| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Probably the best episode of the series imo. It showcased the best among the best of the divers at a competitive level. The buildup that led to this point finally paid off. However, I think the show itself was...pretty underwhelming, mainly issues with the pacing. I'm surprised they still did some more background storytelling in the finale. Oh well. Won't be missing this show but I look forward to Noitamina's Inuyashiki for Fall. |

| Fever... Everyone talking to female coach out of staying. So it was Nakamura-san's character who was invited to go to the US, not the coach, for guaranteed recovery. The couple there and actually cheering him up with their hearts! Everyone to their best and realizing their true goal. Did he not make it (not showing main guy's final dive...)? lol @ Sugita-san's character and Sakura-san's character combi. |

| All the characters misunderstood the coach' intention. Seems like Youichi manged to pull it off and Shibuki did his swan dive. Though we didn't see Tomoki's dive. Had a hard time watching this but the finale was actually good. |

| I thought a good job was done with how the dives in the episode were executed. It was disappointing that Tomoki's dive wasn't animated though. Overall the show gets a 6/10 from me. |

Kohta said: I'm a bit ticked off that they didn't even show Tomoki's last fucking dive..... or the final score.... What even is that.... Agreed...how disappointing. I'd rather see his last dive animated and him not being the representative than not seeing his dive and him becoming representative. All the excitement went to Yoichi's amazing dive, and none for Tomo :/ The story's flow was all over the place. There's wasn't a proper climax, and felt like there were random climaxes which were quickly resolved. Especially in this last episode, we started with Yoichi's failed dive, and then it was all okay. Then again when Yoichi was having trouble walking up the stairs, but then everything was great again. Also the drama. I can't get over how terrible the drama with Tomo and his girlfriend was. That being said, I still enjoyed most of the episodes. I stuck around mostly for the characters because I found them likable despite them also sometimes being stupid. I also really liked watching the ED, and the ED song was quite calming. |

| Plot Armor the finale? One moment Yoichi is failing dives, then he's instantly better once the coach explains the situation that the guys misunderstood. Then he becomes a pro diver again, random dramatic stair climb and then he wrecks everyone and gets first? What? Not to mention Tomo getting selected and they didn't even show his dive. MDC were shown somewhere in the middle of the pack and at the end 2 of them got selected. Well, whatever. I liked how the Pinky dude got selected, the last scene with him and Yoichi going at each other was fun to watch. Overall, this was a pretty average show. I wasn't expecting anything great but I was hoping it would at least be as good as Free, seems I was mistaken. The story was all over the place, one moment we're trying to get the club to survive by aiming for the Olympics, then we go into random love triangle drama and then some random teen angst drama. The show lacked a concrete goal and direction, there should have honestly been more emphasis on the sport itself. They should've decided whether they wanted to focus on the sport or character drama, I get the sense they wanted to achieve a working mix of both but unfortunately the direction just didn't hold up to that and as a result we have a mediocre show with no meaningful theme. Hardly any of the characters passed of as likable to me. 6/10, cause it was at least better than Battery. |

| Best episode without a doubt,it gave off a lot of the typical sports vibe I was missing most of the time, that's why I'm so sad that this show didn't show more of the competitions. Well, one can't expect more from one cour. As a sports fan,I got a little disappointed by this one,but it was still a solid watch ,except for the relationship drama. 5/10 |

| Quite honestly I felt the pacing a little off for this one. I understand that all four divers needed their closure in this episode but seeing them one after the other getting there without a break looked cheap even. Also, considering there were very specific agreements for the representative to be chosen it was disappointing not seeing how Tomo beat everyone else with his last dive and the fact that the synchronized diving wasn't mentioned until NOW also seemed to kinda come out of nowhere? Everything just wrapped up too nicely too quickly in my opinion. Overall I think there were unnecessary subplots in the series like the girlfriend and brother one: Just there to cause conflict and when not needed anymore they were all ok again just like that, it happened here again with the coach whose real reasons to talk about USA made everyone just go "Oh, ok then; I'll be perfect now". Would have loved to see the characters develop through a conflict that was actually relevant to the story or better built up to the conclusion. It wasn't necessarily a bad series (it was way better than Battery for this studio) but kinda "meh", the ending didn't help much its case and it's a shame because a well-managed ending could have done a lot for it. |

| I don't know why there's comparison between this and Battery. I watch all sports anime (excluding female-leading anime) and I can say that they're both very good and extremely bold to the point that I can't believe they're adapted from light novel from ten or twenty years ago. Now, what is the next shirtless boys anime? Oh, I strongly hope Hinomaru Zumo get adapted. |

| Really good finale which makes me give the show the higher rating in the end. They wrapped up the little character studies pretty well, like all of them which is respectable by itself. Felt like a good sports show in this episode. Thumbs up for this. |

| It was a good finale. I felt everyone's anxiety during the diving competition, and seeing them happy and contented afterwards. Asaki-san made it clear that she's not going to America for herself, but for Shibuki's some sort of therapy, so he can dive properly again. Youichi and Pinky will be Japan's Olympic representative for the synchronized event. Nice. The only thing that pisses me off is that they didn't show Tomoki's final dive that made him one of Japan's Olympic representatives. What the hell! Anyhoo, I decided to give this show a 7/10. Almost dropped this so many times, but decided to go on and give it a chance, and I managed to finish it. Good for Tomoki, Youichi, and Pinky! |

