| I have NO idea what i watched. I am 100% serious. I am not sure if the anime tried to be funny, sarcastic, serious, random or just a mix. I just don't get it. Episode 1 to 8 were very unique. I admired the show because the idea of a normal boy trying to become a super hero with no power in the real world was cool and unique. At least I haven't seen anything similar. Then... I have no idea. After the gorilla incident I was 100% sure that 1)I'ts a dream 2) It's a move 3) He is high on drugs. I expected that they will reveal which of those is true ep after ep after ep. Yet it never happened. At some point near the final episodes Hazama was sleeping and slowing opened up hes eyes. And i was like "Cool they explain everything is a dream now". But nope. Overeall I have no idea what i watched and what the show wanted to accomplish :/ |

| Well, I surprisingly liked that finale a lot. It definitely bumped my rating up a notch. And damn, the entire scene from the moment Masayoshi stripped was extremely unique and awkward as hell. That scene alone made this episode by far one of the most interesting final episodes I've ever seen. I have to say that my expectations for my rating of this series have fluctuated insanely since it started. To begin with I hated the series... episode 1 was really interesting but after that it was incredibly boring. But I might be one of the few who went from hating it to loving it at after the Guillotine Gorilla scene. But after King Torture I went straight back to hating it. It had lots of potential but this series just didn't do it for me. Watching this episode, the entire time I was pleasantly surprised and decided my rating would go up two from this... but gotta say the last 5 seconds kinda killed my pleasure. Goto going right back to his crazed obsession, while probably realistic, really ticked me off. I still loved the episode, but everything seemed wasted with Goto just returning to his habit and them jollily playing it off like some running gag. Although, Masayoshi going after that litterer was pretty funny. Either way... the last 5 seconds brought my +2 down to a +1, so 6/10. tittycakesXD said: Ha, yep. | To be honest I have no idea how to rate this. The levels of cognitive dissonance that went into watching this was mind-boggling since it ravaged just about every law of good writing like nothing. That said I always had a wide grin whenever this show would do any of it's trademark outlandish nonsense. I have to write about this anime one day and get my thoughts on it straight. |

| I loved the first half of the series but it went downhill. I gotta admit it's unique but the development is confusing and doesn't make sense at all. Well i loved the dark and psychological side of this series so i guess that makes up for the lack of proper story. The ending was not so bad, got used to this series jumping all over the places. Goto's feels are so fucking sad. I cried a lot on his account until masayoshi went naked and proposed. Wtf. I mean it has been reeking bl shits since the first episode but i didn't expect an all out revelation. And his proposal was so half hearted, well his character is pretty dumb so i guess that was the best he could do but still... i've wasted my time watching the second half of the series. |

I think your assessment sums up this series for the average viewer. - The first half...including the finale of Torcher was actually great (even with the Gorilla). However, the rest was a jumbled mess that couldn't decide on its tone, comedy, drama and used ineffective plot twists to try and keep us coming back week after week. Goto's story was so sad...but then ultimately, both he and Masayoshi were idiots (they were right to call each other bakas) The final arc was slightly better, however, so many huge plot holes, character stupidity and lack of development and tone turned it to crap. I only think what this show could have been. |

| there were only 2 things that kept me from enjoying this series.. the yaoi and yuri elements in it... but then it was fine 5/10 |

| I have to say I'm not a big fan of Boy's Love..(maybe it's because I'm a guy). I guess the ending was alright. The whole series was just plain weird. Eh, I'm too is a Goto X Mari fan. I thought she would made Goto snap out of it and comfort him. Than they get together at the end. 7.5/10 overall I guess. |

| Well I am still super confused on how I feel about this anime after finishing it, but I think I will give it 8 wtf's out of ten to end. | This series was a hot mess, a respectable one at least. Overall I really enjoyed it, although inconsistently. The show spread itself too thin imo, never really explored one particular thing deep enough but in a way I respect if for trying so many different things. This ending in particular was kinda meh for me, I'm glad we get more time on Goto's character but nothing really comes of it. Sure we learn about his obsession with his former girlfriend but the antagonist used to bring it about wasn't all that interesting to me. I never felt there were any stakes so any fear of him attacking anyone was rather pointless, I knew Masayoshi wouldn't kill himself or do anything rash and out of character that would stop this kid. Also the reveal that he's really alive but somehow can teleport anywhere and basically be invisible seems to go unchecked. The finale scene is a real anime kinda ending, perhaps this sort of oddity is more prevalent in Japanese culture, I don't know. But from my pov again I respected some of what is being said and the whole naked love he was expressing however odd it may be fits his character. I just don't know if it's the best ending possible, but at the same time I don't know if any ending really is for this show. The last scene in particular was pretty underwhelming, kinda business as usual, all things back to normal kinda feel. Which I expect but Goto seems unchanged by these events even when his phone basically told him to move on, which I can only assume was some sort of actual contact from his deceased girlfriend beyond the grave. Unless of course the twist is that she really is in Nicaragua. The phone message literally says "Thanks for stopping Go-chin, I'm going an adventure now" which either one Gotou just typed that up real quick which now that I think about it is the more plausible answer but at the same time I want to believe that her ghost messaged him telling him to move on. Just thinking about the fact that it wasn't her actual ghost sending that final message actually makes it even worse, I kinda wish I persisted in my own delusions now like Gotou. How does he text himself anyways with only his phone? I don't text so I really have no idea, perhaps you can just enter your own number when messaging someone? We see him in the flashback using two phones but we never see him using both in the present or in the final episode in particular which is probably why I jumped to the ghost finally moving on to the afterlife idea. I give the show a 7/10, enjoyable for sure and I'm glad I watched it but too inconsistent entertainment wise for me. Art and animation could of been much better to accommodate how bizarre this show was, needed a bit more style. Plot while all over the place was fun but not amazing, characters were interesting but not great. Overall I'm glad I watched and I'm glad it exists but I wish it could of been just a bit more polished so that I could love it. |

