Screw the animation quality, can anyone please tell me, how the hell they can confess that they love each other and then don't do jack shit about it? I mean, in ep. 7 she says that she loves him, then in ep. 8 he says he loves her, then he wants to hold hands with her, and she's just oblivious to the point of asking "the fuck's that hand for?", while already having said that she loves him.
Someone, please do enlighten me, how the heck is it possible to stay in such a position after having your cards played, 'cos there aren't many outcomes, you either stay friends, you start dating or you just cease to do anything with that person and go your separate ways.

This story has become contrived and the characters slightly moronic. I've seen stories of similar genre rated in the 6's that do a much better job than the last two episodes. I thought it was just my expectations but it seems that it's not just me. I was not expecting this dip in quality based on the first several episodes.

The only ending that makes sense now is a revelation that Naho actually has something innately wrong with her

You know, I'm not really mad at the anime nor did I enter with any expectations to be let down, but it's really baffling how the "relationship" developed or is developing between Naho and Kakeru, and one must wonder how things got to be this messy, when there was nothing to mess up.
And I really hope that Naho is diagnosed with some clinical condition, because there's no other way to explain her complete lack of awareness to other peoples emotions, as well as surroundings, because oblivious is a small to word to use here. I can understand that Kakeru's an emotional trainwreck, a ticking time bomb, but Nahos actions are the most baffling to me.
The relationship that they're pushing, as well as the author, it's just forced, because I don't see how those two types of personalities are going to match, nor do I see Naho as someone who's able to act when needed, especially for someone who requires an outgoing, eloquent, supportive and delicate person in order to try and tame their unpredictability.

I'm not sure what happened to the budget, but the art and animation's been dropping considerably the past few episodes.... It was so obvious and noticeable in this episode especially. Those faces are poorly drawn. I hope it gets better for the last few episodes....

Other than that, I enjoyed the episode. A bit slow, so hopefully they'll pick up the pace from here. Hagita never ceases to amuse me, though. I love this guy.

The quality took the episode. it was so bad the supoosedly emotional scenes made me laugh. The fact that the episode had some actual comical moments didn't helped at all.

Btw, people can say anything they want about harem mC, but Hell, Naho is a fucking brick.

Happy Birthday Azu. The Umbrella plan went well.

Naho & Kakeru finally held hands.

Nice to see all their family at the Sports Festival.
LOL Hagita drawing on a 6 pk on his body.

Kakeru wondering if Suwa should be with Naho instead.

Ugh, Naho pisses me off majorly sometimes. Still, decent ep aside from the animation goofs. I think Suwa's plan is kinda dumb and can backfire miserably but I doubt it will 'cause plot.

You know, I could take it up until now, but at this point Naho's complete idiocy vis a vis showing her feelings to Kakeru/reading his is driving me crazy. She's just too stupid to be believed, especially when he asked her out and she said no!

The animation tho, I hope they make it better for the next episodes (please, I beg).

Naho is annoying sometimes, why can't she be a little be more useful? I mean, you know you love him, he loves you, then why do you reject him!?!?! This is getting me mad ;A;

That body of Suwa-senpai tho ~ And I got really mad when Kakeru said that he would be happy if Naho and Suwa start going out. WTF, you liar.

Oh my.. The animation was painfully bad this episode. Kinda wasted some scenes i was looking forward too. :/

So far i don't think this adaptation is doing the manga justice, feels kinda flat and forced at times. Doesn't really have the emotional impact that the manga gave me.

Oh god, the animation and art direction in general were so awful. I thought the previous episodes looked bad, but THIS... this is painful to watch. I mean, they were totally off the mark during the scene where Suwa questions Kakeru on the value of his and Naho's relationship. Compare this to the manga, and you'll know what I mean.

Naho's denseness is definitely hard to stand in the anime. I don't remember being this angry with her when I was reading the manga. It's like she doesn't have a brain, or at least one that works.

I'm too far into this show to stop here. I'm gonna finish it, even if it looks like total dog shit by the last episode.

Really boring and the art/animation sucked. I mean the art/animation was never this shows strong point and was kind of on the bad side, but I mean come on. Since the first episode this show has done nothing, but gone downhill in art/animation, enjoyment, and plot. It sucks because I love romance stories AND time travel stories, so you would think I would love this one, but this just seems like a typical cliche shoujo.

Orange has left a bitter taste in my mouth (see what I did there ;D?), kind of can't wait for it to end to be honest. This will probably be one of the handful of anime that I have rated below a 5 depending on how it ends, but as it stands now its moreso a 4/10 for me.

@Yaamare

Exactly, this is what I have been saying all along. It ruins the whole purpose of the anime for me. I work in the mental health field and it just irritates me that them trying to get Naho with him is what is going to save him -_-. I do like how they realistically portray depression though, that is a strong point of this show (one of the few if only I have seen so far). Also Naho and Kakeru have like 0 chemistry lol, its just a bad pairing. Some of the scenes between them seem forced (not just because both of them are awkward, it just doesn't seem like the pairing works for some reason?).

@Joe88

OMG please tell me you photoshopped that woman's eye (the one that is holding the little girls hand in the center). Her eye is huge and coming off her face on one side and small on the other LOL. That is pathetic to release something like this.

@Ouriel

Exactly, it just seems like a forced pairing to me. Not to mention she should be the last person to save this guys life by dating him, not that dating someone will stop them from committing suicide anyways. So much wrong with this picture here...