The last few episodes including this one focused mostly on Youichi and Tomo was kind of dropped. They should have shown his final dive. But I always found the other characters more interesting than Tomo anyway so I don't really care. 6/10 for me. |

I compared them because they're from the same studio and I honestly didn't like it but there are studios that can produce series of the same genre and have it be a huge change for better or worse. In this case I thought they did do a better job with this one. |

| What...did I just watch a fairytale...? Everyone gets what they want all of a sudden lol what is this Tomoki, who barely appeared as a main character in the last two episodes goes to the Olympics, and Youichi has to work with Atsuhiko, so they are also going to the Olympics...what a convenient ending and a clever way to stay away from a second season (not that a second one would work anyway). Also seeing Tomoki's brother and ex-girlfriend reminded me how pissed off I am at those too. What a bunch of useless drama they brought. Overall: 5/10 |

| Really...don't they know that a bad ending can kill everything good? This series was nice, there were some flaws but still I would have given it an 8 or 9 since I enjoyed it and then they end it in a way that made me sigh. Now i'm thinking of scoring this a 7 or maybe even a 6. The last two episodes, especially the last one just failed miserably. I think they should have ended it on episode 10 and then have a second season. |

At least he's in the Olympics thanks to Yoichi's rematch stunt. Finally some nice pro level dives. Liking the xmas sync diving there. I know the show's very flawed but I never really got bored, stuff like that ntr & Yoichi's hamfisted drama were weird but still fun. It's like KnightsnMagic in how bad the plot/pacing is but remains quite enjoyable. And OP/ED both quite nice. |

| Definitely the best episode of the show but this too wasn't a great episode in all honesty. Drama after drama throughout the season was seriously tiring to watch, and then all of a sudden in the end, each character got what he wished to end things off coupled with the pacing issues really did leave a poor impression. Moreover, the romance of this show was simply abysmal. Somewhere around the climax of the show, it felt as though Yoichi was the real main character instead of Tomo since he got so much more character depth and screentime. Once again, in order to increase the suspense, drama after drama unfolded even on his part. But overall, all the characters except for Miu, Tomo and his brother were pretty good. I had high expectations of Miu towards the beginning but she disappointed me immensely by hooking up his brother instead. Well, there may have been many reasons for it but I don't think any really justifies it. Overall, a decent 3/5 to this episode and a 5/10 to this show. |

I also want to see Tomo's dive >< It's the important dive that got him to the Olympics man how dare they don't show us that! The animation on Youichi's dive is nice though Agree with everyone who have issue on pacing which is bad throughout the series, part of the reason the story's flow suffer. However, I do enjoy the series with good moments here and there, so personally i give it a 6.5 Thought video skipped but no... Tomo got trolled like how his bro stole his gf lol. Tomo's dive is in the end of the opening.. |

| Good show. Maybe not the best writing and animation but I looked forward to watching it each week and all of the characters showed some type of character growth. |

Leo_10 said: All the characters misunderstood the coach' intention. Seems like Youichi manged to pull it off and Shibuki did his swan dive. Though we didn't see Tomoki's dive. Had a hard time watching this but the finale was actually good. Kohta said: I'm a bit ticked off that they didn't even show Tomoki's last fucking dive..... or the final score.... It was disappointing that Tomoki's dive wasn't animated though. Overall the show gets a 6/10 from me. tingy said: Kohta said: I'm a bit ticked off that they didn't even show Tomoki's last fucking dive..... or the final score.... Lelouch0202 said: Plot Armor the finale? TheDoggoneGirl said: It was a good finale. Oona_Shea said: Lelouch0202 said: Plot Armor the finale? Though I feel at times that they forgot who the main character was. The last few episodes including this one focused mostly on Youichi and Tomo was kind of dropped. They should have shown his final dive. But I always found the other characters more interesting than Tomo anyway so I don't really care. 6/10 for me. matias067 said: it was okayish! I skipped it frame by frame and could only count 3. I am not a diving expert though, is that counted as 4? Even if it is, it is failing in direction. They literally had two chance to show his *new* dive at the end and they didn't. |
