do you guys think this arc could be included in the upcoming second season?

it would make a great finale for season 2 instead of the one in ch.72 but I don't know about the production and other stuff I think 2 months is not enough to make this arc into anime

Nah this is more of season 3 material. Adapting 56 chapters is a bit too much. Season 2 would most likely end on Chapter 70, the end of the Uprising arc.

Even SnK has a beach chapter! Jokes aside, this was a nice buildup. Not too surprised they have a time skip for this.

I was thinking the same, this is probably the closest we'll get to a swimsuit episode XD

Damn, Eren's dilemma is a tough one, I wonder how long he'll be able to keep it to himself. The death flags were strong on the beach scene, now that Armin's dream has come true :/ Baka Eren, you just couldn't let them enjoy the moment without sucking out the happiness :C Levi and Hange were priceless as always :P

And now, war is coming. I wonder if they'll just wait for Zeke and company or take the time and risk of building ships and bring the war to the continent. I'd put some cannons on the beach wall to take down any ships that come close, I doubt Zeke could survive that, even if he manages to turn into a titan underwater. There may be more traps they could make with the level of the technology they have.

there are some things i dont get in this chapter.
what did eren see when he touched historia ?
also before that he said something like "i cant tell anyone" "i cant sacrifice historia"...
and what exactly did he realize but didnt want to say when he realized that the titan he controlled (if he controlled it) was the ex-wife of his father on chapter 89?
also the mikasa and armin thing wasnt explained. what happened there ?

can anyone please help me out here ?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

but dafuq they propose to do to defeat marley. their technology far surpasses theirs. they have better weapons, mobility, navy and airforce. also the numbers are on their side.
and they have 5 titans on their side while eren cant even use his coordinate titan.

Befote I go on a rant, I'd like to say how much I enjoyed the chapter and talk about the chapter. Initially, I was a bit surprised by the sudden time skip, but it was needed I just found that it was a little random to happen in the middle of a 42 page chapter. What was even more surprising was the Titan threat had been basically removed from the island over the course of one year. Though if you think about it, we have gone way passed the point to where mindless titans were an actual threat. We've been dealing with Titan shifters, the government, and survey corps just reclaimed wall Maria. So yeah they needed to get rid of regular titans and move on to greater things.

Seeing the 104th along with Levi and Hange visiting the beach was cool. It was a nice peaceful chapter, which is what needed after all the drama and revelations that had taken place in the past 8 or so chapters. Eren looks dope with long hair and I'm happy my boy Armin got to see the ocean. Unfortunately they are still not free yet and Eren knows this.

Okay rant time

Fuck Flocke. I can't stand his character I truly have come to hate him after this chapter. I already disliked him during his introduction in chapter 70, and I grew to to dislike him even more in chapter 80 when he was cowering like a bitch. When he survived the beast titans rock throws instead of Marlowe I was even more upset. However, some of the stuff he said on the roof was true, though he was being hypocrite.

I've noticed a lot of people like to praise him because they are pissed at Eren and Mikasa and I'm not even going to touch that subject since I believe most of those people are just salty about the plot not going in their favor. The truth is Flocke didn't want Erwin to be saved because he's the commander. Flocke just wanted his cowardly pathetic life to have meaning, that's all it is and it so sad no one in this fandom can see that. From the start he was a band wagon jumper, he joined the survey corps like a follower, once he saw his friends join up. In chapter 80 he is crying and panicking like a little bitch, and then when he finally makes himself useful he shits on the moment.

Honestly though I hate this fucker, I respected him for bringing Erwin half dead body off the battlefield and into shinganshina district and even some of the shit he said was true, despite the fact that he was speaking up for all the wrong reasons. But he ruined it with how he behaved at this ceremony. It's one thing to have an opinion, but there's this thing called a time and a place. What he said was rude and inconsiderate to Hitch and Armin.

Lastly I'll close this by saying his character is complete shit, the one good moment he had was all about selfishness. He knows he's a coward and he knows he lacks the skills and mental fortitude of the main cast, so he is bitter. You can tell with how he looked at Jean, Connie, and Sasha, that he was sad about being the only survivor from the recruits. Anyways,The only person who was sensible on the roof top was hangs.

Okay, I'm done just needed to get that off my chest, but over all it was a good chapter. I just hope Flocke dies or leaves the survey corps because his character is beyond irritating.

i didn't even know he existed until this chapter, i must've missed him somewhere in previous ones - wish it had stayed that way, he's a little bitch

i really wish no one had stopped eren from going into his angry-german-child mode on him, especially after what he said to hitch

So I don't know if you guys are thinking about "Eren eating Historia" mentioned in the previous chapter. But to make it clear, Isayama said he made a little mistake there and meant 'touch' and not 'eat' Historia.
Isayama's comment about this: "This is my mistake, and it will greatly affect the later development in manga. I apologize for making Eren’s ideas suddenly sound insane and therefore confusing the readers."
Edit: after reading my own reaction I kinda realised Isayama might indeed actually change his story according to his mistake, now I wonder what he'll do :/

I enjoyed this chapter. But it seems I'm the only one who doesn't really like Eren's longer hair. Also laughed at Levi's reaction to the ocean xD I'm ready for the next arc!

