Garlic sauce and tomato paste is a viable substitute btw. Though yeah, pretty much the ketchup is a known ingredient of omelette rice
Considering the Japanese are in freaking love with their mayo, I'd say that works too as a substitute for the ketchup on top of the omelette.

I do feel like i'm missing the full experience without the ketchup but, I tried a small bite with ketchup and I felt my soul starting to die. Mayo, I might try.

Yes, I meant the beef. It's cooked to fuck.

Also when beef is cooked nicely it has brown bits on top.

Lol okay. Let's see your cooking now then.

Anyway I don't claim to be a pro, but really I just don't like rare meat. It's a preferential thing.

Not even medium rare? :/

Well some meat dishes have to be done in medium-rare I guess but as a rule of thumb for me, if it's edible and still flavorful when cooked as "well-done", I prefer the well-done version over rare. :/

Is there a particular reason why? Don't like how tender it is? The juices?

I mean...cooking beef well done is something that is considered blasphemous to many. I imagine a lot of the steakhouses I go to would honestly kick me out/not serve me if I ordered a steak well done.

I just don't like it I guess. I dunno. Maybe it's that patch of red in the middle or something? Yes I know the peeps on Masterchef practically worship that stuff but eh, not really my thing.

In the US and a lot of European countries? Well it kinda is blasphemous. In some other places, not really. For example I distinctly recall being able to have a good well-done porterhouse during a trip to Australia once. And Australia is known for their cattle.

Yea that makes sense. I went down to Latin America at some point and had some steak there and I don't think it was necessarily rare/medium rare. Could indeed be a Eurocentric sort of thing.

Yeah. Plus there are actually some newfangled fusion cuisine steaks that you can't tell the difference if its rare/medium rare or well-done since the meat's dripping with the reduction and marinade xD

In lieu of the main topic, there are some restos in Akihabara that serve rare steak, though they're more on stir-frying their beef lol or hotpot in the style of Sukiyaki.

Okay damastah, this is for you:

Something I made a few hours ago, sweet and sour stir fry with mango instead of pineapple:

Sushi I made a few years ago with my favorite fish, salmon:

I stole this recipe from Steve Herrell, who is imo the world's best ice cream maker. Malted vanilla ice cream that I made a few days ago (not a flattering photo but I'm lazy lol):

Italian-style tomato sauce pasta with a stuffed chicken breast (mozzarella, mushroom and basil) that I made a few years ago:

1st one looks good with awesome presentation~

Salmon sushi is always good. <3

3rd one... I guess it's the taste that counts? Uh...

Nice touch on the stuffed chicken. Those 3 give off quite the flavor especially the tanginess of mozzarella.

Sashimi on rice, 1 california maki piece, 1 crazy maki piece, fresh sashimi cutlets, tonkatsu strips, vegetable tempura, and an ebi tempura. And my own sauce.

My version of what Olwen posted a page back, a somewhat malted Vanilla Ice Cream.

I don't tend to Japanese Rice to be Sticky. Unless its the Glutinous Kind.

But i do get what you mean, as its depends on the grain and how its cooked.
