| 1) At first, I thought Yuri was so naive and innocent to think of a pork cutlet bowl in regards to Eros. But then some point, he realizes that Victor is his pork cutlet bowl. ;) Hence the "I know who I'm skating for" and the outfit that suggests both masculine AND feminine. 2) Yurio screwed up agape from the very beginning by choosing a very flashy, seductive [see through] outfit. Victor recognized that as soon as he saw it. Yurio just needs to mature a little, and be more comfortable with stepping outside his comfort zone. I have a feeling we'll be seeing that happen too, and I can't wait! 3) Yes, it was gay. We all know this. I hope to Eros is continues to be even MORE gay. I ship Yuri and Victor SO HARD. (sorry for the bad pun) I desperately want to see Yuri happy with Victor. I love that sweet little guy so much. The facial expressions of the characters are just perfect all the time. This show is amazing. |

| Wonderful episode. Yuri & Yurio training hard for the Hot Spring on Ice. LOL Yuko's nosebleed is extreme. Those costumes are flashy. Gotta promote the Hot Spring whenever an opportunity presents itself. Great performances from both competitors. Congrats to Yuri for winning. Yurio going back to Russia. |

| Oh boi. After several months of relentlessly getting myself out of the BL community, this anime had just crushed all of my hard work. Though put the jokes aside, this week's episode was mesmerising in many ways - the choreography, the animation and character development. Also it brings a smile to my face that Yuuri's skating choreography had that similar charisma as Hanyu Yuzuru's skating in Sochi 2014 (where he broke the world record) and as well as Yurio's flow had a similar vibe of Yulia Lipnitskaya's dazzling performance in Sochi too. But seriously, this anime is great at picking up fine details. Can't wait to see next week's episode. |

| Yuuri and Yurio both managed to pull off amazing performances; however Yurio decided that he wasn't at his best during his, and seemingly left for now. Good episode. Didn't expect Yuuri to play the feminine role in Eros. |

| *whistles* This is gayer than I thought, the sexual tension between YurixVictor is intensifying Im kinda scared. HAHA! I Love the dynamics of these two but Im not here for some yaio, uh maybe a bit of some hot & sexy boys. HAHA! Im enjoying the fanservice right now and the mild teasing is okay with me but still I hope it won't go to that route. I still want a solid sports anime. I also like Yurio's performance more! his clothing is mesmerizing! the meaning behind his performance brought more emotion and passion. I just felt that Yurio's love for his grand pa has more emotional depth than the pork cutlet, though I find it hilarious. I thought it was wiser for Yurio the rival to win just to help build up and add more thrill to Yuri's development I just don't want to see the main character win right off the bat, But Victor has to stay right? HAHA! and Yuri does deserve the win. but what really caught my attention in this episode was yurios subtle development, the fact that he admitted defeat and respected yuris skill ( and he cant help it, Victor loves yuri more! HAHA!) and instead of mopping around feeling defeated he is persistent on winning the grand prix. Now I'm even more excited to see this boy's character development Sorry this is turning out to be why I'm starting to love Yurio haha! feel sad that yurio's going back to russia, I hope we'll see more of him on the next episodes, He just captured my heart. PS: Loved the moments between Yuuko and Yurio, HAHA! if she weren't married I would totally ship these two! LOL! |

| I'm falling in love with Yurio... I prefered his performance. It's sad to know that he'll lose at the end since he isn't the main character. Why do I have to fall in love with him. Tsk. It would be good that this anime doesn't be a 'cliché' and main character loose at the end against Yurio but it would be to great *rolling eyes* But it's the classic. The main character bad (last in competition) succeed by miracle to be first. |

| I like how the "yaoi" in this show is really tasteful. It actually makes sense in context when they decide to do it and it creates an extremely delicate dynamic between the two. I say delicate because there are walking an extraordinarily fine line and the potential to mess it up is massive. Definitely AotS if it keeps this momentum despite the (almost necessary) drops in animation quality. |

| Wow, this is definitely my favorite anime this season. I really couldn't take my eyes off of Yuri and Yurio's performances and although I liked Yurio's a bit more, I'm happy Yuri got his dream coach. ^^ |
| I loved both programs! I don't want Yurio to leave, this threesome is great together! The skating was both magical and beautiful! I felt the emotions from both Yuri's during their program. I love Victor! He is the best character this season! |

