Now Altair has become more famous after this show, more stories will be written about her and she will become much stronger. She does not have the limit of strength and she is not limited to any stories. So she can become the strongest character, am I right? I still do not understand the meaning of this moment:
[IMG] file:///C:/Users/Acer/Desktop/%D0%A1%D0%BD%D0%B8%D0%BC%D0%BE%D0%BA.PNG [/ IMG]

My understanding is that she created a world with just her and Setsuna. She has no more reason to fight.

Altair and Setsuna are ganna get real tired of each other in a few hundred years.

What a piece of shit show this has been. I can't see how anyone could like it. Interesting concept executed extremely poorly with the biggest cop out I've ever seen in anime. This is a trainwreck comparable to Valvrave. The whole story about Altair's creator was garbage and then it decides to give Altair a happy ending? She doesn't deserve it. She's been tricked by a false version of her creator and walked off scot free. Nevermind all the people that have died because of her actions.
But nope, looking at this thread I guess if we play some sad music and lazily tug on your heartstrings all will be forgiven right?
No. Not from me. I don't cry that easily. Unless if the final episode blows me away It's a solid 4/10 for this show.

Am I the only one that was thinking about the cameras? where the hell are they located that they can show everything to the crowd?!?!?! . Amazing episode, I wonder if the characters will remain dead or not (I think they won't because we are heading towards a happy ending...).

Also what will happen to Chikujouin? I wanted to see more from her <33

Lets take the blame on Sota for extending this crap over 22 episodes (21 actually) when this could have ended a long while ago... if that were the case I could have felt pity for Altair, but now it just feels ridiculous after seing how asspulled she became and how merciless she was and now she suddenly became so emotional (what an inconsistent character)

this show had an immense potential, but TROYCA managed to waste it episode by episode, predictable situations, asspulls, this is a clear example of not knowing how to defeat your villain, it quite of reminds me of Yhwach from Bleach, it extended way too long and pretty much ruined the last arc.

so whats up with the last episode? this looked like a finale for me... there shouldn't be more to it

Ikr? this show had potential, but it was a clear example of not knowing how to handle it. how the heck they are going to forgive Altair for all she did? that's just nonsensical, lets not forget whose fault was that drag'd this for way too long.

Can't even take seriously those that says this is a Masterpiece lmao

Man, this episode. I didn't think Altair would actually be able to save Setsuna and create their own world. I wonder how the next episode will wrap everything up.

Next episode will be "happy ending" for everyone it seems. World is saved. Altair got her girl. Last episode will just be an epiloge.
So, no big boom coming up :/

Here are some dumb things:
- If Setsuna's memories are lost, then how was anything created out of them?
- why is what the "good guys" did dirty - they're trying to save their world from a god-tier enemy. in a situation like that, anything goes, and Altair, since she's such an amazing strategist, should have expected this.
- how is Altair so acutely aware of who Setsuna is and what happened to her, when none of the other creations even knew that they were fictional to begin with?
- why is Altair so distraught by Setsuna? I mean, it's not like she caused her suicide (looking at you, Sota)
- the conversation between Altair and Setsuna when they're lying in water is perfectly illustrative of what this series is - pretentious and nonsensical.
- Altair and Setsuna are in another world and still being filmed and broadcast to Japan?
- how does half of what is being shown to the audience in the stadium make any sense to them? they don't know any of the things that have happened between the characters, and they sure as hell don't know who Setsuna or Sota are.
- why isn't this the last episode?

In this case I am fine with this take of a cliche' ending, I did enjoy how they wrap it all up. Luckily, they did not go for an unconventional trainwreck plot like Sekaisuru Kado.

As much as I really liked this episode's emotional gut-punches and how it all wrapped up, I feel like this is all just because Altair is (as others have already said) a God-tier asspuller, and the only way to stop her would be to pacify her as they did here.

That said, I like that this ties in with the theme of "every story is as real as our own world" and why I don't think it matters that Altair's creator in this episode was technically a fake. They made their own story, so they're as real as can be now.

I'm mostly curious how the last episode is gonna do things, I would personally be happy if it ended right here (since I don't think the other "loose ends" of the handful of remaining creations actually matter all that much), but hopefully the last episode won't be too underwhelming after this.