Jk, getting out is like a walk in the park

This. I feel it's a risky gamble to let go of the Titans' element, it was shrinking since the end of season one but it was there nonetheless(which is totally fine), and that was justified by Eren's powers and the few encounters with them in the uprising arc, and even in this arc relatively, but to suddenly eliminate them all in less than one year as if it was nothing, I don't like the sound of it and this needs to be justified asap. Things like new technologies and improvements to the 3DMG, Eren's and Armin's titans and maybe even some new things that they discovered within the time leap will be able to convince me more, but still, it's really a huge one, didn't expect them to clear Wall Maria like this .. Remember under normal circumstances and restricted technology and soldiers numbers it took the Survey squad 4 years to establish a road (that I don't know how long it was) for the plan to retake Wall Maria.

I'm really concerned about what the story is going to be like next, and for sure excited.

The panel where Eren and Mikasa are looking at Eren talking about freedom is full of realistic impressions, loved it, I love how Eren is expressing his feelings.

They should change the title to "Attack on marley", lol.
But absolutely amazing chapter, not every chapter has to have blood and gory , and I seriously needed this.
And I was half expecting for eren to bite and start eating historia's hand during the award ceremony, this is how much the recent chapters were effecting me.
Btw, where are Riener and Zeke?

This chapter should have been called The Roast! It was just page after page of roast. And I was loving it! Eren has been self-righteous from the start and I maintain that Erwin was the immediate better choice. I really enjoyed that they had no comebacks. It would be easy to have the protagonist say some cool line that shut Flock up but it's the mark of a good writer when you shine a light of judgment on your main characters because they're not always right. It was much appreciated.

I really enjoyed the beach scene as well. It was really cute.

.....Eren....what...Are....you....Doing? ..oh whew....just Eren making a face...not going to stand and shout...afraid that he was going to make a scene.

So...Titans are Dead....Kingdom of Subjects of Ymir...has truly won their Island from the Titans....it will become Humans versus Humans after this. and They have arrived to SEA! XD NICE BUILD UP CHAPTER

What an amazing chapter , peaceful after all the mind blowing, we need like these moments from time to time , so much emotions , the ocean scene is gonna be amazing after being animated , it is amazing to see them standing there after all the struggling and it , Eren with the tears , Armin holding something he picked up , mikasa is kinda scared from the salty water and both watching Eren talking with tearing eyes about being free it was so intense..it is weird that there is no titans threat after all , it is marley threat from now on
Ps : Eren you're looking freaking cool with your longer hair , can't wait to see you animated with your new hair hero

I think it was a good choice, to let the people inside the walls, learn about everything the Survey Crops discovered. As expected, there were mixed views - some people accepted the discoveries, some laughed, and others had suspicions... If I were in their shoes, it would take me a while to accept that I am capable of turning into a titan, and that there are people living outside the walls.

When I saw Hitch, I didn't know how to feel.... I'm reminded of Marlowe's last thoughts of her before he died.... T.T

Floch...there is a time and place for everything. I don't think Floch should have expressed his opinion about saving Erwin instead of Armin, while they were waiting for their memorial ceremony to begin. Floch wasn't thinking of what Erwin would have wanted either, when he said that Armin was only rescued because of Eren, Mikasa, and Levi's personal feelings. Floch had no idea what Armin is capable of, so I would have preferred it if he kept his mouth shut. -_-

I'm proud of Eren and Mikasa for not yelling at Floch, since they were mature enough to know there was no point on continuing that discussion. I didn't see the point of Floch bringing up that topic, when it won't change the facts: Erwin is dead, and Armin is alive. Armin already knows that his life was chosen instead of Erwin's, so he'll do his best to live well and serve the Eldians. I'm proud of Jean and Connie too, for telling Floch off; that they were about to have a memorial ceremony, and there was no point on bringing up the past. Although Floch said Sasha, Connie, and Jean did nothing (they did not stop Eren and Mikasa, and they did not defy their superiors), what did he expect the three of them to do?? Sasha, Connie, and Jean weren't the ones who were about to decide whether to keep Erwin alive, or keep Armin alive. :/

I love that Eren reassured Armin, "What makes you so sure of that?" when Armin agreed with Floch's opinion that Erwin should have survived. There is plenty outside the walls they need to see! :)

... There was a corpse being eaten by three dogs, when Eren said, "I think on the other side of the walls, there's freedom." Whose memory was that? Who was being eaten??