This is my personal bias but Yuuri!! on Ice is quite an original anime. Allow me to share said bias <3 It's the first ice skating anime out of all the sports anime. The animation is absolutely stunning as well! Mind you, consistently animating such elegant movements but also incorporating detail (to portray the gracefulness of some actions or the feeling of the choreography/music) is rather hard. Yuuri!! on Ice does an outstanding job at doing this. Plus, the OP and ED are stunning! The animation fits so well with the music yay~ Next, these characters are absolutely lovable. We see that Yuuri, the main protagonist, has a lot of character development to go. He's insightful of his own feelings and actively tries to seek answers. From the first 3 episodes, we see that Yuuri doesn't back down when there are obstacles in his way. Yuri, or Yurio haha, still has some character development to undergo as well. I do admire that he's very open about his thoughts but he knows when to pipe down to people he cares about (ahemepisode3). Victor... Well, he's a tough cookie. My prediction is that he has this tragic backstory that Yuuri will discover over the course of this season. His happy side may just be a facade he reveals to the public. But maybe... Maybe when he's a special katsudon partner, he'll reveal more about himself. A plus is that none of this feels rushed or forced. Character development seems very natural. Hooray~ Now let me talk about the fun stuff. This anime is p gay. No joke, I'm pretty sure it's made to be this way. Let me elaborate. While I don't think that this anime will promote BL, I do think that Yuuri and Victor will develop an intimate relationship. Again, NO BL. Now.. Firstly, the clashing cultures between Yuuri (Japanese) and Victor and Yuri (Russian) play a big part in their identities. The Japanese (and other Asian cultures) are rather reserved. They tend to close up their worries and insecurities. They don't really burden others with their own problems. It's just polite to do so. WHILE I AM NOT TOO SURE ABOUT THIS, I speculate that Russians are more outright with their feelings and concerns. I mean, in the first episode, Yuri SCREAMS into the open streets looking for Victor lol. Nevertheless, the current setting is Japan. Victor shares some pretty intimate moments with Yuuri. Now, I'm sure that being born and raised a Russian, it's in his nature to be very open. I'm pretty this starts to grow on Yuuri as he's the one who initiates a hug in the third episode. ALSO, HE FINDS HIS EROS/SEXUAL DESIRE BECAUSE OF VICTOR. Didn't Victor say that he wanted to eat Yuuri- I MEAN KATSUDON? Also as a little side note, in the ED, there's a picture of Victor combing Yuuri's hair back. This is an act OF INTIMACY. Lit by only candle, in the darkness of the night, the two share a quiet and blissful moment together. I mean, just look at their expressions. Is it not gold? :'D Now that I have unleashed my fujoshi side... Ahem. You see why I love these characters? Hehe... (Another little plus, the seiyuus are great. 10/10 Junichi Suwabe as Victor.) TLDR: Please watch Yuuri!! on Ice. It's great. Great art, music, characters. Yay. I dunno if you've read to this far. Can you tell that I just want another anime fan to indulge in this masterpiece? All in all, I definitely recommend you to try it. An anime of this caliber certainly surprised me. Maybe it'll grow on you too~ Well i do know now what makes people like this show, but sadly i do not share those same interests. Ice skating itself as a sport is kinda dull and you praised the animation, but i found it kinda weak (maybe i just have too high expectations) since the movement seemed unnatural. Then again, only reason i cannot like haikyuu is because the way they make the characters faces go through the net, completely destroying the sense of dept in the scenes. Small things can ruin a show for me. ps. Russians are quite homophobic, in case you didnt know. |