Well that was load of fucking crap well mostly last few minutes were good and had actual sence but rest of episode is like bad fanfic letter.

I didnt feel much emotions tbh i cant simply erase everything that altair have done in the series. I understand pain of her character and her motives cant be more clear , she is not bad villain in terms of story and impact but she is not hero/innocent at all. This episode made it seem like it is trying too redeem her and make everyone look like side trash i dont buy it.

I hope that last episode will redeem this episode for the sake of like last couple of amazing episodes.

Well, Altair has a heart after all. In other words, she isn't a real villain. I said it since episode 13. The other characters are there to fill the story but are irrelevant to the main story. After seeing all the dialogue between Altair and Setsuna, I conclude that all the predictions happened. Also, it was obvious Altair will save Setsuna and she did.

This show had a lot of potential but now with all these predictable actions, it is just another entertainment anime but not a master piece.
well we all knew that how it will end with altair. it was predictible from the moment we learned about setsuna

That's the narrative problem. For me is Souta, and Altair, secondary Meteora, Magane (without these two you can't explain why Sota's idea worked). The other characters filled the story with some minor details and progressions but are irrelevant to the main story. In other words, were disposable.

A truly emotion filled episode with the reunion of Altair and Setsuna...and Sota too in the end

I have no idea how they plan to finish things off in the final episode (most likely it will be Sota reflecting with a lot of monologue) but in any case this was the "true end" and it was satisfying at least for me

Am i the only one who is really frustrated that instaed of it being a special moment for Altair and Setsuna and maybe Souta too, it was basically a show for everyone? since it was broadcasted.
And why was Souta listing literally every creator there instead of just saying "we all" Also i wonder if Setsuna heard him or if he was just yelling at the screen all this time...

As a launching point here, i agree with @TikiTDO's analysis.

With respect to @Gangstercat, this was the only way they could have dealt with Altair. To do the one thing she least expected: reward her for her transgressions. Yes, she could have killed Setsuna, but given that her whole goal revolved around her in the first place makes it a moot point. This is a wholly different situation from FMA: Brotherhood, where Envy is the roadblock for a plan that, left unchecked, would wipe out humanity.

Let me put it another way: what would you do if your opponent, instead of fighting you, gave you what you most wanted, your actual goal rather than the revenge for not getting it?

I don't begrudge you your opinion, only ask that you stop and think. Not every show is a hot-blooded tear-all-the-walls-down shonenfest like FMA: Brotherhood, Highschool of the Dead, or Attack on Titan.

While I enjoyed this episode, my gripe about this episode is that it leaves too many questions to the viewer, and at least one major plot-thread unresolved. Namely, the viewer is left to wonder what happens to the other creations now that Altair has moved herself to her own universe. Additionally, the story has a major unresolved thread with Magane. While Magane did indeed help Souta out, her own plans for world domination, the "Great Miracle Emperor Plan" have been left unresolved and cannot reasonably be resolved within the span of the next episode. Furthermore, while Altair's "reunion" with Setsuna was emotionally satisfying and resolved questions first brought up in the first episode, it would have been better logically to expose the depths to which Setsuna had given Altair only hate. Altair should have had to earn her redemption by aiding in the take down of the only foe who could really match her: Magane, earning her place as a result.

Doing otherwise cheapens the narrative value of the deaths of Mamika, Selesia and Aliceteria; they now seem as though they were chess-pieces to be discarded, for which no responsibility or consequence is expected. If anything the "responsibility" for these deaths is offloaded first from Altair, who gloried in their deaths, onto Setsuna. Setsuna, by admitting Altair's role as a villain and a repository for all of her hate and despair, as well as implying that her suicide was a purposeful act to bring Altair into the world, then offloads responsibility onto Sota for creating her as he knew her.

