| Ok.....watched the subs and here is my thoughts : Positive: -The first 30 seconds before the op -the lightning and clouds in UBW -Rin's monologue about Archer -Shinji and his comic relief -That "Faker" though -Shirou's headache and a bit of analysis skill Negative: -The entire UBW part felt a bit underwhelming to me...I expected a bit more grandeur considering its related to the title drop -Rin and Saber's contract could have been a bit more flashy( imo) -that RM ground was....cringe worthy....too much CG -the entire episode felt VERY rushed -Archer vs Saber should have been longer specially after the contract -Saber-Lancer banter should have been extended |

| My main problem with this F/SN episode was the massive amount of talking heads with no movement whatsoever. It has been a problem throughout the two seasons, but it was somehow exceptionally apparent this time. They do it so in the VN and it works because it's a book, at least to some degree, but it bothers me that ufotable can't bother to find a proper way around it. At least some kind of movement could be appreciated. Because of the lame ass standing around the whole UBW scene lacked tension. Plus, where the fuck was the music, it was almost silent throughout |

Reality Marbles are extremly high level magecraft and as such it consumes shitloads of mana, there is no way Archer can mantain it for a long time without someone providing him with mana. |

| I guess they finally managed to turn what should've been an amazing episode into something meh. The first half felt weird, I dunno. The whole talk and stuff felt slow paced, but rushed at the same time in comparison to the visual novel. The UBW scene was disappointing and Shirou deflecting the swords one by one was nonsensical, like "duh, Saber could've done the same thing easily, no need to use her nobel phantasm". So basically, the threat Archer made earlier is void. He should've attacked with all swords at once in a way the Saber wouldn't be able to deflect them. The second half was decent, but I think the way Rin talked about Archer should've felt more impactful. Also, the way Rin talked about how she likes Shirou's naivety should've pissed Archer off, but he just looked indifferent. The scene with Shinji towards the end was nice though. How much energy does he have to be able to take all this punishment? Kuzuki was already strong as a person. The problem is his strength was raised far beyond human levels by Caster's enhancement magic. That's why Shirou couldn't fight him properly. If you take Caster's magic away though, like when Kuzuki decided to fight Archer without it... |

It was bootiful. The next thing is that Archer vs Saber after the contract coudn't be extended. Saber had Rin as a master and her class in the strongest while Archer doesn't have a master. Of course she could dominate him. I know... the dominance should have been made a bit more clearer though...thats why Archer casted ubw |

Well he was intending to do the same thing as Archer and not the lol suicide kanshou and bakuya in hand by Ufo, whether that happened or not is up for debate but it is followed by "... Broken pieces fly everywhere" then the Reality Marble dissapears. |
| Fate finally returned to it's full greatness and not only (five minutes greatness, 15 minutes of flashbacks) I am little disappointed in UBW by Archer though. While I can stand it being short (I am not happy with it but I can stand it), I was also impressed by general epicness of animation there, the thing that I can't forgive is THERE WAS NO FULL CHANT!!!! WHY!!!! WHY WERE THERE ONLY THREE LINES and all other epicness was skipped. I don't remember how exactly it went in VN anymore as I read it 5-8 years ago but why full chant. Even today after all those years I still go back to either Archer vs Berserk or simple chant from old version just for that chant! But anyway this episode was great, one of the better so far. |

| The only "rushed" part was Shirou blocking the swords and the UBW shattering. That ended rather abruptly. Also, I had hoped to see a more glorious Saber under Rin's power. Other than that, episode was fine. I was glad to see some bits related to Saber. Hopefully they'll be a few more so that her character arc (for those coming from F/Z) can get adequately resolved. Plenty of time left for Answer and endgame. |
