highest I can download. so 1080/720p
if it's old pre 720p era, I don't bother and just stream.
also if it's a long show I won't download it.
I can't buy any anime where I live so I'm a pirate.

I just delete after I finish watching.

720p.

Recently, though, as streams + animations now have HD or superior quality I've gone with streaming since it saves comp space and it's really not all that different to me unless my internet just so happens to be out.

Depends purely on the show. I watch everything I can in 1080p first episode and if its got nice animation I will continue to do so. Otherwise I watch it in 720p.

Streaming in 1080p if available, if not then 720p. It's rare for me to download : don't want to wait.

Stream in 720p always, rarely do I ever download except before airplane rides then 720p downloads, my laptop can't show 1080p anyway (1366x768 on matte screen).

Why store anything? I don't watch the same episodes 5 times a month. I can just stream on crunchyroll or any streaming site.

720p HDTV-rip right after airing - then replace with the 1080p BD-rip when it's released.

Never download my anime, I just stream it on 480p because I'm usually watching from my phone. Not enough space to store these things..

why only resolution.. 8bit or 10bit color depth is important too..
a lot of german groups offers for some anime 10bit which looks really good (idk about english releases)

1080p for anime I care about and will rewatch, 720p for series I like enough to download but don't think need the full 1080p (often slice of life shows or ones with just okay animation quality)

I mean, there are other things to consider too like the typesetting and all that jazz, can make or break a series sometimes.

720p for most stuff unless I can't find it in 720p then I'll go with SD.
I don't download 1080p because the file sizes are ridiculous. Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (1080p) takes up 18gb on my HDD while the whole FMAB series only takes up 14gb.

I stream the highest quality available (720p on Funimation, 1080p/720p up-rezzed on Crunchyroll).

For archiving, BD rips/downloads, which are also 720p or 1080p but with a lot less compression. Those are usually anywhere from 10-30GBs after encoding.

I usually stick to 720p, looks fine and the upgrade to 1080p isn't really worth the filesize imo.

I usually never rewatch anything, so storing is out of the question, Ill just stream, sometimes I will torrent, but then remove them right after.

720 is the lowest I'll go for any anime (or anything else, for that matter). I might go to 1080 for movies and such (if available). My laptop storage is doing fine with 1 TB but I think I'll have to start buying and storing some series on separate USB sticks soon ...

Does not downloading take more out of quotas?

I download 720p.
Although I do watching long-running anime on streams, just so I don't have to spend 100GB on one anime.

1080p is nice, but it takes too much time to download and it uses up much more MB/GB.

480p is also nice for people who don't have that much GB on their computers/laptops, but I don't use 480p because the quality is too low for me, but it is nice because it doesn't take up much space at all.

720p is just the best for me, it doesn't take up all that much space, and it's quality is very good.

I have 1TB external hard drive I keep all my favourites in there and try and get 1080p if I can as I use my TV as a screen and link my laptop up through that, the TV is large (50" so you can actually tell the difference usually between 720p to 1080p)

I also store all my manga there too!

Most of the time though I will stream first to see if I can get an idea of if I'm going to like the show! And kissanime has the 720p option anyway so...

If there are blu-rays available I always download them if possible in 1080p quality of course since it's the exact size of my monitor display.
If it's not blue-ray, 720p, but I won't watch it full screen.
And I can't say I store them for long, because I delete everything after I watch it.

Not sure why anyone would look for 1080p for anything other than like movies and some remasters, most 1080p is just upscales so its extra space for nothing.

Usually go with 720p. If I couldn't care less about the series, or it's become less of priority to watch, I need to get caught up, I go 480p.

Lol, 1080p definitely isn't "rare" at all though?

I'm usually already contented with 720p quality

I used to stream but not anymore bc I now want to have a copy of the anime that I'm watching/gonna watch
I have two sides. Choose wisely.
