My favorite anime is back :'D
So good. Bummed they skipped all of those chapters, but this series needs to pick it up on the attention list. This show needs to attract more viewers.
They skipped a part of the manga which is a shame i was looking forward to see some of those girls being captured in animation.
What was worse is that it went immediately to Kanon who is one of the few girls in Kami no Sekai that i dislike, shamefully she happens to be one of the favourite girls of the author.
Guess we have to live with it.
The biggest shame however is that we didn't get to see Haqua's lifestyle and her funny abstract partner.
And above all we don't get to see that scene!! (All Haqua fanes that read the manga should know which scene i mean)
kami no mizo shiru sekai megami arc without doubt it's one of the best arc in manga, in mangafox they even beat 3 top manga with initial N,B,F for a few month in rank 1.
without doubt it's 10/10 master piece
but too badddd kinda sad the other girl not exposed :( hopes they make ova for each girl just like tenri :( , even thou seems impossible to do that now :v
even thou i said that :3 i'll still watching till the end, since chihiro here will be so amazing :3
AWWW YEAHHH MORE ANIMATED TWGOK
I don't want to bitchin about that timeskip, hell season 3 is rare as fuck you know ???
and the OP song was GREAT *eargasm*
Lune taking Fiore's spot, not being introduced as crazy bitch that stabs her own hand with a box cutter.
The quick recap actually worked even though I was crying throughout it because they skipped all those wonderful arcs. I guess for those who don't read the manga it is a bit more confusing. The episode really picked up when it began focusing on Kanon and how she remembers.
I'm sorry, did I somehow miss an ENTIRE SEASON?!!? I guess they wanted to get to the good stuff, but skipping that many girls isn't fair, especially if some of them are important to the current plot! I was really looking forward to shogi girl, too...I guess I have to read the manga now.
That being said, this arc seems promising. No way am I dropping this after loving the first two seasons so much!
Pretty good start I like how the focus is not for him to make girls fall in love with him but, to focus on the girls that already fell in love with him
Is it just me (To all manga readers)
Or do you really like Lune now? I'm incredibly hyped for the amount of screen time she might get. Ahahaha it's amazing. She seems like an exciting character.
It's fine skipping a few girls. It's all a standard affair anyway (they have a loose soul, Keima solves their problem, they kiss blah blah). It follows the same formula as the other characters. And when it's time for those characters' goddess to show up they'll will most likely expand a little more on them anyway.
They did it much better than I first expected but it was probably because that said expectation was near zero.
For those that are interested on Yui Goidō (The girl that Keima swaped body with) and Tsukiyo Kujyō (The girl obsessed about beauty who grew as small as a doll) but do not feel like reading the manga, here's a small summary taken from the Kaminomi Wiki for their arc.
It's somehow an important part to read because these are two key character this season.
Yui Goidō - Gender Bender Arc
Yui is first introduced the day after Diana tells Keima about her sisters and asks him for their search. Yui was thinking of music when she was walking down the stairs and because of her kimono she stumbled into Keima.
After that her mother starts protecting Yui because she believes that Keima "attacked" her. The reason her mother was in the school was because she wanted to take Yui away from the Wind Instrument Music Club. When Yui and her mother were leaving, Elsie appeared and she informed Keima that Yui also had an escaped spirit inside of her.
Later that night Yui was angry and sad because her mother forced her to quit the Wind Instrument Music Club.
The next day Yui went to the Wind Instrument Music Club to see it for one last time. She fell into Keima's trap by stepping on a ball and stumbled into Keima again. Keima tries to make a move but it went too fast and confusing for Yui. Just when he was going to correct himself, Yui's mother attacked Keima again. Despite that, Yui started thinking that Keima was a polite boy.
That night, Yui had an headache while she was thinking of her encounters with Keima and wanting to meet him again. Suddenly Yui lost consciousness and when she woke up she found herself, instead of being in her house, in Keima's house. When she found out she was in Keima's body, she got quite scared and started making Keima look very feminine.
That night was one of the worst in Yui's life. She was so embarrassed being in a boy's body that she did not take a bath. The next day when she met Keima again, she was escorted by him to the men bathroom. Desperately, she confided to Keima that she wanted to return to her body, but got reassured by Keima it was the best idea to live out each other's life until they found out a way for return to their original bodies.
Due to Yui thinking Keima was a model student respected by everyone in his classroom, she angered Nikaidō-sensei by voluntarily answering questions during class.
Nikaidō sensei thought it was some new way Keima was trying to harass her. At Keima's home, Yui shocked Mari by praising her cooking. Everyone was puzzled because they could not understand how Keima became so polite.
Some, like Kodama-sensei, even thought it was a trap set by Keima. After a few days, Yui was not so desperate to return to her body.
