At some point of the battle with pulled-from-ass final enemy mecha I thought I was watching a Godzilla movie. Unexpectedly, a mess, rushed (49 episodes, sic!) finale. It lefts me with no choice but to lower my overall personal rating to 5/10. Very much a forgettable series which could have been much better. Also, please, no more anime in this universe, m'kay, Sunrise?

lol youtube fails again the english subs wont load... i ended up watching the korean version and i agree it was a rushed ending the battle scenes is not that exciting but overall i enjoyed this series so 8/10 for me

so the youtube english version works for me now... Yurin told Flit to forgive himself... ah i guess that is the answer for hatred and that is to learn how to let go... and darn i thought the AGE Builder is already gone but looks like they got some of it still since they send a new bazooka for Kio on the final battle

to anyone that hates Gundam AGE just learn to Forgive this series just like what Grandpa Flit learned lol

So bad.... The whole series was just so bad.... Normally I'm not one to bitch on a anime and I don't even have that high of a standard like some "elitist" but the end was so bad.

The fight scene was not even that exciting. The final enemy was pretty much ezelcant so I can understand that but Sid was really just there for the sake of being there so that it can be defeated imo.

At least Asemu finally came back and Flit met Yuri again can finally forgive. Flit is easily one of my favourite character in the series as I can understand how much hate he felt because the vagan killed someone he loved. It was nice seeing Woolf and the Captain (forgot his name) again. And it was kinda emotional seeing his mother again after such a long time.

The afterworld dialogue where flit was explaining what had happened wasn't that good for me as I was hoping to see some scene from what he said. Even though the ED scene showed the Asuno family potrait and the Age 1 being showed in the museum and Flit's statue being erected to commemorate with Asemu and Kio being old saying that the statue was nice. It still didn't felt enough for me as I was expecting more scenes from after the war.

Overall 5/10
Please Sunrise, don't make another gundam series like this again.

Having watched the entire season, I ain't too impressed with this series. Personally, this entire series feels more like a museum for the original Gundam, if they have even made complete reference to it.

The last few episodes seem way too rushed in my opinion. I wish they could have done more, like at least keeping some of the side characters around. To be honest, if this were a kid's show, it failed since they made so many KIAs to make kids happy like they had watched in fairy tales.

I'm probably just ranting here, but aside from Gundam 00 & Gundam SEED series, this AGE series isn't appealing to me.

That was beautiful. I cried when Flit was with Yurin and the rest of the people that died and he had a change of heart. He finally became a savior along with Kio. T_T

8/10 would have been a 9/10 if it were not for the Fairdain arc.

I'm depressed first Sket Dance, then Kuroko, now this my weeks are going to be empty without them. T_T

Well time to finish Wing I guess. I hope The Origin will be an OVA and we will get a new universe and characters for a TV series instead. Cause I don't want to sit through 43 weeks/episodes of QUALITY pacing and art like I did the first time around. xP

One of the worst Gundam endings I've ever seen. 2/10.

LOL @ Flit for real. I love how he released all of his anger on the Vegans in a matter of minutes after tripping; seeing Yurin and the others.

Overall the series's negatives outweighs its positives. And therefore I give this series 4/10. Interesting concept Bandai came up with but poorly executed. No more of this type of shit Bandai. No more.

Nah, Bandai should make a super-robot themed Gundam like G-Gundam but not similar. I'm getting tired of the real robot themes.

I haven't watched the episode yet, subs are not out yet, and the youtube page is cr*p, but judging from the comments above it seems I was right all along, that AGE is the most piss poor Gundam effort yet.but still I'm watching it, but perhaps if I were to rate this even before watching the final episode I'd give it 4/10. I'll post my overall thoughts on this show once I've finished watching the subbed versions

i kinda like AGE
i try to keep a open mind towards it. yeah it has flaws but some parts are good
i would like to say im glad they didn't based the enemy off the Titans from Zeta again like 00's A-Laws and Seeds logos/phantom pain

really like some of the mobile suits like the AGE-1 Glanza AGE-2 DB, AGE-2 Dark Hound, AGE-3 Fortress, AGE-3 Orbital, G-Bouncer, and alot of the EF mass produced MS.
also least AGE doesn't have like over 15 Gundams like Seed/Destiny and 00

Well I'd say the mecha design of Seed was much better due to the brilliant color scheme (not realistic since they suck at camouflage). As for Age, the mecha design was rather bland. Original? Maybe. But still very bland.

