I think your meant not a sore winner. She won the race and was a good sport about it, but that is being a good winner.

I didn't know Diana had 「CRAZY DIAMOND」
I find it funny that the dragon was talking about science overtaking magic with Constanze's tinkering not helping (side note: Constanze really shot up in character rankings this episode).
There is a surprising lack of Ursula-sensei this and last episode. I was sure that the dragon was going to bring up Chariot but oh well.
If Luna Nova is still in need of money I know exactly how Akko and gang should solve it based on other anime.
Plan A: Magical idol unit. Plan B: Becoming champions in a magical competition.

Well could setup something I want to see. Well magical idol I am with you there. But another thing I want to see, the Cavendish donate to Luna Nova and kind of hold them hostage to make them do whatever they want.

I could see them thinking "Okay I will save your loser school because our daughter wants us to, but from now on, you are our slaves." And set them up as major antagonists.

Well, there is a rich businessman/butler looking guy in the OP. I know there is some information about him, but I haven't read it so I might be wrong.
He might be related to the Cavendish family or he chould be alone, but he does have a slight anatognist feeling around him (aside being the only notable man in the show aside for Pawn Shop guy).

Amanda couldn't have said it better, Diane is so perfect it makes me want to hurl.

Well I'm happy that Amanda is getting a lot of screen time. She and Akko make a pretty funny team.

I am disappointed at the lack of Sucy however. We need that Sucy episode stat, because this was probably the worst episode so far. Not saying it was bad, but it was pretty boring and uneventful.

It bothered me that Akko and Amanda don't seem to see their own faults and immaturity and just ignores the good points Diana makes because they dislike her (like "don't fight right next to your potentially dangerous potion" and "don't go off on your own to fight dragons"), and sure she's a bit snobby about it but those were still reasonable and legitimate points. I hope they will get more character development in this depatment soon.

Also Constanze is best girl.

Well just adds fuel to fire that perhaps the Cavendish family have some family secrets and some connection to the dragons.

She failed to both save the tree and identify that the pupae weren't pests, both of which Akko managed. Sure they weren't competing, but it was a huge failure on Diana's part. However, she didn't get all pissy about that or anything.

The hope this would get better since I liked the 30min OVA and the witch academy setting is nice. Since I'm watching it weekly it's easier to cope with a bad show. If it had already finished airing I would probably have watched two or three episodes and dropped it, without adding it to my list. I often do this, as you can see from my 20 dropped shows, only four of them were dropped with less than 4 episodes watched.

Honestly, this is the weakest episode so far, mostly because of Diana. It's one thing that she was outshining other students, but this episode she made the teachers look like total incompetents.

At this point, Diana might as well be made headmistress.

You must be thinking of a different Diana. The Diana in LWA went right ahead and took credit for Akko's good deeds in Episode 2.

Maybe if Diana had actually worded it like that, they might have listened. But she instead said it perhaps the most condescending way possible.

I really like Jasminka and Constanze! They are awesome and they barely speak, that's their charm. I really enjoyed this episode a lot especially the little hints of Akko' true motivation, make people fall in love with magic the same way Chariot made her fall in love with magic.

The episode felt a little "unfocused" with only intent to introduce the 3 new witches we saw from the OVA and a little from Episode 3. However, the best part of the episode was Akko's speech to Fafnir about how magic can move hearts (like how you mentioned earlier with Chariot's magic moving her heart). I smiled a little at the end when Fafnir mumbled something about how he was surprised that there were still humans (Akko) who still had that look in their eyes. A look of naivety and wonder for the world of magic? Almost seems like Akko moved his cynical/grumpy heart a little.

I'm hoping that Akko can do the same with Diana because it seems like she's only a witch to keep up with exceptions(due to being from a highly regarded witch family). More time with Akko could show Diana that magic can be full of fun and wonder.

I'm really digging how the show basically takes these traditional fantasy concepts and makes them really grounded and mundane (i.e. a greedy dragon that steals valuable things, but it turns out he's basically just a bank fat cat and is taking collateral for a loan).

It's a weird kind of reverse magical realism I guess, lol.

This episode was fantastic, so good honestly.
I don't know who those girls are but they are so badass xD First, they managed to wash all the clothes in a few minutes thanks to machinery, then she shot a dragon with an RPG! hahahaha
So Luna Nova's teachers are the oldest and most powerful witches, yet they can't read dragon language? lol
Diana did great, she basically saved the situation/school.
That dragon lied them pretty hard, btw nice way of making money... for a dragon xD

If you seen Regular Show or Steven Universe. They did this before. This is to just either grow the universe or develop a character. There is a plot but they are just setting it up. It's important to introduce everyone who is a centric focus to our story before we get serious.

She got the credit for it, but she wasn't happy about it. She attempted to deny responsibility for what happened, but backed off and left the scene when the teachers brushed her off and continued singing her praises. It is possible that she figured there was no changing their minds, and it would be too difficult to explain what happened considering that it was one of the worst students in the school who saved the day. She certainly did not "go right ahead" and take the credit for herself.

