| Negima! volume 6, and I had never even heard of it before. I didn't know at the time that manga was a whole series and not simply different stories in each volume...that, and the cover looked cool. But it's what got me interested in anime, so I'm glad for that. |

| I'm not as much a manga reader as a addict to anime, but i do remember the first manga volume i ever bought. Inuyasha Volume 1. That was years ago... like back in 2003. |

| Lament of the Lamb, translated for the domestic market. I have no idea was it translated from the original or from some other translation. I bought volumes 2-7 because vol. 1 was sold out. I was toying with the notion of postponing the reading until I acquire vol. 1, but I figured that could be never, and in the end it was not a problem to follow the story. I finally found vol. 1 a couple of months ago, so it's a complete set now. Of course, this lucky purchase came with the news that the publishing of new manga was ending due to lack of profit for the publisher. Unlike the fact that there was actual translated manga on the market, that came as no surprise. Small countries and so on. Though I did recently see the first volume of Death Note, and to my amazement, it was cheaper - nearly two thirds cheaper - than the English translation sitting a shelf away. Usually it's the other way around. |