Final episode didn't impress me at all, maybe it's because many enemy like Zenald, Zeheart and Fram were already dead, and Zera that merged with Shido didn't look strong enough to be final boss.

I was going to wait for the sub group to bring this episode out in HD quality but I figured it would be a craptastic episode anyway so I streamed it in god awful 360p. And it was indeed craptastic; the ending was so terribly rushed compared to the last 10 or so episodes, fights weren't that great, and the plot development could have used another 2-3 episodes imo.

Many people dismissed this anime purely on the kiddy style art and the fact that they were trying to target a younger audience; I gave it a chance, I overlooked the art and obviously terrible character developments and found that the show had an overall decent plot going on and I had looked forward to watching the show every week. I enjoyed the early to mid-stories but found the show tanking near the end. Overall I would have liked to give this anime a 6/10 but the ending just killed it for me; it's getting a 5/10.

Last episode settled AGE 2 plot of Asem and Zeheart and this one settled AGE 1 of Flit becoming a savior.

I'd say the last half was pretty rushed, as usual. SID is supposed to be this strong badass with all this knowledge yet he got owned. Same with that clone fella. Instead of having the 1:30 ending, they could have had a more decent epilogue, memorials, show what happened to all the surviving side characters, and Vegan arriving/adjusting to Earth

The only pros i loved from this episode was Flit reuniting with Yurin, the only thing that stood out to me in this whole episode actually. Guess Emily doesn't mean much to him. I love Flit, he's my favorite character but it would have been epic if he'd died and showed him reuniting with all the AGE 1 characters with Yurin's bow in the after life.

I'm in decisive which had the worst ending, 00 movie or AGE. 100 years huh? Overall i give this series a 7/10 because it had its moments. I wouldn't say this is the worst Gundam series as some of these "elitist" bitch about, but it's certainly not the best. If I thought this was rushed, can't wait to see the clusterfuck of the Special Editions.

Anime gets a 6.5/10 overall from me Flit was the only redeeming quality this anime had, kio's whining ruined a lot of this show. The episode gets a 4 at best considering how the enemies get dunked the final fight lasted what only a minute and a half just terrible. Really hope to not see anything more like this in the future.

The conclusion was much better than I expected, definitely perhaps one of my favorite of the Gundam's Ive seen. I enjoyed each of the developments as well as the final boss. Never would have thought it would be Zera Gin's combined with SID. I guess people who called that SID would come back before the show as done were right on the money.. They really know how to appeal to me with all the flash and stuff, and even the way they had it all played out worked well, just the camera position during the most intense part of the fighting and even the location. Really well done. The resolution was actually satisfying even if the hints were laid out pretty heavily over the past six+ episodes. I did crey when Lord Ezelcanto sama gave his final wish to Kio, forking over his ideal for Kio's one of making a world in which people can just be human. I was so glad when both sides made pleas for everyone to work together towards the various goals, as well as disconnecting La Gramis from Second Moon and all three Gundams working in unison, teamwork is always win!. Excellent.
-----------

