Some people think she's captured ... but I really doubt it. All evidence points to dead.

I dunno man, this episode gave me mixed feelings. Yuu falling into depression was a given, but the way he was "saved" was just dull. Personally, I would have liked it if he never went back to the student council and instead continued on his own. But whatever the case may be, I think Yuu awakening his inner sadist might have to do with the plot later on.

Anything thing, I don't necessarily believe Ayumi is dead. There was no confirmation this episode. All we got were words, that's all. Exactly where is the proof? And even if she dead, that doesn't rule out the possibility of her body being used for research and testing. Btw, anyone know who the lady that attempted to console Yuu is?

I hope he apologizes to his ex too

We saw a ton of blood amid the rubble, it was heavily foreshadowed ... are you not going to accept it until you see the body? :/

As for the lady, I'm guessing a family member.

That's actually a good point.

It's possible that they didn't know that Yuu had special powers/weren't able to take him because the police did first?

And also given what power Ayumi had, the scientists probably find out about it somehow. Because that shit is way too good to pass for them. I'd say it's even 90% that she is alive.

Though I still hope she's not.

No need to be alive to do experiment and test.
you can do this with your corpse

I doubt they still have their powers while dead though. Maybe she's in coma or something, but prob still alive if the scientists took her.

That was a bit scary seeing how Yuu dealt with the delinquents. I thought he was gonna really stab that guy in the eye.

I didn't feel sad watching this episode though. I like Yuu, but I never really felt anything for Ayumi and the show didn't do enough to make me feel for her at all. I was shocked at the end of the previous episode and didn't want her to die, but that shock fizzled out after a week.

Was I the only one feeling a little bit let down by this episode?

Loved the bits where Yuu was going a bit cray cray but I want to see the whole separating from the student council doing his own thing for more than one episode...I know he's still going to be grieving imouto but the whole 180 in one episode kind of annoyed me. I wanted to see Yuu go dark :o

Also what are you doing?? Dont watch angel beats! That will only make you feel worse!

Wow. That was magnificent. It wasn't at all what I expected in terms of direction, but damn was it fantastic. Starting by delivering the news of Ayumi's death so quickly acted like a massive sucker punc that played perfectly into Yu's spiral into a self-created kind of hell.

One question though: if Nao was following and watching him the whole time, even when he was fighting, wouldn't other people have seen her and, in the case of the gangs, attacked her? Cos I thought she could only make herself invisible to one person (unless the idea is that they were so focused on Yu that they didn't even notice Nao).

Still a fantastic episode though.

Wait what?! Ayumi is gone?! :(( My jaw dropped when I found out the shocking news. D:

I thought Yuu was gonna stay crippled forever (or else the plot won't move) but Nao was watching him all this time while her presence remains unnoticed using her ability. Well, this turnaround works, but I think it all happened too suddenly. It's amazing that Nao was able to do heal Yuu's heart to bring him back to his senses. The loss of his only family member was absolutely too hard for him to accept that it nearly broke him.

Still can't believe Ayumi is really gone... :'( Yuu was watching Angel Beats. Heh! xD

The way Nao helped Yuu was amazing even if it did happen suddenly, at least Yuu is back on track

I just don't think they have the time to spend more than an episode on this, though I kind of agree with you. Hopefully they will make it clear in the following episodes that Yuu is still damaged, if less so.

I don't need a body, but I'd like to see something along the lines of her actually being crushed. And the blood we saw doesn't have to belong to Ayumi. I agree that there was foreshadowing, however. It's blatantly obvious from the OP, but I though of it more as a disappearance, rather than death.

As for the lady, I doubt it was a family member.

Woah, Yuu went full Lelouch! Which isn't a bad thing.
I pretty much liked his breakdown. I had a depression and I could see myself a bit in himself when he had shut-in in his room.
Also, Yuu, the Street Pin King was so fun to see. What's more fun that to make all your enemy fight against each others?

Somehow, I didn't see Nao coming at all. It should have been obvious, but I guess that the way Yuu acted made me forget about the other characters. Her appearance was great.