I can imagine the music and the seriousness, when this chapter gets animated, and we hear, "What was it that we found in that basement? Was it hope? Or was it despair?" And I feel bad for Eren... Although Eren is ready to give up his life for freedom, he's not ready to have Historia's life sacrificed. It's sad that Eren can't tell anyone about his theory, that touching a royal family member after they turn into a titan, could be a way for him to use his power as the Founding Titan... When Eren saw Grisha's memory of what he said to Frieda, was that activated because our protagonist touched Historia's hand?

Although, it's good news that there are no more titans inside Wall Maria. :) I wonder, what is Marley currently doing..? It truly felt so empty to see so much land, without humans. ... How long did it take for that one titan to crawl his/her way to the wall? It was nice to see no more anger or fear of killing titans, but acknowledgment that the crawling titan was their compatriot. And wow....to see the place where Eldians were turned to titans... x.x It's sad to know that thousands of people were turned to titans there, and those titans ate their compatriots and/or were killed by the Survey Crops...

I didn't expect our 104th Survey Crops to reach the ocean... I wish Erwin was with Levi and Hange too... How would Carla and Hannes react to the ocean? Just a sad what-if from me, on how the dead characters would be like at the ocean... :(

It was good to see Sasha and Connie smiling, and they even dragged Jean along! I laughed when Connie splashed water at Sasha, and she exclaimed, "MY EEEYES!!" Then there was Jean, who drank the sea water, and exclaimed, "Aagh! It's so salty!!" xD Can the Survey Crops have a BBQ and small fireworks event together at the beach?

It was nice to see Hange, ready to pick up anything from the ocean. LOL at Levi's, "Watch out, Hange. Don't touch it. It could be poisonous." I wish someone just pulled Levi's arm to get his feet wet in the water! XD

It was nice to see Mikasa's feet in the water, and maybe it was really cold... :P It was great to see one of Armin's dreams fulfilled. :) Maybe Armin brought that seashell home with him later.

Eren made a good point...If the people inside the walls kill all of the Marleyans, will they be free? I was a little sad to see Eren's response. Eren used to have so much passion towards killing all of the titans, because he desired freedom... But so much has happened, he doesn't have that raw passion anymore. Eren in the past, expected his future self to be filled with lots of energy and joy at finally seeing the ocean… Surprisingly, Eren was so calm. What happened within a year? I hope this isn't true, but the more Eren fights for freedom, the sadder he may be... The struggles for freedom are not what Eren expected. Fighting for freedom came at such a high price... And their fight isn't over yet. :(

Congrats to the Survey Crops for reaching the ocean. :) About a year has passed already, so that means Eren has 7 years left to live, and Armin has 12 years left on Earth... T.T I didn't recognize Eren at first with his long hair, so I was surprised to see it was really him! XD I'll miss Eren's short hair. </3 Eren told Mikasa to cut her hair, because it could have interfered with her fighting. Did Eren keep his hair long, because he didn't need to keep it short for battles anymore?

LOL at the extra at the end!! XD Erwin being a history teacher made sense, and same goes to Hange being the chemistry teacher... But Levi as the janitor made me LOL so much!! Attack on School Castes is precious. <3 People fearing Levi, 'cause of a rumour that he was an important figure in the underworld... That sounds interesting :P

I want Floch dead, he's so fucking annoying.
Complaining about people dying, jesus christ.
It's not as if it were a secret how many of the Scouts died on every mission.

Also omfggg that ending
Eren is right, freedom was never outside the walls.

Loving his new longer hair tho, he should definitely keep it.

Well, they finally got to the ocean, but they still didn't get their freedom.

What they will do now. Go to war? They said that all the world hate them, so what will they do? Kill all other humans? There is no easy answer for this.

What is going on with Floch's hair?
Man, listen to them tear into me. Good thing I'm used to it.

Awesome chapter, and a great end to the arc. I was impressed that this arc was more about exposition and the history than Reiner and Berthold's fall, and I love it for that. I feel like Isayama's taking notes from Togashi in subverting storytelling styles.

So we got an 8-month timeskip
Titans are nearly gone and their numbers had been more finite than we thought. It leaves a strange feeling in my brain, especially given that they're on an island. I thought we had leages and leagues of grasslands and coniferous trees with thousands of titans. It felt more dreadful that way, but this realization makes sense I suppose.

And Eren wants to launch an attack of his own? Hmmm....

I give this arc a 9, same as the La La Arc

Edit: oh and Floch/Flocke is AWESOME. He tells those shonen heroes to STFU and get some perspective. He's right. They were being selfish by intention and I love when minor characters put major ones in their place.

I can understand how frustrating it is to realize that everything you've worked so hard for wasn't enough to achieve what you wanted since the goalpost had shifted at the very last moment. It's either they fight for true freedom or die trying but at least that's better than doing nothing.

Past this point of the story is entirely new territory for me since I haven't watched the final season yet so I'm both very excited and cautious about the things I'll end up witnessing soon enough!

Eren becoming the most annoying character from season 1 to my favorite character in the series. Hajime Isayama did a really good job with Eren's character. I might even call it perfect.
