- reads synopsis....... "lolwut"
- art isn't the greatest but has a flair to it
- the song in the beginning which I assume is going to be the OP = sounds nice
- this....... is supposed to be SoL?!?
- oh I see, slice of life indeed...
- damn rainbows and glitter everywhere rofl
- lol female MC got blown away a la Team Rocket style
- still dont understand wtf is going on
- Shigyo looks like she's gonna be on my favorite characters
- So it's like a cheesy action slice of life?
- ED isn't that great

... 50/50 on it so far, will try a few more episodes.

I feel like his show is trying to be like Kill la Kill, but fails at it pretty badly.
Considering how bad KLK was, i'd say that's a good sign.

When did you become such a heretic. You need immediate purging.

The action scenes are definitely KLK's style, it also reminds me a lot of FLCL. I have a feeling I'll keep watching this because it looks nice, the story has me completely loss.

I thought Trigger was behind this lol. All the girls are so damn cute and the art is amazing. Favorite scene was the eating one. Hopefully the whole setting will be explained, still don't know what this is actually supposed to be about.

Looking forward to this series!

That was cute and fun. Obviously very inspired by Kill La Kill, and Kyousougiga, but with a more slice of lifey flavor -- I dig it. It's not quite as good as either of those two were in their own opening episodes, but I dig it. There's lot's of potential here, so I'm defo looking forward to more.

I agree. Ma-chan reminds me of Ryuuko, which is really nice.
I enjoyed the first episode, cool animation and interesting plot.

Because the KLK scenes are far memorable and the animation style/designs were a lot more similar to KLK's style.

Anyways, I had absolutely no idea what was going on. The food part was hilarious though.

fking what?

Anyway, caught me off guard. Really entertaining to watch. People say Kill la Kill vibe. Sorta bc of the divided Japan but I felt more of a Yozakura Quartet vibe more than anything else.

Except couldn't of they just flipping called the "Best" Mosa and the "Rest" Mob like they are suppose to be. That shit always annoys me because it retarded to change a major term.

Can somebody help explain the politics of this episode? It was really hard to follow.

I probably should have watched this earlier in the day. While watching it at night I was expecting a nice slice of life to unwind with but ended up higher strung than before xD. But yeah, it was fast paced and even though I haven't read something I didn't realize while watching the episode I still feel like I understood just about none of the things they explained.

It looks like the show centers on the "rest" from the main characters list, so it will probably be fairly different than it is now by the end. I really liked this show... but at the same time I think I almost had a seizure or something multiple times during viewing. The colors are so bright which I usually like... but they are always bright. This was a bit hard on the eyes for me. I'm guessing if I watch it mid day from now on it will be fine though.

Directed by Kotomi Deai, never watched her previous directing works, nothing to say about her.

Tone of Sekai Seifuku + style similar to that of Kill La Kill.

Remember the old time when shows would help viewers to ease into the story and get familiar with the characters? Now fuck all that, as long as the animators are having fun who cares about the viewers' expectation and their comfort, it's all about having the most confusing premise, throwing as much shit on the screen, fill all the dialogues with technical terms that have not yet explained, characters that no one cares about, and action scenes that have no real tension and consequences.

A gigantic advertisement for local tourism. It's going to be either pretentious or mediocre, if they keep that spirit.

Thank you, that was my first impression rather than KLK. This felt like a crossover of Kyousougiga and Yozakura Quartet. But maybe that's because I highly enjoyed both of those anime :P Anyways, I thought this was really fun and interesting for the first episode, I'm liking the premise so far and let's see where this goes. Also, is that you Chiyo?

Looks very interesting so far! I enjoyed the first ep a lot.

Although I'm not sure why people keep saying that they don't understand it??? It's the first episode, it's not going to explain everything right away otherwise there'd be no point.

I'm not usually all for the whole gang archetype, but I like where it's going so far. What I found confusing was their objectives; what is it that they're fighting each other for? It had nice fight scenes, though.

Also, that noodle throwdown >

I liked it, it reminded me of Gatchaman Crowds, Sekai Seifuku: Bouryaku no Zvezda, Kill La Kill and a bit of Yozakura Quartet also.

Hope the series stays consistent, especially the art and animation.

I actually think that while this show will undoubtedly draw Kill la Kill comparisons, this show can do at least as well as it does.

Inevitably, people will not like it because it is too close to their precious series. So far, this has failed at nothing that Kill la Kill succeeded in. For now, seeing as there are other strong elements, this could potentially be less formulaic as long as the other "Bests" are strong. I assume they must be in order to control their areas.

I am now a big fan of this show. I'll be honest though. I can be fickle.

Oh man, I'm going to like this one. I knew when I saw the preview weeks ago that this would be one I would like. I got a KLK, Kyousogiga, and Zvezda vibe from this show. I really enjoyed it.

Such an interesting setting and the battles for territories is kind of interesting, I'm definitely looking forward to more.

Wit Studio is looking like they'll be studio I'm gonna like: first AoT, now this, and then Seraph of the End. Their animation style is really kickass too. AoT was fairly gritty, but they've done a good job with the all the bright and vibrant colors. Rolling Girls's animation style and character designs is like a clash of KyoAni and Trigger. I got that impression at least.

For people unclear on the story

- There was a great tokyo war
- When recovering from the war all the wealthy people and ruling class (assumption is government, tribal, heads of powerful households etc) disappeared essentially leaving people to themselves.
-10 new states were formed and they divided their territories using the guidelines of the old prefectures.
-However (and this is unexplained) they gained independence
- Each region started becoming nationalistic
- As a result of this conflicts with other regions began to arise
- The Twin Tower Declaration was created to solve conflicts. Essentially conflicts could be settled through negotiation but if they can't a representative of each vigilante group from the respective states would battle each other (a best) and the winner wins the conflict. It's likely there are states that do not follow the twin tower declaration given the wording.
- The fight we are seeing at the start is because apparently people who were once tokyo were forced to leave due to the expansion of a company named "Always Comina" (I am assuming this is a company) and want to reclaim the land through force.

Of course I may be mistaken on somethings, but I'm surprised so many people have no clue what's happening at all.
