acknowledge and then act so childish. On the other hand, Kushida is totally different. |

| Rewatched this first season after the season 2 announcement and this was really dogshit, a lot worse than the 'really bad' view that I had 4 and a half years ago. It is adapting arguably 3 of the worst volumes of the series and isn't a great adaptation whatsoever either so that did not help but the whole season felt like a waste of time and poorly executed with its terrible characters, plot issues and weakly thrown together tension elements. The two fanservice episodes where fuck all happened did not help. This was a season that gave me the energy of thinking that it's way smarter and more intelligent than it ever was close to being, and it showed with its results. Ayanokoji's monologue at the end was too short and the whole conclusion to the season felt too short but at least there's a season 2 so that cliffhanger being thrown in at the end doesn't feel as bad. At least the volumes after this are better than the first 3 from what I remember, hopefully Karuizawa can save that season somewhat. This season was pretty awful, didn't even look that good too compared to expectations. Some designs and color choices were awkward here compared to how they were in the LNs. |

He does his things, doesn't explain, and moves on to the next one. Man doesn't give a shit. LOL. Had a lot of fun with this season. Now, I'm looking forward to the next season. |

| Pretty good anime all things considered. The pool episode was pretty mid but I really liked the whole "Operation: Peep on the Girl's Dressing Room" subplot. It was dumb but very funny. Also Kinda like how ominous Ayanokoji's backstory is and how he's just this genius dude who no one knows anything about. Anyways, looking forward to the next season. |

| broo the reveal.. what Good Season Finale Class C and Class A got wreck.. now i understand why so many people love Ayanokoji. lmao Horikita Tsundere mode, meanwhile Ayanokoji be like "yeah whatever, good job tool. "I never once thought of you as an ally" 7/10 First Season First six episodes was good, after that kinda meh and felt like missing something but it was saved by this Season Finale episode. i'm so excited for Season 2 now in Summer 2022. |

| Man this was good. This has great rewatch potential, I'm rewatching this after like a year and it was just as enjoyable as first time. All prepared for Season 2, hardly a week left till it starts airing. Horikita became really cute in the end, Tsundere as some people are calling her, I'm liking her more as she is now, looking forward to her opening up more and acting all cutesy and stuff xD, best girl of this anime for sure. This has a lot of potential especially with 2 more seasons confirmed we might get to explore this story a lot more, the system, full backstory of Ayanokoji, the secrets of why some students have so many points, the secrets of top faces of class A and of course whether class D will be able to get promoted to class A or not. Very interesting to say the least. The sensei's last comment of how Ayanokoji's dad called and said that Ayanokoji will drop out on his own accord was intruiging, excited to see how shit goes down. Looking forward to Season 2 with high hopes and expectations. Also hoping we get some more nice fan-service, it's a waste if this show doesn't get any afterall xD. |

| Season two's gonna be airing soon!!! And I'm glad that I could rewatch the whole of season 1 just in time. This season was just as I remembered, it was....... AWESOME!!!! I very well remember that one moment where my man Ayanokoji outsmarts everyone!!! That was just good, like really good!!! Ayanokoji's way of thinking never ceases to surprise me!!! The other episodes were good too!! I guess I got a pretty good recap of season 1. Hyped for Season 2!!!! |
| This was quite a good watch I must say. The MC is incredibly based. Sigh it really doesnt take much for me to like an MC now, just dont be a white knight and Im in.. 7/10 because its a very fun watch but despite its appearance nothing more. |

| I have very ambivalent feelings. The first few episodes seemed weak to me. Ayanokoji with his poker face and robotic voice. Cardboard dialogues. And these situations with missing facial expressions in other characters? And how many times have we seen this move with experiments on children? It's so banal it's boring. The island arc is only good for the last episode. But I like the main idea. If the school wants to raise politicians, all these games are a good help. Meritocracy as it is. And it looked very easy, surprisingly. I'll try the second season though. |
| That inner monologue made no sense given his actions & what he's said all season... Trying to lay low, under achieve, deliberately get the bare minimum scores to advance... hardly a "do whatever it takes to win/ sacrifice anyone" mindset. Hell, just wasting his own points to keep the lowest achievers from failing or helping others repeatedly, I can guarantee there's no twist that makes those efforts helping others worth it to solely benefit him. He can say they're being used & pawns to him, but I'm willing to bet there's no direct benefit to many of the things he's done helping others, aside from indirect effect of having people like him enough to cooperate with him. That's not some genius master plan, that's basic human relationships. |
