Worst anime I've seen in winter so far. Boring story and characters. I wish if the characters were all females, it would be easier to watch. Why there is almost no sport with female characters ?!

LOL Why don't you go back to your Tekyuu s7?

Seems like this is going to be a fun show. The racing really had a "street" vibe to it which actually made it exciting due to a sense of unpredictability being mixed in.
Yes, I really liked that! From the start, it reminded me of K-Project, because of the bright blue/green tones and the very street feel.

But considering this is based on an otome game, I'm kind of worried that it'll be ruined or at least become less good because of the reverse harem.
I'm hoping it isn't that romance focused or just focuses on one pair (main pair)

Don't really understand some people's opinion on this so far, people are making it out to be one of those anime's which is like marmite, you either love it or hate it. Personally, I really enjoyed the opening episode and the characters and sport are both interesting enough that, even if you don't like the genre, you can appreciate. There are probably some petty reasons as to why some of you don't like it and if, which I assume, is the case, then don't just drop this anime, drop all anime, you don't deserve it.

On the other hand, was really shocked at that very pass by-able nugget of info, when they mention the third year called yagami, which I assume was the one from the start, which is probably his brother or something? Without any solid info, leaves me confused as to if it's his brother or him himself as the two runners at the start look EXACTLY like Yagami and the Black-haired fellow.

As of now, I could say that the anime is 'okay'. It was promoted as sport, but I feel that this has more shoujo-ish aura than anything (Meh! >_<). Maybe because it's Nana centric - a girl for that matter. I also got a feeling of reverse harem (which I don't really like) like dabolic lovers and the likes. More so with the girl personality and what's with the good looking guys around her.

Nevertheless I still find it tolerable, though I'll drop this faster than a hot potato when even a hint of romance develops or when everyone including new guy characters started getting too attached with the lone female girl as though she's life itself.

I went in with low expectations since this is an otome game adaptation & only gave this a try since this is the only madhouse show of the season, I really didnt expect to enjoy it this much! Atsuko Ishizuka's colourful direction certainly helps, plus I generally liked the characters. Likeable cast.

The only problem was the yaoi undertones & otome atmosphere (I am not the intended audience anyway), but good that they focused more on sports & kept the romance angle low. The parkour scenes were really cool too. The production isnt usual madhouse standards tho, looks kinda sloppy.

Z4k said:
Nah, not gonna bother with this one. Although it's still a shame Atsuko Ishizuka's talent is being wasted on shows like this.

yeah, kinda bummed that she ends up with otaku centered shows but I cant really blame her or madhouse, she's the only one there who knows how to do these stuff. (last time madhouse hired their kaiji/akagi/one outs staff for mahou sensou.... Cough)
Imagine a berserk anime by Yoshiaki kawajiri at Madhouse.

Now take a look at Berserk (2016).

Pleasant enough vision, the fuse that led me to start it was the curiosity about the subject matter, in terms of characters I can not complain, they all look nice and yet not I go over. Drawings and animations sufficient, for now I will follow this anime series.

The race was intense, I'm glad to see parkout in anime, the character designs are kind of simple and boring. It's Madhouse, so I'm confident the animation wuality will hold up throughout the series and the races will remain entertaining. Character development and execution of romance will determine how much I like it, it could be great or really lame.

Maybe I’m just overlooking something simple and should I really just go to bed or something. But I don’t understand that take over zone thingy. In this episode we see the second runner running BEHIND the first runner, so why would you accelerate as the first runner in that scenario? You could just slow down since the second runner needs to catch up with you anyway and it doesn’t really matter when he does (as long as it's in the zone). The whole scene would’ve made a lot more sense to me if Takeru had to catch up with Riku instead. Besides I hope that the role of a relationer is more than just looking at a computer screen and telling the next runner that he has to start, because it looks silly to me that it’s that unusual for a girl to be able to do that (and it also doesn’t look that important). Lastly it also looks weird that the race is such a big deal while the club itself is almost abandoned. Why are not more people joining the club? Though I assume that that will be answered along the way.

O well even though I may sound a bit negative the characters are likable enough for me and it made me chuckle a few times so this episode still entertained me somewhat and I’ll just see where it goes.

Don't really get why make up a name like Stride when all they do is Parkour... the only difference is that it's a relay format if they called Prince of Parkour it would create a lort more impact I think. One thing that I didn't like was they trying to pull shounen fans into this while putting few females here and there, when this all seems to be bromance for shoujo fans. Liked the episode though, animation was good.

Its looks like a fun anime some haikyuu, air gear and free! vibes in it.
Visuals looks good characters are all likable so far but the best is of cousre the soundtrack.
Hope we get some focus on Sakura since shes the only girl which raises the question why in most shounen sports are very few female on it.

It's only the first episode, it will most likely get explained later, that's why they didn't explain it, to make people watch the next episode to find it out. This is a pretty common thing for TV shows/anime/media.

That was some intense parkour/freerunning

This was the only scene that actually made me 'gasp' on the edge of my seat. other than that...i was kinda hoping for the animation to be...a bit better, with a lot more dynamic parkour, but...it honestly felt pretty lazily done. like, it could have been way better with a lot more scenes put into it to make it look much, much better. Most of the scenes where only upper body shots which while they looked ok, it still felt flat...or plain..(not ganna lie back here i'm remembering there was some good scenes during the race which was awesome)
Also, with nana, with her love for stride, I expected her to actually be an actual runner. but nope, just another girl 'decided' to be a manager instead. just to have a female there. God why does every sports anime have to do this?

And this is what made me remember why this is called 'Stride', very nice running start!
I'm gonna hang on for a few more eps, to see if it would get any better.

Well, it IS from an OTOME game so no-fucking-duh is it going to be shoujo-ish. That's like watching a harem or ecchi and getting pissed at so many girls fawning over an ordinary male lead and why there's so much fanservice in an ecchi show.

I usually don't watch shoujos but since this one is more sports-based then I decided to watch it. I liked the animation, it's very beautiful with lots of vibrant colors. The OP song is good. The character designs are reminiscent of other series and that bald guy in the volleyball team looks like Ryūnosuke Tanaka from Haikyuu!

I don't know why I found this part so funny, it reminds me of those youtube videos that I save then can't watch anymore:

I also think it's funny one of their members is named Heath. Reminds me of Heath Ledger

Nana is so cute and her seiyuu is gorgeous <3 Hanazawa Kana <3 I'm glad that her character is actually going to PARTICIPATE in the tournaments and won't just be a manager or side character oogling the guys drenching in sweat (ew, gross)

Fujiwara's pretty funny, always squatting down and touching their legs from behind. I'm getting yaoi vibes from it and I'm sure the fujoshis will be all over him and Riku. I can see the yaoi fanart now.

So Stride is like sprinting with parkour then?

Doesnt do really anything different compared to other sport animes.

The humor felt kind of forced.

But overall not too bad really. The run parts were great.

I really enjoyed this- way more than I thought I would. I love the artstyle. It's so stylized and colorful, and colorful goes a long way with me when it comes to art. The parkour-style relay is definitely entertaining to watch and has the potential for some great races later on.

So long as it doesn't focus on the romance too much I think it will be a top 3 anime this season. It definitely should focus on the sports side more because even though it's adapted from an otome, the vast amount of the viewership isn't watching for the romance aspect.
