Seems to me more like Kare Kano than anything, comedy-wise. The chase scenes definitely reminded me of the part where Yukino was trying to avoid being roped into a play. Plus, give Sayo a mole and she is Maho Arisawa.
It was more than I expected, very funny and quite lighthearted, Mihoshi is really likable, so cute and sweet and I liked how he tricked Saku to join the Astronomy Club.
Saku is also likable being such a bookworm, getting all "excited" by just meeting a member of the Literature Club.
This show seems to have the comdey mix that I can make me enjoy it. I like the male lead and how much he has already had to put up with. No real great laughs but a lot of good ones that I could grow accustomed to.
Or should I say....somewhat odd? Mihoshi upon seeing Saku-chan returning to her life after he moved away 7 years ago seems to be thrilled but.. The first thing Mii-chan does was chased down Saku-chan, then jumped on top of him, riding him in the hallway while everyone stared at their stargazing club. More strangely, the club president often coughs blood as though he has chronic lung cancer and will die any moment. Somehow, they still need a 5th member within a time limit, otherwise their stargazing club will be disbanded.
Saku and Mihoshi seems to be rather cute and at the same time funny.. Not sure what to expect with this series as that it is a comedy of the season. Stargazing.. Reminds me of Stargazer, a mobile suit I unlocked the other day..
Really liked this first episode. Seems like a great mix of gag-comedy, light romance and slice of life. It's also hard not to love Mihoshi. She reminded me a little bit of a more normalized Haruhi, what with the wild mood swings and overreactions.
It was a fun anime with a Toradora! feel to it. I hope some more serious issues and problems develop. I have high hopes. Mihoshi reminds me of Nodame from Nodame Cantabile. The clingy type =D But a great character!
This is very promising imo, the only show that started of stronger are Bakemonogatari and Harhui, with haruhi going down the drain after wards, Hope it will keep it up, i don't mind if it generic, it's nice with a good sol show sometimes, im still trying to forget about K-on and Hyakko :(
Wow, I actually liked this a lot. The interaction between Saku and Mii-chan is really funny and the other characters seem interesting also. I cracked up a few times when the President spewed blood...
Really promising show this.

OrangeJuice said: First thoughts, when I read about the synopsis BORING. But after watching the first episode wow! I'm Hook! Mii-chan getting jealous was cute.
Definetly can't wait for the next episode.
yeah pretty much so, I had my doubts when reading the synopsis, but I'm glad I did actually watch the first episode : 3
Protip: I don't really check the forums anymore, so if you want something, take it on my profile.
Is it time for my long-awaited return to the forums? щ(゚Д゚щ) Nope™, probably not.
At first it seemed liked "sumomo momomo" because of the girl love/boy hates-attitude, but later it got clear that this series got some emotions, too!
I think the mother was quite funny in the beginning and of course, Mihoshi is cute and funny, better than sumomo ;-)
Liked this episode^^
The first thing I noticed with this anime is that (IMO) the OP song sounds just like any other anime OP I've ever heard, too generic. Besides that, it seems interesting. I've never seen an anime involving an astronomy club so I'm going to try to give this one a chance. I'll at least watch 4 or 5 episodes before I pass any judgement.
Good first episode however I don't like the direction it seems to be heading. Seems almost like a harem as of right now, 1 male character surrounded by mostly girls is sort of =/... Anyways just hope it doesn't turn in to some shallow harem with no progression or plot to speak of.
LOL.. that's some funny episode.
I'm liking the story.. simple but good. and the characters are awesome. XD
This anime heals my heart.. just what I needed. (T^T)/
This show turned out to be a lot more charming than I expected, and the first half of the episode where Saku was actively trying to avoid Mihoshi actually came as a pleasant surprise. I didn't like how easy it was to get Saku into the club, but the run-in with student pres kinda shows he joined out of pity. Not sure how to feel about him helping out so eagerly toward the end but overall the episode felt pretty refreshing.
This show couldn't look more generic. Right from the art, character designs, music and OP/ED, to the usual club premise. But it was a fun episode nonetheless, even managed to make me tear up a bit.
These two also remind me of Carl and Ellie from Up.
I also like that we have a couple right in the beginning, instead of having to wait till the final episode.
