I don't play visual novels that often, but some of them are quite interesting.

Fighting games follow closely. It's all about SC, SSB, SF, and MK for me.

I honestly don't mean to pick on you, but you realize that statement is hilarious? Fighting game fans consider MK one of the most hilariously awful series in the history of video games. A complete trainwreck. It's dreadful on every level except for what it made it famous; fatalities. Putting it right after SF would be like putting someone who has never touch a basketball in their life is on the same athletic and skill level as LeBron James in basketball.

Soul Edge was a great game, Soul Calibur has a very poor reputation nowadays (thanks to both SC3 and SC4 sucking), as does SSB. But compared to MK, they're masterpieces.

I realize MK doesn't have much depth, but personally, I enjoy the series. Thanks to the fatalities of course. I'm only using these games as examples for why fighting games are my second favorite genre. My post did not say "fighting games are the best due to these series". And the games weren't in any specific order of how good they are.:P

Games that require heavy thinking and have really good characters. Wait, that's not a genre.

1. Visual Novel
1. Strategy
1. RPG
4. Puzzle
5. Platformer

...And that's pretty much all that I play.

Platformers are me favorite, they are just simple and enjoyable. With the new Little Big Planet, creation of levels makes a great platformer.

I do also enjoy shooters and action adventures though.

RPGs are my favorite~ I like their stories and they usually have addicting gameplay. But I love shooting and racing games, even if I don't play them as often.

My favorite are
1. fighter
2.action/adventure
3.party
4.shooter

my reasons
1. fighter because it is so fun to fight your friends especially if you play the game all the time and can totally destroy them (Dead or Alive)
2. I like action adventure games that involve an acrobatic element (tomb raider, and mirrors edge)
3. if you find some real good ones their super fun to play with family, and friends (SuperMonkey Ball)
4.i'm not a big fan of shooters unless there is a certain free roam element that allows you to hide from enemies in not only single player but multiplayer mode as well(Halo 3)
there's a mouse in box 1 and cheese in box 3...

Survival Horror totally deserves its own poll selection here. So I choose that.

I guess out of the poll I'd have to choose Action/Adventure simply for Okami, with FPS second for games like TimeSplitters, Unreal Tournament and Bioshock.

I don't play fighters apart from Soul Calibur with friends, I hate sports games and the only racers I really like are Burnout and Wipeout.

Even though the once invincible Japanese RPG industry has greatly degenerated, RPG's are still the games I'm looking forward too for versitility, interactivity, story and length

Shooters, Music, Action/Adventure, and Platform (Cavestory RULES!)
5. MMOs, mainly because it's the only way to muck around with alot of my friends.

Competitive online gaming rules internet servers worldwide, other than that, offline action still comes on top.

PS:Rockband on the psp is horrible due to a lack of good songs other than Bon Jovi:Living on a Prayer and SOAD:Chop Suey, dont get it...

For me its a tie for 1&2 between RPG and Shooter
if i want to play online or with people and compete and be social Shooter
however if i feel anti social and just want to play a game alone RPG all the way
1&2) Shooter & RPG
3) would be strategy
4)... it gets harder to pick but i guess adventure/action
5)and the Platformer

the rest i don't really care about anymore even though i used to love fighters, sports and racing games, but now the gameplay doesn't cut its just the same thing as 10 years ago with better graphics...

First Sig built from scratch 2nd overall^^^