It's an anti-climax that drains the oxygen from the room, and denies the gravitas of the threat that Altair represents. If she's willing to settle for any version of Setsuna then it begs the question of why she didn't take this option earlier given what the audience is shown. Moreover, the ending that Altair is given is insufficient given her lack of development as a character. Altair's emotional development essentially went from unthinking and poorly rationalized hatred to petty and misguided grievance, but nowhere was there room for what happened within the space of this episode. In 18 minutes Altair goes from shock to having to fighting down the urge not to kill her creator, to having her hatred acknowledged and even affirmed, and then straight to realizing that she's capable of creating. This sudden abandonment of her old goal makes logical sense (she's been given what she wanted), but not emotional sense, particularly from the psychological perspective. Not enough is done between episode 18 and episode 21, or even previous to that, to show that Altair, despite her hate, acknowledges the world as anything more than a source of her misery, no matter how beautiful and glorious it may be. One can create out of hatred, but there's nothing to indicate that Altair ever sought to do anything more than use her hatred and the power it gave her to destroy.

Regardless, the next episode must pick up the pieces and bring this to a conclusion. Magane's existence, as well as that of Meteora, Syo, Yuuya, Blitz and Hikayu remains unresolved. I also suspect that Altair and Setsuna still have a role to play in this, even though they've technically moved on.

THIS WAS SO FRIGGIN GREAT
I'm laughting while crying.

Altair fuggin won in every sense of the world.
This wasn't a story about some bad OC's made for a pseudo-fate. This was Altair's Story.

A creation deprived of it's creator, she went through an oddyssey to take vengance at the world that killed her beloved creator...

she became more and more a being that trascended reality...
And finally, she became a creator herself, with infinite power...

enought to overwritte destiny and reality, just to be with her beloved creator for eternity. it's just poetic.

But the best of all

Souta crying because the bootleg character he designed NTR'ed him on the big screen, taking his potential GF away from him.

He was a useless scumbag the whole series an in the end Mr. Average guy has to watch as the whole public cheers for Altair x Setsuna while he'll forever be the useless idiot who couldn't text back to a friend in need.

Altair won the game, Altair won the girl, Altair won our hearts. She went full Homura and succeeded.

The Virgin Souta

lol, we can wrap it up here folks! i don't need next week's episode to know that this show's going to end being painfully average.

agree with the others who said this had such a strong premise, but it quickly fell apart... i kept holding on hoping it would get better (and it did for the majority of its run!) but i guess in the future i need to learn when to let a series go when it's not ticking all the boxes for me.

ah well. :/ mamika is still best girl tho

edit: it's not all bad tho. we got the godly ost, and honestly the animation was top notch for the majority of its run. even in recent episodes it's been mostly good, so can't complain on that front. and there were a bunch of cool character designs. just a weak, weak story. rip

So still when they draw an anime does it become 3D to the audience? like they where "real people" before coming on screen, how to they convert this?

PS: I liked how MC Kun had his mental breakdown and nobody in the room even cared.

PPS: Next EP - Altair comes out of the chamber saying "Ok I will still kill you all" because why not.

If only Re:creators was not so trashy in the middle then I could care about this, but all of this is really just weird to me. I felt a bit emotional because the voice acting and OST was top notch, but the story - man... I will always remember it as the show with the most trash talking and passive MC ever.

It had ok first few eps. Concept was good though. Latest episodes though have just been painful. These dialogue dumps aren't being handled well. Only thing that makes it better is I saw Shirobako so I can imagine the work of the animators in the background. Argh sunk cost fallacy is hard to drop.

The show is asking us to think of Altair as a good person who forgot to be good and accept her pain and the way she chose to process it, but she used that pain to abuse others. To me at least, Altair wore her pain like a crown and abused others to get what she wanted. She wasn't a good person and even if she let go of her revenge, she still got what she wanted at the expense of good people who tried to show her a better way. I guess I'm too human to forgive and forget.

Altair didn't have what she wanted. The real Setsuna is dead and she didn't destroyed the world, the Setsuna with her is a fake with a personality based in what Souta knew about her. Altair accepted that she was a fake because even then, she was somehow Setsuna.

Finally, someone said it. Setsuna is not real, but a created composition from the memories and even though, Altair accepted her. I was expecting a new universe/world warp. And don't blame Altair if some 'good' characters are 'wasted' on the way. This is not an evil versus good. Those characters saw the truth about their own worlds and themselves and chose a path.