One day while she was thinking about her mother, Yui was outside of Chihiro's band room. Upon hearing the girls play music, Yuima entered the room and asked the girls if she could stay and listen. While the girls wondered what Yui was planning by coming to their practice, Yui started thinking how she has loved music since she was a little girl and how her mother deprived of her most beloved thing, the drum.
Her joy for being able to freely listen to music was reflected on Keima's face. Disgusted by the expression Yui displayed, and suspicious of her intentions, Ayumi and Chihiro hit Yuima. Noticing that there was no drum in the band, Yuima asked if she could be the drummer. Yuima went to the Wind Instrument Music Club and got a drum set.
Ayumi and Chihiro argued over who should chase Yuima out of the club, as each not wanting to be the one. Yui demonstrated her drumming abilities to the girls, leaving them astounded. After a short practice session with the drums, Miyako praised Yui for her drumming, while Ayumi and Chihiro reluctantly allowed Yui practice with them again. Yui continued practice with the other girls letting them think that Keima changed for the good.
Many days later, Yui went to her original classroom and found Keima there talking with Elsie. She tried to tell Keima how great a time she has been having the last few days. As she got closer to Keima, he felt uncomfortable and in a feminine way told her to stop touching him and fled.
Later Elsie took Yui to the infirmary to see Keima who seems to be sick. Yui wanted to call a doctor but Keima told her to not do that. While she was holding Keima she thought he was really turning into a girl. Yui's mother brought Keima back to Yui's home to rest.
Two days later, Yui was worried because Keima was not going to school. She decided to visit Keima in her own home, but was kicked out. That night, Yui thought about how good a time she has in Keima's body. However she felt that it was not fair to Keima, to have to live in her home which she deemed unpleasant.
The next day, she tried to visit Keima again, but her mother prevented her from seeing him. At school, she was invited to practice with the band again. While practicing, a paper plane made of a piece of her kimono with a note on it was sent to her from Keima using Elsie's magic. The note states that Keima wants to meet her.
Yui being sure about her feelings, sneaks into to her house at night to see Keima again. When they finally meet, Yui was confronted by her mother again. This time, she was able to stand up to her mother. She kissed Keima, causing the hole in her heart to close and make the spirit leave her body. With the spirit gone, Yui and Keima return to their respective bodies.
The next day while Keima was being beaten up by Chihiro and Ayumi, Yui appeared with a new look: her hair tied up in a long tail, and dressed in a boy's uniform. She asked the girls to allow her enter the band. Mistaking her for a boy and not wanting another boy to join the band after their bad experience with Keima, they refused. After she convinced them that she was a girl, they accepted her into the band.
Yui continue appearing later practicing music with the band and helping Elsie get over her depression after Hinoki arc.
Tsukiyo Kujyō - Moon Child Arc
On their first encounter, Keima was standing on her carpet and Tsukiyo slapped Keima and sent him flying. After that, Keima told her how the way that she smacked him was necessary and shows his favorite character from his PFP, Yokkyun. Tsukiyo disrespected Yokkyun and said to him that it was just a doodling.
Elsie was searching for Keima, but he was left speechless because of what Tsukiyo said about Yokkyun. After that, Elsie sees Keima, and her sensor goes off where Tsukiyo is the new holder of a spirit. Later, Elsie told Keima that Tsukiyo is the next holder of the spirit, but Keima refuses to free her from it. Keima wants to curse her after what she said about Yokkyun. Later, Tsukiyo had been looking to the moon, but the spirit activated and she shrunk to the size of Luna.
The next days were coming and Elsie was reading the school new paper and sees that Tsukiyo has been missing since yesterday after the guard from school had seen only carpet, tea and her telescope. Elsie had been thinking that the curse was too strong, but Keima denies that and told Elsie that she must use her sensor to locate the missing Tsukiyo.
After that, the sensor activated in the Astronomy Club; Keima told Elsie that she must make a replica of the key to get in. Keima then sees that Tsukiyo had been shrunken and became shocked after what he's seeing by her. Keima then changed his mind and offers to help Tsukiyo, but Tsukiyo does not want it if Keima is the one who helps her. Keima saw that Tsukiyo got injured when trying to reach the Astronomy Club. Keima stands for it to help Tsukiyo before she hurts herself more.
Keima needs Elsie's help for the quest to reach the event. Elsie created a very beautiful house where Tsukiyo stays in and she gave Keima a compliment even with his sense of art. After Tsukiyo had been taking a milk bath, she starts shrinking even more and soon became smaller than her doll, Luna. After seeing that Luna was looking at her, Tsukiyo gets scared and yells for Keima's help. After that Keima appeared, she wants to sleep and after hearing that Keima 'sees the ending,' she becomes mad. She escaped throughout the craft and were coming in one big adventure. Keima told Elsie that she must help during the search for her.
Later, after Keima finds her at the top of the roof, he held her down and telling her not to jump. After that, she fell down expediently; Keima chased after her where Elsie realized that Keima and Tsukiyo were having troubles. She used her hagoromo to rescue them.
