| I'd say I don't judge by this source very often, but some avatars combined with their posts really help me on creating a mental image of the user. | its ok, i kinda act like a guy. not really. hehe. its not like i usually examine avatars and pass down judgement, its just that yesterday i saw one and it immediately struck me as.... ugh thats when i thought up this totally awesome (please read as sarcasm) thread. i do look at avatars and associate them with members, but theres no... disgust or anything i often feel like a total douche in Rec forum because i'm so happy to say "Watch Berserk!!" and then i imagine the user looks at my rec, looks at my avatar, and says to themselves "duh, shut the fuck up" lol |

| I don't judge, in fact I like seeing what people put as their avatars, it makes reading posts more pleasant because you have pics to look at when you scroll, some interesting, some aesthetically pleasing and others well. I've always picked my avatar based on my hobbies/interests, but I'm always subtle about it, so most people that see it probably don't have a clue what it is. But for those die-hard fans who do notice, I hope to elicit a little smile. :> |

| I think of the avatar like the persons looks like a digital character in a virtual reality online game, this is the persona you create and the one people know you as regardless of who you are in the real world. You get to know their online persona/personality so when I think of a user I see their avi. Generally I find every avatar has an insight to who that person is, maybe their attitude. I will approach a person differently depending on their avatar I suppose. I'm sorta curious how people judge me based on my avatar now. |
