Okay this episode just proves how bad of an idea it is to go pass the manga. (I really hope this is an anime original ending).

By far the most retarded part was Krul losing to Ferid when she curb stomped him in S1 Ep3/4. That was unbelievably anti-climatic. Look I don't mind if she gets captured and labelled as a 'traitor' but the way it was done here was completely stupid. I mean just a 13th and 7th progenitor take down a 3rd!!! Dear oh dear I just hope to God this does not happen in the manga.

Serveral characters behave differently as well like Kimizuki who was much more furious in the manga.

This episode gets a 3/10

Overall season gets a 6/10.
That was 5 years ago

Considering two centuries is considered 'short' to a vampire, do you really think 5 years will change crap?

Nothing but another 25 minutes of tomfuckery to keep one busy. What the hell was that shit. 3/10 for the god-awful everything. 1/10 for killing off Krul.

Manga is the last hope. Please don't be as shitty as this.

The manga is so much better than the anime, I recommend starting from the very beginning since the anime skipped a lot, and so you can appreciate the art.

I assure you, almost all these problems are fixed in the manga. The nakama thing is a theme, tho, so it's not changing.

Imo Yu is more likeable in the manga and Mika is still kinda-dramatic, but not in an annoying way.

Also, yes, the manga art is orgasmic.

The end was quite confusing, Yu could be better with his power and name.

They forgot to say to save Krul, shes another likeable character. Mika, you should of told them to save Krul, dont just forget her.

It would of been an 9 but still a strong 8.8

Thank you , you did all the typing for me.

Overall I give this a 4/10 same as season 1. Wasted potential. Overall the characters just don't feel alive for me.
Honestly I just can't take this show seriously when it wants to be taken seriously.
The story itself is a mess and doesn't offer any explanations for anything and just feels like a clusterf@#k full of ideas randomly thrown together.
I'll be keeping an eye on the source material as well in hopes that it might be better , however thus far I am not impressed at all.

I agree I got lost at some point but which part did you get lost?

For me I think it was more rushed than lost when it was a battle between vampire against human then demon and angels came into the battle so it just became too awkward. In other words too much action were thrown into a mix bag.

Yeah somewhere around the time the angel entered the battle is probably where I lost it. After that it's like my brain was stuck on that and everything that happened afterwards just kinda passed by my eyes without my brain registering anything. Like everything happened soooooooooo crazy fast.

Great pun and a very agreeable opinion.

It was interesting but let a lot of stuff without a proper conclusion.

1st About that trompets;
2nd The real story about Krul Tepes and her secrets;
3rd Vampires made their first move...;
4th What happened with Guren in the past?
And 5th what have happened is the last four months?

Btw, this was better than the first season. That's my opinion and I don't care about what do you think about my way of mark this story. So 10/10! ^.^

This episode was just something else compared to the rest of the season - way amazing - loved it. This sets quite well considering we'll probably have sequel for all this.

More of this yes please/5

EDIT: after some reading of the comments I can say something more:
Agreed, it was very rushed, although to me it was pretty clear - it's not like you can answer everything in such a short burst of plot.
Also, the cloaks with Guren and Kureto were obviously sign of their promoting/symbol of their status as the Big Bosses of the human organization.

Yet I'm so happy how this all turned out - it's screaming out for the sequel that will give a lot more answers for all the confusion. Needs moar manga, that's all - so glad there wasn't a (purely?) original ending that kinda tried to answer some plot stuff and would almost certainly fail.

Krul, either dead or fainted. My inclination was toward fainted. Ferid likes to play people and sides to his advantage. I understood the anime but a lot happened in this last episode. Yu's seraph always goes on about human sin and purifying everyone, so salt made sense. Salt, in it's magical properties wards off evil.
+ More Mika in this episode, is always a good thing. 90% of why I watch is Mika.
+ Manga and anime are covered up until Yu blowing the trumpet (where chapter 40 ends). I suspect the authors may be working together because from what I have read seems to mostly match anime.
- Mika protested Yu going back to save friends in manga 'I am your only family' but was okay with it in anime.

Manga is slower and clearer, hoping it covers up to the end of this episode or covers this episode more slowly.

Jeez. I cant think of ANYTHING in these last two episodes that wasnt rushed. Even the action was rushed and explanations cut out to make enough room to finish. (Although, Krul destroying Crowley in 2 seconds flat was insanely satisfying--o wait nvm hes back on his feet ofc). Okay what the actual fuck? 4 month time skip in the middle of an important scene.

The entire point of the 2 season series was crammed into the end. This series seriously could have been amazing and had plenty of room for good plot development, but it just wasnt paced properly at all.

Cant believe Im doing this, but Im going to have to nail this one down to a 6/10. And thats being generous, giving credit to the enjoyable parts of the season.

The first season felt stale and missed action scenes which this one had in abundance, but this one felt so rushed. A lot of thing where not explained and the few things that where didn't seem to have much relevance towards the end.
It feels like the original material had so much to give and that the adaptation was so poorly made.

No idea what to rate this. Another non-ending, and given that there's no manga material left, we certainly won't be getting another season for a long time. Oh, well. Seraph had its moments I guess. So long for now.

Do you ppl not realise that you sound like spoilt children when you say shit like this? Exactly what anime are you comparing this to? Something by Studio Ghibli or Ufotable? Only the hella high budget TV animes'll ever have background characters that aren't low detail. Even movies leave bg characters in low detail. Why the fuck would they waste money drawing a face on a guy who's all the way in the back? Just cause you can pause it and zoom in to point it out doesn't make the animation bad, especially since it's meant to be watched animated (clue's in the name, kids) at the resolution they released it in.