After the conquest, Elsie almost forgot to capture the runaway spirit and tells Keima that she has seen it in a shape of a frog.
After seeing that Tsukiyo removed her carpet, Elsie told Keima smirkingly that he could also have the guts to not play games anymore. While Keima denies this, Tsukiyo points her telescope towards Keima.
I do not recommend checking the wiki pages themselves because there're some major spoiler on it. I simply secluded the information about the arcs which are a prequel to this season.
Read everything else up until now (Chapters 42-55, 66-113)
This series does flashbacks from all of the above, specifically focusing on the conquests between 42-55 and 66-113. It is successful in its adaption I feel, but you will understand so much more by reading those.
Thanks! I'll read those chapters before I watch the Goddess Arc
I'm really excited for the 3rd season, but really sad they summarized Yui's arc. That's one of my favorites! I hope there's an OVA for the one's they condensed at the beginning.
Two thoughts on this issue:
On one hand, I find it interesting that many non-manga readers (from what I have seen in different forums) actually understand the story, or at least have a grasp of what's going on, despite the time skipping.
On the other hand, The Goddess Arc seemed like an indirect, albeit a quite clever, commercial to the manga itself, as those who were confused on the story, or those who would like to know what they're missing, would be forced to read the manga.
I like the episode it feels somehow new and refresh with this Goddess arc. The only thing I want to know is: In what points does the manga make the other girls arcs? I am curious how all this incidents happened to Keima. Hoping to be a great season of KamiNomi. Well just that and thanks.

Between the end of the OVA and the start of the season 3.
The OVA finish at chapter 64, season 3 starts at chapter 114.
If you want to read the parts that they didn't cover then you should read chapters 65-113.

This is unlikely.
The most probable reason is that there were too many conquest to continue at the pace the show was going.
Season 1 covered 4 conquests, season 2 covered 3 conquests. It is easy to see that at this pace it would take two others seasons before actually reaching the goddesses arc.
This is a bet that Manglobe cannot afford to makes. As the next season highly depends on the sale of the precedent season, the current season seems like a very reasonable way of handling it.
If they had continued to animate the manga so perfectly, there would have lot of fan that would be rebutted by the constant pattern of 'capturing girls + the story not going anywhere'. Therefore the best way to approach this was to actually head straight to the core of the plot, aka the goddesses arc.
The problem is how the time skip would be handled and I give props to Manglobe for that. Not only did they managed to seclude the important plot points of the arcs they skipped, they did so in an entertaining and clear manners. Deen should take example on how to do a recap of past events
Well it's finally back after the long wait but Geez as a non manga reader that start was a clusterfuck of confusion lol thank fully people have done a small guide on what to read might as well read em between each week.
The 1st episode is done.
Now lets stop talking about skipping arcs and the pacing and enjoy the show. :D
(BUT THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE HAQUA AND DIANA SCENE AT THE THEME PARK ;-;)

They should have animated all the godess candidates before going onto this arc. I feel sorry for anyone who hasn't read the manga. Other than the flashback being rushed and so obvious, the rest of the episode was really good.
The World God Only Knows is back, yeahhhh!! I kinda feel sorry for the non-manga readers although they did a recap of the girl conquests that were not animated between season 2 ending and season 3 beginning. Although season 3 even says the 'Goddesses Arc' for a reason.
This first episode was fantastic! Kanon going to Keima for help and even confessing to him and was done perfectly. Apollo is such a reckless and naive goddess. That scene with Apollo getting stabbed was pretty brutal. Oh how I missed Keima playing games in class. So glad we'll see more of Haqua and Diana this season. :)
5/5
Why didn't the animators get through Yui and Tsukiyo first instead of summarizing their arcs? D'8 (please ignore this fangirl)
Oh well, at least the goddess arc is animated really well. And since the final moment of the arc is one of the best scenes as well, I can't wait for it to be animated~
But wait, I thought that in the manga Fiore was the one who stabbed Apollo. :/
I'm so happy they skipped to the goddess arc. I read all the other girls conquests way back but stopped before this arc, so this is fucking perfect for me :D. 5/5.
Finally~ Been waiting for long :D
OP was nice... haven't gotten into it too much yet though.
As expected, they used a flashback and rushed it... but otherwise, it was well animated. Still can't get over the fact that they changed Fiore to Lune though... I won't be able to see those "other" scenes anymore D:
BUT. The biggest problem here probably is...
(Major spoiler. Somewhat.)
They almost gave it all away in the OP... It was part of the fun...
I had a feeling they were going to skip a lot of content...it hurts to see it actually happen (I really liked some of those arcs). Despite that, I'm sure it would have started to feel a bit repetitive for some people. The goddess arc is definitely one of the best and is seemingly where the "real" story starts.
