shit i thought Sakura Quest had the best Finale this season but this was simply amazing

so much to comment on but with Yagami being the silly legend that she is going off to most likely their version of the Uibsoft studio in Paris (turns out it was Christina's sisters place)

it was a bittersweet farewell i feel like it's safe to say it's official between Ko X Rin i waited so long for it

dunno about everyone else but this felt like such a step up from S1 8/10 hoping we get some sort of S3/movie and see ko return

Rin x Kou scene was fantastic. Made me all warm and fuzzy.

Aoba thinking Mozuku was Yagami ;____; omg I teared up

Momo's character was definitely redeemed throughout the season.

And then Aoba - Kou scene made me tear up again ;____;

And then the scene where the OP is playing and they all say goodbye ;____; That really made me cry.

Kouuuu ;_____; <3

I still find it odd that a lead character designer and lead programmer wouldn't receive the game for free lol

Either way, FANTASTIC season. Overall, I absolutely loved the angst and bits of drama and seriousness that were added, as it went above your typical slice of life comedy, and actually ended up developing the characters. I don't think a single episode this season bored me.

Overall, I loved Season 1, but found this to be a very positive improvement. 9/10. Can't wait for more once we get more manga content.

P.S: Rin x Kou OTP.
Nene x Umiko close 2nd.

I'd have included Aoba x Hifumi, but they were more a thing in season 1 than in season 2.

Oh oh, and the yuri/bait was next level this season. Extra points for that!

Meanwhile, this was probably my favorite scene in the season.

Now to find a replacement show ;-;

Up until Kou got on the plane I still thought Aoba and Rin were going to change her mind, because that would have been the "happy ending", right?. But oops - this is anime, and anime surprises you sometimes. So they kept it real.

This is one of my favorite Slice of Life shows ever and I'm really sad to see it go. I suppose there could be a 3rd season someday but for now they have exhausted practically all the manga material. But if enough merch sells, maybe there could be a movie similar to the K-On!! movie, except they would go to Paris instead of London. Just my idea.

My only real complaint is that Hifumi all but disappeared in the 2nd half of the season. Most New Game!! fans I know rank Hifumi as Best Girl or at worst 2nd or 3rd best. I really wanted to see her overcome her social anxiety and be talking normally to everyone by the end of the season.

5/5 for the episode, 9/10 for the season and 9/10 for the whole series. I will really miss these girls and I hope they come back some day.

This show was really cute and I loved the finale. Almost cried multiple times. I really hope there's gonna be a season 3, it'll be sad without Kou though (unless they do a time leap between seasons lol). Just curious, does the manga go far enough for her return or is she gone for good?

The game is done, and so, we have finally arrived at the finale of New Game!!, which should have been called New Game+. Yagami announces early on in the episode that shes leaving, and things go... surprisingly well, with some tears shed here and there of course, and with plenty and I mean PLENTY of feels to go around. Momiji finally did something to justify her becoming a character which is nice, she just kind of showed up and really didn't bring anything to the table aside from being another cute face to look at. But most importantly the SHIP HAS SAILED AND IS GOING STRONG AS HELL. HOORAY FOR THE LOVE-BIRDS. Even though they been temporarily split apart.

Anyway, this anime is great and SO deserved this season, though I can't say it hit as hard as the original, it was still damn good and I love seeing the girls again. 9/10.

I gave Season-1 a 7/10 (almost gave it an 8 after finishing it, but i always wait for the post show high to wear off and sleep on it) and i came really close to an 8 this time also, but i landed a strong 7... so i guess u could say up to a light 8. ( i wish MAL let us do half or Qtr points)
Ultimately i liked it a little more than the first season though!

Im Sad that its over though, this is one of the few shows i watched weekly this season. As for the ending: I like the way it ended quite a bit! Ko is my Best girl, and the way she bounces off of Aoba is one of my favorite parts of this show, so this was quite moving!

As for the season, it nicely wrapped up to where the manga is currently.. but I'm not sure if they're still continuing the manga?
does anyone know? We are caught up to volume 6 now.. so even if we did get a season 3 i bet it will be a while, since they'd need to put out a few more volumes.

Y'all thinking Kou's going to Ubisoft... Why would she not get hired at this Animeverse's equivalent of Eidos (SO MANY TITLES), or Dontnod (FPS, RPG, 3D Visual Novel)?

As a whole I think this season was slightly less lackluster than the first. A lot less time devoted to making the actual game. Frist season focused a lot on the grind and those all-nighters and actually making the characters and growing. This season definitely focused a lot more on the characters themselves and just more SoL moments. A fair trade off because we have so many great characters in the show, the only downside is, character growth was pretty minimal.

Nenechi definitely had the most growth by far, followed by Aoba. Hifumi had some when she took the leader role, but that wasn't really used to its fullest potential. Hajime had a bit too when she had a passion for making game ideas, but that became more of a comedic gag.

The ending was definitely as bittersweet and endearing as the first season. Never fails to get you teary-eyed. Ko and Rin both crying over her leaving was sad AF. I was waiting for Aoba to get her last speech and crying scene in and I wasn't disappointed, and of course that got me sad AF too.

And after how dicked over Aoba was in the beginning, it was nice to see that even though Ko was leaving, everything came full circle and Aoba had a chance to get some recognition for all of the work she put in. Ko invited her on stage at the conference, and she even had a little credited tagline on the back of the box of the game.

Fuckin hell I love this series, I could watch another 20 seasons of this. They could give this more episodes than One Piece and I would still watch it. I really hope we get a season 3. With Yagami working in France, the newly introduced characters, and the new spark for growth that lit a fire in Momo and especially Aoba, they still have so much more to show. They still have so many directions they can take the story in, and there's always new kinds of games they can make.