I mean yeah, the first cour had a few issues where they didn't have time to add in between frames to a couple episodes that was gonna be fixed in the BDs anyway, but this season's animation has been really on the ball. Especially this last episode, which looked AMAZING! Or did you all just close your eyes for the scene where Yuu became the king of salt?

Well I'm going to read the manga now, Hearing that everyone says the anime was nothing compared but then you have to think how some people are so confused STILL even though they cut out A LOT, yes it won't compare to the manga but that's because it had endless detail in it, it's such a Complex plot line it's Understandable if one scene wasn't as dramatic as it was in the manga, it's cause they didn't have time to build up to it, with the amount of information they had to put into the episode. y EA the pacing of season one was off a bit but I think it definitely improved this season.
At the end of the day I think the animators did a really good job on this!!!

The author wrote the plot line for the anime + manga.

But that's irrelevant, considering how much WIT omitted important lines.

King of Salt is perfect for Yuu, considering how salty he was during the whole series.
I'm sure a bunch of you are followers of him as well. Considering how much salt is in this post.

Anyways, I will agree that this felt rushed af. I would've taken a cliffhanger during all that shit over having a rushed last few episodes to catch up with the manga + a chapter. Oh well, nothing we can do about that.

Is it only me who thinks Guren's decision to be loyal to Kureto is only an acting? Maybe he and Mahiru will betray Kureto. Mahiru always betray the Hiragii family. That's why i think he will do a move to help Yuu and company in the end.

No, I've contemplated that many times.

In general, if Guren didn't follow Kureto, Kureto'd probably torture his loved ones. We all know how much Kureto loves using torture.

Apart from that, Guren does have his own goals.
This was supposed to be included last season, but WIT, being WIT, decided to leave it out:

For a long time his goal has been to usurp the throne for the Hiiragis. He's not loyal to Kureto at all, so you could say he was acting, but it's not like he's ever acted serious around Kureto. I mean, did you see all the bored faces he threw around in one of the earlier eps? Don't get me wrong, they do have a friendship, but it's not like Guren's Kureto's dog, who always follows him. This isn't Aoi we're talking about.

As well as that, seeing as Mahiru hates Kureto from heaven to hell, I doubt she'd let Guren be swayed by him.

Also, there's this page, which wasn't really included:

Using the knowledge from those two, important, pages, that happened to not be included in the anime, you could safely say that Guren is certainly not on Kureto's side. It's just that Guren doesn't hate Kureto, either.

I'd like to use my knowledge of the LN to help, but everything after Volume 4 is a clusterfuck and Guren's goal might've changed as he grew older.

Yes. That was my point. Guren has a plan... better: Mahiru has her plan to destroy the Hiiragis. He is just acting, therefore Shinya and Yuu don't understand that (apparent) change.

Since the anime doesn't show that moment when Mahiru tells Guren not to awake, it isn't so clear in the anime. But that lines in the manga made me understand that "acting".

My doubt is... how far will that plan go?

I think always in a prologue of the LN.

I can even think that Mahiru's plans will be good or fair for Yuu and friends. M and G can go as far as they can

Lol. I'm just trying to see who are the heroes and who are the antagonist. Owari no Seraph changed the allies and the enemies. First (all) the vampires were the enemies, and now the Hiiragi family (not all). Until i don't know nothing about Mahiru's plan, i don't really know if they are allies or enemies. It can change even in the end of the story.

At this point of the story i only see a chess with pawns who die because of reasons we don't know yet.

Probably, but not for a long time. Like a LONG time. They covered all the material and then some. There is literally negative material left to adapt because the anime jumped ahead.

Since they basically did the same thing as they did with AoT, I'm gonna guess roughly 3 years with an announcement sometime in year 2.

The light novel and the manga have not finished yet.

The seraph's arc is begining... we have to discover 5 seraphs more!!

Maybe the s3 will be aired on july 2016 or october... I hope they won't end the anime with exclusive OAV/OAD. I just hate it.

July or October 2016? Are you high? There is literally zero material left. Unless you expect them to turn 6 future chapters into an anime.

Yes. You're right. I read the manga again and compared it to the s2. So S2 includes chapter 20 to chapter 41-...42?. Then s3 could be aired in 2017. But i don't think they will wait til 2017. They didn't wait to do the s2 and they anticipated in the anime the next chapter(s)

What 'acting'? It's not Guren anymore, it's Mahiru. I'm kinda confused about what you're saying.

My doubt is... how far will that plan go?

It's been going for ~19 years, so I'm sure it'll go far.

I think always in a prologue of the LN.

Well, in the end, Guren would never be able to sacrifice his friends. In fact, it was something Kureto mentioned during their talk.

I can even think that Mahiru's plans will be good or fair for Yuu and friends. M and G can go as far as they can

Well, Mahiru alone. The reason Mahiru didn't want Guren to wake up was because, like she said, he would never be able to recover from it.

In stories like these, it's best not to try to separate good and evil because, at some point, you will hit a rock. Mahiru and Guren would be perfect examples of 'grey' characters.

Since the anime doesn't show that moment when Mahiru tells Guren not to awake, it isn't so clear in the anime. But that lines in the manga made me understand that "acting".

What 'acting'? It's not Guren anymore, it's Mahiru. I'm kinda confused about what you're saying.

Sorry, the best word is not 'acting'. I meant, Guren (possesed by Mahiru) is helping Kureto. For me, the fact that Mahiru is helping Kureto, looks like a trap for Kureto. Mahiru helping Kureto makes no sense if it's not part of the plan as a trap for Kureto.