Overall Id have to say Gundam Age was just a really wonderful ride for the past 50+ weeks Ive been following it. The art style and character design initially interested me in trying it out and I liked mechas and was looking for a way to get into Gundam, so I thought to start here, and it worked. During the time I did follow this, and then picked up 00, Seed HD, and even Wing. The characters for gAGE were just really good and right in my interests for stories I like to follow. Each generation saw them receive considerable amounts of development, and them working towards their goals and motivations, with their own keystone moments. Flit was awesome as a lead and second favorite of the three. I liked how he turned out over time, shaped by the things that affected him in his age. Desil was a good rival of sorts for him. Then Asemu was an excellent second one who was my favorite. I think for the three he was given the best Gundam. The Age 2 Gundam Normal just looks amazing and I always like the ones with wings and are slimmer. Age 1 had some pretty bulky modifications, such as the Titan form of it. Even if he wasnt an X-rounder, I liked how a normal human could still have relevance even against his rival of sorts, Zehearto. And for Zehearto too he had good development over time. I believe he liked having the company of Asemu and friends during his teenage years and was grateful for it, even if he couldnt ever express it to Asemu well. The memories he had later in life were touching and just the photos we occasionally saw and their robot stuff. The gens big two moments were amazing especially Zehearto and Asemu having to work together at the Battle at Northrum, and such, and working to from causing too much harm to earth, that entry to earth was awesome. I love teamwork. The Battle at Big Ring was good too, and liked the Magicians 8. And lastly third gen was good too. Kio may not be as good as Asemu and Flit, probably just due to age and being less experienced or not having time to be experienced, but his desire for peace was a nice change of pace for the mains, and I loved that he wanted to see things from the Vegans point of view. Being captured and meeting upclose with Lord Ezelcanto sama and Deen and his sister was a good set of episodes, and it gave us the glorious Gundam Legilus. And then further from this moment I liked that he received the best modified suit, the Age FX Normal with Burst Mode and C-funnels, that was epic and like he shot lasers from his eyes and all those glowing thrusters. The Vegan suit, FaunFausia is also another suit I liked from this. I guess I love bits, and even if it is kind of girly, it was still a cool suit! Favorite moments were with the stuff around Exa DB SID and Asemu and Zehearto with that issue, really good fight it was, as well as Rostroulan, OliverNotes, the MoonBase, and the fall of Big Ring. Final battle was amazing just for the sake of Digmazenon and my last Asemu/Zehearto moment and battle. I felt bad for Zehearto he was always ahead and finally let Asemu pass him and then to pass away :(.

I think Im probably in the minority but Gundam Age was worth giving a shot and was vastly rewarding week after week. I liked the ever deepening plot and the intense action, as well as the visuals and music (nary a bad song on the OST). Side characters like Desil, Fram, Leil, Seric Abis, Wolf, Ezelcanto-sama, Deen, Algrieus, were well done and interesting and actually worth mentioned, and the main characters were all good, like Zehearto, Flit, Asemu, Kio, were good. 10/10.

On my Gundams, definitely close to being tied with Wing for my favorite.

^you're very positive about AGE, which is good to see.

I rate this series a 7/10. There were some things I enjoyed, and some things I didn't. All in all, I actually enjoyed this series well enough to stick on this train ride for a whole year of watching. I'm going to come up with a review with for this since I'd like to describe my thoughts on there.

Idk how to really feel about the ending. It was hard to determine whether all the Vagans were going to be wiped out or that the heroes were sacrificed in order to attain a balanced future in the end. Plus...I played the storyline of the AGE game for PSP. I really enjoyed the gameplay system they had, and the storyline were nearly intact with each other, with some minor changes here and there. Hard to believe a bit that the game was released a month before the anime finished...and the game pretty much finished the story ahead of its time. .-.

this show could've had awesome points if it had good direction and writing.. the struggle of an old man to exact or give up on his revenge (mirrored twice with two characters and with opposite conclusions), the struggle of someone who felt inferior to his rival and his father just because he has no superpowers, the hesitation and resolve of someone to fulfill his commitment and accept another's legacy, the sacrifice of someone out of her loyalty and love, the struggle of a shy person so that she could become a better leader, and even the differences of ideals of three Gundam protagonists in one timeline.. these things could've been beautiful if the show wasn't intended for kids (heck, they even failed the part of being intended for kids coz of their ratings and sales).. in addition to too much whack gathered throughout the story, all the stuff i mentioned above were not handled sincerely and the characters doing it are not as compelling as the show drives them to do it just to enact it.. the show just feels like joining Gundam tropes yet the characterization and direction of the plot are not sincere enough to make up for it.. they made everything feel simplistic to appeal to children but even then, the show lacks the inherit charm for the kids.. they were able to make the previous Gundam watchers to see it but it just wasn't able to make up for it given how it has to remain simplistic..
so well, i'll just give it a 6/10.. i say this show still holds the best Gundam naked space scene (Fram's) and that Yurin moment at the end felt like giving Flit and the entire series a full circle.. and i'd say Gundam protagonists growing up is the biggest and only motivation for watching this Gundam compared to the rest.. but it just fails at a lot of things..

I can only give it a 6 or a 7 out of 10. Gonna miss you AGE.

