I have one, Grander Musashi RV.
Too bad I'm not watching the prequel.

>What got you watching those series to begin with?

I randomly pick it at the store.

I've read a bunch of manga which have very few members, but when it comes to anime the only tv series I've seen with less than 10k members are all series I watched on tv many years ago.
These are:
- Alps no Shoujo Heidi
- Arabian Nights: Sindbad no Bouken
- B-Densetsu! Battle Bedaman
- Mitsubachi Maya no Bouken
- Muumin
- Chiisana Viking Vickie
And for less than 1k members: Geragera Boes Monogatari.

I watched quite a few other nostalgic anime on tv like these, but I don't add those to my list because I didn't complete them; just watched them occasionally when I felt like it.

I however haven't watched any series with that few members in recent years apart from maybe rewatching one of the above.
For those who seek perfection, there can be no rest on this side of the grave.
Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

Well, I've seen "The Chocolate Panic Picture Show"...that's it lol.

That was one of the most trippy anime I've seen, it was pretty fun to watch. Just a short OVA, and interesting for the fact that it was actually the first anime production by Studio Gainax aside from the DAICON openings, fascinating stuff lol.

Oh, there's also Les Miserables: Shoujo Cosette I suppose lol.

The only other shows I've seen that get close to that count (but still about another 10k off) are "Lupin III" the 1971, or "Green Jacket" version, and "Revolutionary Girl Utena: The Movie - Adolescence of Utena," both of which have about 20 k users.

@Brand

Later this month I'm planning to do a marathon of some Gainax OVAs, Gunbuster, Diebuster, FLC, Re: Cutie Honey, and I might throw in the Royal Space Force movie too.

I didn't add the series with short episodes, sequels, ovas, onas, etc.

I'll bookmark the link to this list, since there's so many interesting anime in it. And I'm surprised about how little members some anime have.

@Rocko52

Diebuster is one of my all time favorite anime. I finally got around to watching Gunbuster for the anime challenge last year and really liked that also. (Diebuster has a lot more nostalgia for me so it wins out for me).

Re: Cutie Honey is really good, though the first episode is the best out of all of them. Still, really enjoyable to watch.

I'm ashamed to say I still haven't seen Royal Space Force, I plan on watching it. Just haven't gotten to it yet. Hopefully, this year with the anime challenge.

Or: How hipster are you? - The thread.

Bonus 1: How many series with less than 1,000 members have you seen?
Bonus 2: Find someone else ITT who's seen the same series.

Note that short shows, specials/OVAs/ONAs/movies/etc don't count as less people watch those to begin with. Neither do sequels.

Go here to find things.

To avoid making this a listing thread, talk about the obscure anime you've seen, whether or not you care about them, and maybe discuss some obscure anime recommendations. Maybe even talk about anime that you were surprised to find out wasn't obscure/was obscure. What got you watching those series to begin with? Are there any obscure series you want to see?

For me, I've seen:
-Burn Up Excess: The local DVD rental shop had it many years ago, so I watched it. I don't remember it.
-Fushigiboshi no☆Futagohime: Only seen the first few episodes, but for a kids' show it's not bad. Not sure why I started watching it.
-Chance: Triangle Session: My dad bought me the DVD box set, so I watched it out of obligation. I've never come across anyone else who's seen this.
-Momoiro Sisters: No memory of this at all, lol. Has hardly 1k members...

However, the most obscure anime I've seen, which is a short that was never released anywhere and was only ever aired on TV -- back in the early 2000s -- is Minimoni. Yaru no da Pyon!, which only has 94 members. If anyone else who's seen it posts in this thread, I'll... Idk, watch SAO or something. I'm unable to find several of the episodes so I think it'll permanently be on my on-hold list. It's a cute little series about idols messing around, but I don't think I'd ever recommend it. Especially since it's so hard to find.

FYI, the most obscure entry on MAL (not counting things that haven't aired or hentai) is Ojiichan ga Nokoshite Kureta Mono: Moetemo Moenai? Moenikui! with only 5 members.

How the fuck would I know which shows ive seen have less than 10k? Who even checks that? I dont get joy out of seeing things that others havent so i never even check and see.

@Spyro

There's some great stuff there! There's a lot of old 60's-70's anime I really want to watch, especially the early works of Miyzakai and Takahata, and the old Toei films, Nippon Shows, and the World Masterpiece Theater shows.

There are about ten or so series I've seen or am watching that fall in the 10k less.

Night Walker (where I got my username Riho from, actually)
Nishi no Yoki Majo: Astraea Testament
009-1
Senkaiden Houshin Engi
Shinkon Gattai Godannar!!
Uchuu no Kishi Tekkaman Blade
Kaitou Saint Tail
Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu Gaiden: Senoku no Hoshi, Senoku no Hikari
Whistle!
Kazemakase Tsukikage Ran
Cluster Edge
Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu Gaiden: Rasen Meikyuu

I only went up to 3200 as far as checking XD

I honestly didn't even realize so many of those were in the less watched category =o

My all-time lowest is Kimi wa Sou Kimeta with 72 members

I've seen 10, best one is Appleseed Alpha

Check it out.

Edit: just realized that movies/OVAs/ONAs/specials don't count, with that point taken in consideration then its only one show.

However if you want to see the movie click the link above.