I thought I'd come to dislike Amanda, but apparently she's pretty okay. She teamed up with Akko against a common enemy, Diana lol. They have their differences but they did team up against the dragon. I liked the parts with Akko and Amanda.

One big problem was that didn't those who made that contract with the dragon even bother to have that contract translated into human language? Or couldn't they have it written in human language at the time of signing it? And didn't those who made the contract know that there wasn't any interest in the deal? Couldn't they have told their successors about the loan amount and everything? And just how talented is Diana? It's like she's better than the nekoing headmistress. Shouldn't the headmistress technically be the most talented witch who knows a billion languages or whatever? Diana is making her look bad. They should just make Diana the headmistress already.

She's adorable and all, but sometimes the cringe is too strong with Akko. I practically had to look away from the scene where Diane was just savagely dressing her down. That was like Always Sunny level squirm inducing. I'm glad this episode highlighted Amanda, and the other misfit trio who I'm struggling right now to come up with a collective name for. The tech one, who's name I can't remember, stole the show as always with that badass laser rifle. I really like Amanda and Akko's relationship too. I'm a sucker for the grudgingly become friends stories.

This episode was like the previous ones elevated from being formulaic by a really solid ending. Fafnir was quite amusing and their modern interpretation of dragon hoarding was a little clever. Diane saving the day was also surprising and refreshing. Although I do kind of feel like she lost a little bit of the character growth we'd seen from her here. After an unsteady start, this turned out to be one of the strongest episodes yet and definitely maintained my enthusiasm for the series. Fingers crossed for a Sucy episode next.

Unfortunately and unlike appearances, the episodic format isn't easy to achieve and writing each time new exciting stories isn't within the reach of anyone.

This episode once again proves how much the screenwriter and director didn't know how to present the story. Dragons take the magic stone because the school would be in debt (you knew it?) And no teacher is trying to do anything (what? that's daylight robbery!). Akko notices that (fortunate chance!) And warns everyone.

And finally Diana (I should call "easy solution for the screenwriter") arrives and tells that the debts are only scams.

There was unfortunately no emotion, no tension, nothing. Emptiness.

If you want a series with an episodic format with beautiful stories, a magical atmosphere and supernatural creatures, I recommend Natsume Yuujinchou.
And if you want a series with cute heroines, super powers and a much better animation (EDIT: and more creativity), I suggest Flip Flappers.

I continue the series but if you are fed up with this deceit, go to one of the two series that I propose to you.

This anime is growing on me very fast! When was the last time I enjoyed a trigger anime this much? TTGL comes to mind!

The characters are so full of life. You can see they belong to certain archetypes yet they complement one another so much that you cannot but feel good about how they blend in so nicely within the anime. It's almost like watching Love Live!

Episodic start is nothing new for anime. It makes you connect with the characters more which pays off at the later stage of the story (for anime such as this which is slated for 2 cours) if everything is handled properly. There is no information dump and you realize how things are in their world through what Akko experiences as a newbie in the world of witches. At the same time, you are getting to know the characters more. The way they response to certain situations, the way they interact with one another are keys to understand their personalities. Little things like Sucy not showing any interest but on mushrooms as Akko and Lotte frantically searched for Annabel the 12th or even the side character like Barbara raising her hand to answer during the quizzes make me enjoy this anime.

The voice acting have been great as well. And the animation fits in so well for some reason. This, alongside Kobayashi-san (which is slightly more enjoyable) are definitely my favourite new anime of the current season.

This episode was pretty nice and gave more insight to the troublemaker trio and their growing relations to Akko and her friends. Thought they are different, they do share some similarities, outside the fact that they hate Diana. However, I did notice that it filled in more in the filler part, putting in the risk of getting it dropped. I know, I felt a little underwhelmed too, but not to the point of dropping! Pokemon did it too, but do we hate it? NO! Heck, at least this one episode is better than the entirety of Re:Hamatora (MEGA cringe [except for episode 7, that made me feel a lot better though]) alone.

Plus, Constanze kicked a lot of ass too. Which is why, we need more of her! Know anyone else who builds a washing machine with, what seems to be, perpetual energy (There was no electricity at the time and no one was manning the pedals), and fights off dragons with a POPGUN (Which, may I remind you, WORKED!!)and a BAZOOKA?????!!!! (The last one was a huge flop. They did say that the big guns should be saved for last. But that scene was hilarious still)
HOLY SHIT!!!!

This is gonna be good.

I don't know... I was impressed by Flip Flappers animation, filled with colors, with characters full of life (especially Papika)
While this is forced into LWA. Akko tries to get excited about unnecessary things in order to make the viewer believe that the story is interesting. Sorry, but Trigger can't deceive me.

But I continue the series hoping to see an improvement. :o