Yeah, it just seems like this may have not been adapted well at all, but I still don't know if I can get past the whole plot of everyone trying to hook Naho up with Kakeru to save him. It kind of just turns me off to it :/. The manga may be very good, but as far as plot wise, it seems like its not the type of story for me. I thought they were going to moreso try to save the guy instead of making this a hookup simulator or make the romance at least a sub-plot, but it seems like its the main focus on saving Kakeru which seems counter-intuitive to me. It also probably has to do with the fact that I work in mental health, so this whole idea of him dating Naho will save him is cringey to me. I mean if anything its causing the guy more grief dealing with her denseness (especially the scene when he put his hand out 2 times last episode lol) plus the 2 of them have like 0 chemistry and it seems forced (don't know if its like that in the manga).

It IS counter-intuitive

The adaptation isn't doing justice to the manga at all. Many stuff was lost because of the awful animation, including characters expressions and emotions, or because the studio choosed to focus on less important scenes and plotlines (see: Ueda's arc) and then rushed with the better ones...

Everyone pretty much said it. Meh animation, both of them being very dense/dishonest, especially Naho (Holy crap).

And of course pushing the romance forward as a way to save him. I mean REALLY pushing it forward. I still think it will end well, and after this is over I'll read the manga. Don't feel like they're doing it justice at this point.

Just for the records, this is what happens when half your art directors and all the animators are Korean. There were only one Japanese animator, I guess he was in charge of the rain sequence, because that's the only quality part. Even the in-between animation checker was Korean. Now, the question is why Telecom Animation Film/TMS turned to NAMU Animation for help animating the series. It could be either under-staff, scheduling or budget issues. I just hope they keep their act together and do this again ever.

Note: I have nothing against Korean animation, there are some good and capable Korean animators and studios. But I have seen quite a few examples that when Anime is outsourced to Korea for a single episode, it gets crappy animation as a result.

I can accept QUALITY but this made me notice how much I dislike the dialogue.

Not that I want them to delve into some deep conversations, I get it they're in high-school, but about 90% of the lines end up with them laughing. I did say it was awkward back at around ep.4 but shit... it's the same thing over and over.
Not even Suwa's abs can save me from this perpetual facepalm. ;~;

Naho is touched in the head huh.
Now I understand why Kakeru is constantly depressed, I would be too if she hung around me all the time.

So the gang exchanges information and they find out that they have been told to get Naho and Kakeru together because that'll help him out. Azu didn't believe the letter at first which is why she supported Ueda and Kakeru. Although I think she should have believed the letter the moment Kakeru took a couple of weeks off after the first day at school.

It was nice to show someone else's letter other than Naho's. They showed Azu reading the letter and then acting accordingly. She knew that she would get a surprise birthday party and even knew the gifts she would get, and she still acted surprised so skillfully. And they all knew it would rain even though the forecast was sunny. Such forecasting. And Naho and Kakeru walk together home under an umbrella. The two then say that they're fine even if they don't date each other. I'm not sure why Naho feels that way too. Kakeru already said that he doesn't want to take big decisions with the off chance that he might regret them later on, but what Naho's deal is here, I don't know.

And Naho gave up on doing everything on her own as she's back to relying on the letters. Well why did you put them away in the first place if you're gonna take them out the next day anyway? (Although she picked up the letters again right before the athletics meet and after the rain event, but she still picked them up nevertheless.) I feel the stuff they pushed through with Naho putting away the letters has all been wasted since she took them out without seeing the result of deviating from the letter's instructions. She did end up messing up with the umbrella as she offered to give him his own and share with Azu, which obviously the letters forbade her from doing but she didn't know. It should have been quite obvious though.

And Kakeru's problem in the athletics meet wasn't just that he fell down and lost, no one from his family came which made him feel even more lonely and sad. The fall only made him more depressed. So Suwa invites Kakeru's grandmother so that there is at least someone there. Suwa inviting her made sense since Kakeru told him about his mother's death and he could expect Suwa to try and help.

And Kakeru is a bit cranky there. He's a bit off and his grandmother notices it. And along with that, Suwa gets a bit pushy and tells Kakeru to date Naho because if he doesn't someone else might take her away. Even if he might move or something, he should still date Naho. And he even asks whether it would be okay or not if he dates Naho instead of Kakeru. And it does seem like Kakeru is regretting that answer. He's in a bit of a foul mood now and it'll be up to Naho to fix things. She should really ask him out because Kakeru put it up to her. Kakeru doesn't want to date her because he feels Naho might not want it but if Naho asks him out, especially after he asked her during the rain, it'll work out.

The big problem this episode had was the artwork. God damn it's starting to fall apart. I wasn't really fond of the character designs from the start, but the overall quality was pretty good at first. Now the quality has dropped so low I was cringing at almost every scene. The backgrounds seem more or less unaffected, but everything else is looking like crap. That's what happens when you give this to some no name studio. But then again, every studio has its quality falls from time to time.

Naho is being a problem here and might end up being one for herself. She should have offered Kakeru to share umbrellas with her herself because that's what the letters would have told her. She should have also accepted Kakeru's proposal to date him when he asked. If she decided to not read the letter, she should have stuck with that decision. And she should really try to make decisions herself instead of having others do it for her. She made some decisions previously and took big steps but now she isn't doing that anymore. Maybe it's because she now has more people to help her out so she's relying on them more. She isn't taking the obvious decisions and is screwing up big time. Maybe that's why she picked up the letters again. In any case, dropping the letters didn't seem to be doing her favours if the rain event is anything to go by with. If that really is the case then it's good that she noticed it. But she should have picked them up after the result of the relay race. Picking up the letters again so quickly isn't good.

The visual quality is just going to go down from here onwards. I don't think things will be looking any better now. The quality started dropping noticeably a couple of episodes back but now things are just looking cringe worthy. Really hope everything else at least makes up for its crappie visuals.