Watched out of obligation since the introduction of the mini weebs and Nene push. I mean all they did was cut down ln Hifumi screen time for 6 episodes.

Ko going isn't enough to cut the cast size down to a point where a season 3 would be something i care for. If the new characters were remotely likable, maybe i would care less about the lack of Hifumi.

The only redeeming feature of this last half season has been Aoba momentarily telling Ko off.

Bon voyage, Kou. Hope that you may be able to surpass your skills overseas...

Oh well, there ends my anime list to watch this Summer.

But I think we have lesser Hifumin moments this time around.

I give props to the yuri moments all throughout.

8/10, and on to the Fall season!

Great finale to an enjoyable and intriguing series! Unlike most shows this season, this finale felt more like an ideal one with all the cast of characters bidding farewell to one of the leads of the series. It was perfectly implemented too with the notable build-up to it. Couldn't have, possibly, asked for a better ending than this honestly.
Overall, a straight 8/10 to the series and a solid 5/5 to this finale episode. Initially, to be honest, I thought this series was going to be the more fan service-ish season with Hifumi stealing the spotlight during the first couple of episodes or so. All of a sudden, drama was added into the mix and I felt a little out of place but as the show progressed, it made great developments and so it felt more reasonable as the story dragged on.
Hopefully, news of a third season will be announced in the near future because it will be fascinating to see how Yagami returns back and to see Aoba's development as a character. However, even if there is not to be a third season, I will be somewhat satisfied with how this season ended things off.
Here's hoping for a third Season, anyway...

I agree on the lack of Hifumin even thougj they gave her some charcter progression this season she didn't have that much free time.

Good season with a mix of humor and emotions. Watching this last ep I realized how high quality and cute the art is for this show. Season 3 pls.

Damn...Aoba called Kou an Asshole...thats actually pretty awesome because Kou at times was an asshole towards Aoba. Even though that did make Kou a much better character development wise.

Fantasic end to the series. I would like a season 2 with Hifumi taking over Kou position and maybe seeing Aoba being promoted as well. Also want some more Hajime development, maybe her bettering herself making a script for a new game.

I liked Hifumi's idea for a futuristic game.

It hurt me as much as I expected, what a wonderful episode to end a fantastic sequel.

I wonder which direction will the story take now that Kou left the company, she was so important to everyone, Aoba now doesn't have her role model and the motive she started doing this around anymore, this will be the start of so many things for her!

Guys, stop assuming Kou will work for Ubisoft... There are many game development companies here (I'm French and worked in the game industry). If we consider just the size of Eagle Jump, I see at least a dozen of candidates, dozens if she goes to a smaller company.

To be honest, I felt like this second season, they spent a little more time in fleshing out old jokes than showing much of the SoL portions of each characters lives more than focus on the game development. I guess that's why things felt a little off when compared with the first season.

That said, it wasn't bad or anything, just different from what we got in Season 1. We got to see each of the girls gain more experience and fit into their new roles in the company as they developed from a professional standpoint. We also saw a slight changing of the guards, what with Yagami leaving for the time being, whilst new girls Momoji and Narumi came in to continue the line of succession. Adorable Nene joined as well after all her promise shown early in the season.

A third season could definitely be made of this show, but a whole lot of things would have to go wrong with their third game for a season to be interesting enough. As things are, I feel like this was a great send-off point for the show and its characters. Hopefully somewhere down the line we get to see an OVA of Kou returning to Eagle Soft or something, or maybe a collab effort between her new company and the old team. That would definitely make for a great story.

amen and hallelujah!
i have mixed feelings though, since if you read the manga, they cut out A LOT of nudity and Ecchi elements and made it more of a CGDCT/SOL show
which makes it more respectable.. since the context for the ecchi is forced in the manga.. but i still kinda wish i could see more ko pantsu

Bittersweet ending imo. The feells when Rin began to cry was sad. She's know Yagami for a long time so it was sad to see her cry. Aobo too although I felt more connection between Rin and Yagami.

Really hope for a season 3 or at least an OVA where it shows Yagami in France.
Overall season 2 was lit, and for me best girl is Nenechi :)

previous season Hifumi is best girl, this time it's Nenechi. Would've given this an 9 like season 1 but minus 2 bcoz of Aoba's inferiority complex which was rather forced and unnecessary and they kept doing it in the middle of the show and definitely bcoz of Naru, f*ck Naru, she will forever be a b*tch to me

My opinion of this series really went up this season. To the extent that while I think this is a reasonable and satisfying conclusion. I definitely wouldn't mind another season or two. It wasn't jaw dropping. But this season had some significant character development. One note characters gaining layers by the end. As evidenced in this finale by Momo and Aoba finally understanding one another. It also continues to be an occasionally pretty damn interesting look at making video games. Bringing up minor details as plot points. You as a consumer might not think about.

But what really made this season work. Was at the risk of sounding pretentious the raging pathos. There were so many moments where you felt for the characters and their plight. Almost everyone got a big sympathetic scene this season. And all the goodbyes with Ko this episode. Especially Rin and Aoba were tearing my heart out. When I first started watching this series I thought it was going to be a dumb fan service heavy slice of life. With a questionable art style. I little expected 24 episodes later I'd be feeling such a strong sense of sadness over these characters. I give this season a solid 8/10.

Nene and Narumi worried about Umiko wanting to leave was cute too!
Aoba and Momo are going to spend a lot of time together, don't lost your girl, Hifumi!
A third season would be more than welcome! 8/10