I have a few guesses about the last episode;

- Altair-Setsuna reunion creates enough power vortex and overwhelmes Magane's lying trick; now Magane's dirty ability is gone and she have to say a truth about a truth.

- Magane-Sota lying-acceptance trick ends and with them Setsuna is totally gone and Altair is gone mad or both of them disexist due to universal law.

- A creator can create, then a creation can create; all they need is acceptance. All those characters Altair have killed (sorry Mamika ;P) can be created from the last point of their own existence again. After all, their creators, manga artists witnessed the last moments. Some of them will not, though, since their makers are dead already. The manga readers won't notice a damn thing, keep drawing the characters and everything will work out, but I am sorry, Altair will not teleport them into this world again.

- Just announce second season already; a new villain against Altair; bring it on!

Altair pretty much got Unlimited Power. She can re-write reality to her liking. From my point of view, that final scene may as well be altair leaping through time-space, becoming the writter of the plot itself, she's re-writting the part of the show that made Setsuna die, she has written setsuna again inside the universe, thus, the fake Setsuna is the real Setsuna.

Also
If that Setsuna is not the real Setsuna but a faker
but everyone accepts her as the real Setsuna
And Altair herself is the creator of Setsuna, while Setsuna is her creator...

A lie inside a lie...

I want to see a new season as well. There's also the issue of how Altair reacted to Sota in episode 1 and acknowledged him in episode 3. That thread, even though Setsuna mentions him, remains completely unresolved, and needs to be tied back into the story.

Something tells me that Altair still has a role to play, particularly if Magane is up to no good. The song "god of ink" has yet to play, after all--and it seems that song would refer to Altair.

So basically 20 minutes of over the top melodrama in a static room that might as well be pure blank white and to top it all off with an ending we all expected. Can't say I'm impressed one bit at this show. Definitely didn't feel deserved and too much of a tone shift from the last episode into this one. A lot of ass pulls had to be grabbed to bring this rather boring ending about. Gotta say they really dropped the ball with this show but then again it's not like it was super amazing throughout its run. At best I'll say it was interesting but only really in the beginning. Here's to another show being forgot in the seasonal past.

Very emotional episode for both Altair & Sota.

Guess that's the end of the war, Altair was pretty much invincible so I guess this was to only way to finish things.

Looking forward to the last episode to see what happens next.

The guy creating yuri fanfic based on the pairing of his dead girlfriend and her character. Oh, this sounds very strange outside the context.

After all the chaos and final showdown in the previous episodes, we get a feelsy and emotional one just before the finale. Can't say I teared up or anything, but it was definitely touching.

If it ended here, Little Witch Academia would be AOTY. At least that series both redeemed AND defeated the villain.

Altair and Setsuna go off to Dead Creator’s Yuri Wonderland while Sota weeps in the control room…
No.
After all that crap about audience acceptance, the audience just sits there while Hannah and Barbara say “That’s all, folks”…
No.
All the other Creations are just forgotten about…
No.
The Creators all high-five and off to the bar…
No.

There is one more episode. THIS episode did not resolve anything except the battle in the birdcage, and it was a draw. The audience in the stadium isn’t buying it any more than we are. Magane is still loose.

It’s not over yet.

It's not like the conclusion that was arrived at was bad or anything. It's just that I felt that it didn't match up with all the build up that was done in the prior episodes. Anyway, I look forward to how the series is wrapped up next week.

I would have cried myself if my family wasn't around me.

But in all seriousness, this is quite an emotional episode, the moment when Altair saved Setsuna was so amazing, and as I've said, almost made me cry.

At least at the end o it, both of them looked very happy. I'm glad.

yep well with no other way of ending it since it's impossible to win in a fight of power against Altair ,but yuri however ? yuri will save anime :P.

i just got a little chuckle at the fact in their newly created world it was still being broadcast though i don't remember if it was something Meteora was doing that allowed it in the first place, that and them having a long conversation mid falling

Stupid ending, all creations except meteora and magane got erased by Altair...

THAT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE THO! Both their creators were killed and that's why they still exist

I'm sorry but I couldn't take this episode seriously with two creations lying in the background bleeding to death while they have their heart-to-heart chat.