The scene at the hospital kinda made me laugh though and I feel bad for it. It's just the way the doctor told him that his sister was dead, right after he woke. It was totally tactless.

yes and she also would have needed to use the toilet, eat etc. while in yuu's room. he should have noticed no matter how zoned out he was.

also one thing. remember the box cutter girl saw ayumi use her power so if the guys who want to experiment on those with powers asked her that might give them a lead to yuu because siblings etc.

What a heavy episode. After losing his sister, Yuu became very depressed. And things went worse, worse, till... He gets involved with the gangs. I had to close My eyes when Yuu stabbed those bandits. And that part when he would smoke.. I'm glad that Nao appeared and saved the day.

And the feels at the beggining and the end of the episode... I almost cried. Good episode, but I hope there are no more dark scenes in future episodes.

Omfg, it's LELOUCH!

Lol. I was laughing with Yuu during the whole episode. I mean, watching the MC play arcade games (while laughing hysterically) and stabbing thugs was so fun and hilarious, right?!
And Nao was there the whole time, gave me chills tbh.

Lol, the episode started with them telling us the imouto is dead. What to do, what to do. :(

Now, I'm curious as to what will happen next... Don't fail us, Jun Maeda!

(I'll give this one a 10/10 cuz I really loved seeing Yuu go all crazy and shit lol I cannot get over it.)

you can do this with your corpse

I was thinking the same thing. That if scientists were involved it would be with Ayumi's corpse. That way the death still stands yet experimentations can still be going on.

Eh... i hoped for some sort of MC going to the dark-evil side with a few other shady guys with powers:). At least that what i was speculating from one scene from the opening (i mean the guy in the middle wass so hard to identify from that fast frame, so it looked exactly like MC for me (except for hair when you look closely)...)

That could've been so much more exciting, cause last episode was already quite stupid with that crazy girl with a knife and death was abrupt, so why not go all the way.

Last week I said that episode 7 was going to be depressing. This episode turned out to be very painful to watch. Ayumi is dead. That upset me even though we all knew it was going to happen. I still don't believe that we've seen the last of her though. She's either still alive or she'll be resurrected or something; there's no way we won't see Ayumi again.
So Yuu is totally depressed; that's understandable. Now where on earth are his parents? Seriously. They're alive, aren't they? Can't they even come to their daughter's funeral? Oh well, I'll attribute that to anime logic...
I really enjoyed the reappearance of the cup noodles and Yumi Shirayanagi from episode 1. I didn't think we were going to see Yumi again and I most certainly did not imagine that they'd use the cup noodles in a situation like this. It was unpredictable so I enjoyed it.
That Angel Beats! cameo...
Yuu became absolutely horrible. The way he acted kind of creeped me out. The only reason why it didn't feel impossibly unrealistic is because of the Yuu we saw in episode 1. Though it was still painful to watch him stab so many people. Is it really possible to stab people with skewers?
Throughout the episode I was wondering one thing; where the hell is Nao? So I was pleased to see her appear at the end. When she revealed that she was with Yuu the whole time I was pretty surprised but it more or less makes sense. And though I know there's nothing romantic about the matter I know that Yuu and Nao are most probably going to end up together so I guess I'll consider this is a major bonding moment. She cooked for him too. I'd find that a lot cuter if it weren't for the surrounding circumstances but still.
When Nao said that she wanted Yuu to take just one bite of a certain food, I just knew it was going to be something filled with pizze sauce. Turns out I was right. Honestly, is there anyone who didn't see that coming? Well, that may have been a bit dull and predictable but I enjoyed Nao's whole "You took more than one bite so now you can't say that you won't have anything to do with me." That's the only thing in the entire episode that made me chuckle.
This episode wasn't exactly entertaining but it was necessary. I wonder what's going to happen next.
Yuu_vi_Britannia said:

In addition Nao is a monster. She wait until the person she want to use at the deepest shit and then come like a savior at that point.
Thinking of this, Nao had to wait to see how far he would go to stop him even though she could fix him whenever she wanted.

Well, I don''t think Nao could have fixed Yuu whenever she wanted. He wouldn't have listened to her if she had approached him right at the beginning. Though it is disturbing that Nao would just let Yuu hurt that many people. The morality of the characters are a bit messy.
