| I don't know... is it just me or is the writing in this anime a bit bad? First episodes were decent, but now I get this feeling after every episode that this could have been so much more. The plot seems a bit chaotic. There's too many characters popping from out of nowhere and disappearing. I like most, on the second thought, some of the characters a lot, especially those from the fantasy world. Leilei is tied with Papi as my waifu of the season. Rory is sexy, elf-chan is really pretty, even the ex-wife with her glasses on is pretty... ... but it's really about the plot. Something is missing. Some potential is wasted, on cliches, jokes repeated too many times... Will still watch for Leilei though ;) |

| Never read the manga, but I am 110% sure they will not fuck. Everybody knows it too, so the cliffhanger is pointless. If anything the cliffhanger is "how will they get interrupted?". |
| Mho the ending was was predictable, something out of context will probably happen next time, hiding away that with the cliffhanger. I wouldn't mind seeing Rory though but .. you know.. inevitable fan service >-> A pretty chilly episode. |
| China and Russia I would understand, but why would the U.S want royalty from a barbaric nation that slaughtered innocent citizens. Until Japan had completed the peace treaty, it seems a bit risky to invite royalty into the states, otherwise America would have complaints from the Japanese american communities in how America is preventing Japan from getting revenge for the innocent lives lost. Essentially if you aren't part of a certain persuasion a lot of this stuff comes across as largely meaningless. Also most Light Novel series really only try at plotting for the first volume or so and then promptly just settle into a pile of generic checklist tropes like girls like Yaoi or lol teh sexy cool gothic Lolita is acting sexy. This is why I tend to have rock bottom expectations for Light Novel series if I bother at all. Just kind of too juvenile and uncoordinated. The last time I saw one that felt any good at all and like there was some sort of greater goal and sense of purpose in mind to at least somewhat differentiate itself from other high school romance stuff was Oregairu. Oh well I would never have had high expectations of a show like Gate in the first place. I think that's where I differ from many. There hasn't really been a single episode worth anything more than a 3/5 kind of reaction. Its just another really mediocre A-1 series. |

| Didn't like this episode as much as the others. Too much political stuff muddying the fun atmosphere and cool fantasy feeling that it had. Was still fun in parts and its nice to see Kuribayashi getting more and more screen time but yeah, the political dealings and all just were pretty boring and honestly a bit stupid. America is blackmailing Japan to let them kidnap people from the other side... for what reason? They lose public opinion on Earth's side by doing that and make the other side hostile so its less likely they would be able to move troops in. It just is dumb. Looking forwards to them getting back to the Special Zone since that's when the show is most fun to me. |