OMG Marriage Proposal?! xD lol the blushing, while heiji is just standing there awkwardly they are such a cute couple, is 'baka' the only bad word they know?? goto finally accepted the death of his gf...or not... (he should get together with masayoshi lol) its over~ it was an interesting rollercoaster ride of a show~ after accepting the fact that the show was more supernatural and superhero-y, i really enjoyed it. awesome last episode~ (lol i was kinda hoping for a marriage though) |

| Now that was a funny last episode XD I bet the producers were drinking before thinking up what would happen in this episode. I was probably the first time happy Maya appeared (was that her hiding when Masayoshi was about to save Gotou?). It was funny though to hear her saying "it was useless for you to try and get between these two" or something when she is the one who supposedly likes/liked Gotou. And why did she bring the mask of her outfit to the concert? :O But at the very end, did Gotou mean that his (former?) girlfriend actually sends him mails after all? That was confusing... Now that I've read some replies here... Um, wasn't Masayoshi just struggling to make everyone calm down (remember how he said "bakabakabaka" XD)? I wouldn't say "he has turned gay" or anything... He could be regardless this episode, though... I mean, he said he has never fallen in love before, there was a scene where a girl confessed to him while he seemed to feel nothing and confused and most of all combined with all that: heteronormativity. | So I'm guessing most of those who hated this show either stopped watching or stopped commenting, I was really surprised at how many people liked this ending. I personally liked the series up until episode 6, then it went rolling down a steep hill and fell of a cliff and crashed in a pit and bursted in flames and eventually became ashes that integrated into the soil, rock, and earth, never to be seen again. I'm not here to argue, just stating my opinion that this was one of worst I've seen in a while. On second thought, maybe everybody here was joking around, and it was so bad that the inside joke was to say how funny and great it was shipping Goto & Masayoshi and that kid thought of Flamenco and got all flushed and saw him naked and got all gay and dropped his gun. If that's the case, my bad for ruining it. I'm just really tired I've been running on minimal sleep for weeks but still this was terribad. |

| Pretty nice way to finish off this series, I thought it would've ended in a cliffhanger or something but this sure rounded the whole story properly off! When I started it I really liked the concept of a normal person trying to be a super hero but when the freaky supernatural monsters came along I rather disliked it but well in the end it did manage to entertain me with some really nice story and character development! All in all a pretty good anime I must say! |

| To be honest I decided to give this show a chance just because it has the same producer as Ergo Proxy and Samurai Champloo. While not as good as the anime I mentioned, its still a one of a kind show. I thought the story will be like the first few episodes doing simple hero stuff for the whole show but when they start inserting King Torture I was hyped. And then the Flamengers arc came, I was like "What the hell are they doing?". Just when everything is apparently falling apart, his next villain is a messed up kid who has an insane complex with our hero. I got to admit that was a shocker seeing someone from the early episodes turning evil, it was a genius plot twist, but how the heck did he manage to do all the stuff he did? Its almost impossible. Moreover, I don't mind a little yuri action with our flamen girls but naked Hazama's marraige proposal to Goto!!! Yaoi!!! Plus who the heck is Goto's girlfriend anyway? Even so I still liked the series for what it is being a hero in your own little way. If there is anything I learned while watching this is to be a law abiding citizen. |

Never change. 9/10 - from 8 to 6 to 8, then (with that ending) upped to a 9. It's been a hell of a ride. Edit: Right. This show is brilliant, you just have to accept it and listen to what it has to tell you. It's not everyday we get a show that is so smart and mature as Samurai Flamenco. |

| Ah damn, I was hoping to see a GotouxMari ending lol. Damn, I can not get enough of Ishihara, she is just too cute. XD It would be nice to get a 2nd season and find out what happened to Gotou's missing girlfriend and find out who killed Hazama's parents....that would be nice but at the same time I don't think this anime will get a 2nd season. I gave it a 8/10. |
| WOW…so many twists…the story keep trolling us with twists until the very end..lol. It was pretty funny though. Though the anime was a little weird, but that's probably why we like it so much cause it's unique and different. The anime itself is a entertainment for us. SO FUN TO WATCH! :D |