- Personally, maybe it was some kind of X-rounder mind trick (lol), but I almost felt that Flit letting go of his hatred was too easy. Yamada or NOT!

But Luckily he did. When the hatred went away, a good ending.

- Man, Zera was just...a waste. And why in the world did he bond with SID?! And FX whooped it too easily IMO. Zeheart had trouble with it, and this is the ultimate vegan pilot + the secret data stuff.

Other than that, a happy ending. See what happens when the world comes together? GJ Kio and Flit.

Glad that this stupid anime ends & THANK GOD for me.

I still couldn't stand Kio Asuno. There's NO way in hell that little shit could stop the war by 'saving' the enemies instead of Killing them like what we saw after he defeated Sid!!

The ending:-

MY GOD, it this A wakening of a TrailBlazer all over again?!

I was right, folks. we never know what happened to the other characters like Einus, Arisa Gunhale & others. Probably most of them didn't really care.

I originally rated it a 5/10 when watching earlier, but the last third made me downgrade it to 4/10.

Flit was a terrible grandfather, basically raising his grandson as a child soldier to fight his own proxy war against the Vagan. Asemu was a terrible father, basically abandoning his family and son for nebulous and vague reasons. Then Kio wasn't a terrible person, but just that his UNDERSTANDING stuff got really really annoying. They also manage to kill off literally EVERY SINGLE good character in the show before the end, often for completely pointless and stupid reasons.

The character development and sudden character shifts were really ridiculous. Flit's sudden change of heart comes out of left field to all of his development the entire show. Zeheart was built up well, then magically gets converted to Ezelcant's way of thinking within 2 minutes after saying he was insane just before that. Then he basically throws his life away at the end by just flying out there to get destroyed without even a decent battle.

The AGE builder was woefully underutilized for someone that had a blood-boiling hatred for the Vagan, and was the top commander of the entire Earth fleet for a very long time. He could have produced numerous AGE builders with the resources of the Earth Fed and built a fleet of Diva-class warships with Photon Blasters. Fed all of the combat data to the builders to constantly be churning out new and improved weaponry for the fleets, etc. Instead he made 1 suit every 20 years, and left it to rot in-between.

I'm glad to see this series behind us now, and hope we can look forward to a real Gundam series in another 3 years that doesn't cater to 5 year olds, like Gundam00. (Hopefully without terrible followup movies like Trailblazer lol...)

I love how at the end of the day Kio really did not accomplish anything at all.
He preached UNDERSTANDING for so long and only got people killed for it.
Meanwhile Yurin comes in and changes Flit's mind in about 5 lines. Oh Yurin you really were the saviour this show needed.

Flit the best character overall and I'm glad he was the one who became the saviour in the end.

The AGE builder is separate from the AGE system and the AGE device. While Flit doesn't know how to replicate the System or Device, he was the one who built the Builder. And seeing as they were able to feed the Builder extra data to build the Photon Blaster for the Diva, it should be possible to replicate the Photon Blaster for other Diva-class ships. AND create more AGE builders.

If you didn't notice, the EFF grunt units use Gundam-designed rifles. (DOTS Rifles, etc), and are generally based upon the design of the previous generation's Gundam.

And fucking expensive what? It's been 50+ years, AND he had the entire resources of Earth at his disposal as Supreme Commander of the EFF fleet, and influential EFF person who unrooted corruption in the government for many years as well. He could have easily made more.

Even if you bring in the trust issue, he was long-time friends with Algreus -- why didn't his Diva-class have a Photon Blaster? Why did he never build a Gundam for Woolf?

The Photon Blaster Cannon was designed by AGE System...
I mean fucking christ they showed the AGE Builder connected to the AGE-1 with cables before they started upgrading the Diva
AGE Builder is useless without the AGE System...

Adeles DODS Rifle are toned down
while it has the same power rating they dont have the mode where it shoots higher powered shots

theres still fucking trators and after Flits purged the corruption in the EF. Mentioned by Asemu saying he attacked Federation ships affiliated with Vagan and theres that shithead Aaron Simmons at the Moonbase

Wolfs G-Bouncer is a strong MS. He doesn't need a Gundam to kick ass

This.

The whole series was actually revolved around Yurin and her death if you think about it.
