Getting lost by ship with fairies with no energy for some reason. Watashi becoming queen on an island for some reason. Fairies are random as always.
Life with Fairies on the island is lol~ It's kind of like the life in Snow White except there are many fairies (and increased daily).
And once she said they are leaving, the fairies' melancholy became rain...

I ♥Two Syaorans from Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE and TRC!!!
In this episode: The Rise and Fall of the Watashi Empire.
Very funny stuff. The social commentary was a bit more in your face here than in the previous arcs but it was still a great episode. My favorite random gag had to be the narcotics fairy:
-"Hey boy... what is this?"
-"A narcotic."
-"Arrest him."
This was my favorite episode of this series yet because of the Fairies!!!
They had me cracking up the entire episode with their antics and childish demeanors,
On another note, this whole episode was basically the "ED" of the show with humanity rising, peaking, declining which I enjoyed the correlation
Brilliant. This is what I've been expecting since the first arc. The portrayal of the rise and decline of civilizations through interaction between Watashi and the fairies accentuate the anime's strengths: the humor and the commentary. An episode that truly lives up to the show's title.
Raphow said: i think this is supposedly the last episode ergo ep 12 due to the non-chronological order, just a feeling though
It could be...However, I think this is like a breather ep. It's the only one that doesn't need another ep to complete it. This would mean then that the last arc would compose of three eps...which could mean...EPIC ENDING.
Hopefully. But it's saddening that it will end soon...SIgh =.=
"Belief is the death of intelligence." ~Robert Anton Wilson~
I laughed at 'Religion' being on the fairies' list of necessary inventions. The fairies building symbols and monuments to acquire further purpose once their basic needs were fulfilled was a nice touch as well.
The social commentary was definitely not as subtle as in the previous arcs but this still remains one of the smartest series I've seen in years.
I'm not sure about everyone else, but I feel as if this has been one of the best episodes. The entire thing was just hilarious, with so many different things going on I'm not even sure where to begin.
As This is episode 9, that means 3 episodes left. This one doesn't SEEM to be a two-parter like all previous episodes, so that means either we are getting a three-parter, or that this is a two parter and we are missing something. I propose the missing something is the missing fairy from the beginning of the episode, the one who was the pushover and pushed out of the fairy meeting at the beginning I doubt that though, so I'm putting my money on a three parter for the finale.
Ms. sweets also brings up "The last time grandpa hit me was before I left for school." at the very end of the episode. In the op the only people we haven't met is a group of girls. So my educated guess for this next arc/episode, we'll be seeing Ms. Sweets in a completely new setting. School! this could mean we finally get a lesson in human history and what exactly happened to those silly humans.
The Fairies ability to build and create technology so fast is disturbing and the fact that this show is about Humanity’s decline; it only makes me wonder if the fact that the fairies are a direct cause of why that is so. Humanity’s reliance on the fairies who show little to no constraint at all would definitely lead me to believe that humanities reliance on them lead to this decline.
The fairies were awesome(and just a bit creepy). They, with no leader, are all too happy to become the willing subjects of Ms. Sweets. They shower her with gifts, creating anything she would ever want and in return she gives them candy. Eventually from trees and other various(rare) bugs and such they are able to create an entire new society within a week. Of course though, easy come easy go, and before you know it, the fairies frivolous nature ends up destroying all of the essentials.(hmm...social commentary much, Jintai?) Luckily the only causalities are the island and its spiders(and maybe any fairies who may have been stuck in the mud.) The fairies all had pretty great lines. Pretty much anytime they talked brought about another laugh from myself.
Ms. Sweets was fantastic as always. She took a little too quickly to becoming a queen of the fairies and only proves once again how this ambiguous little girl is just a bit too accepting of raw power. Of course she is able to hide all the fairies and get off with a head bump from grandfather.
Something I hadn't really noticed until now, but I love how they use the music. They have some fantastic set up music, that just works for the moods they use.
I can not wait for next weeks episode and am deeply saddened that this show is so close to completion. One of the best of the summer, and will most likely be ending up on my list of favorites.
I sometimes watch lots of anime.
I sometimes write reviews of said anime at my website. http://www.crawken.com/
I feel like this episode needs to be shown in an environmental sciences class to provide an understandable and enjoyable demonstration on the strains civilization puts on environment.
Best episode so far with a very good social commentary.
Half way in, I thought Watashi was going to be overthrown, which would have made for an interesting social commentary, but I guess the Fairies are a very loyal group.
This is probably the only episode i somewhat enjoyed lol. Still messed up over several things though.Though this episode kinda of reminds me of a game i say before ... pretty cool.

I HATED THIS EPISODE.
Because with it, we're one step closer to Jinrui ending y.y
On a more serious note, fairies really shone in this episode. They had a great deal of amazing lines that had me in stitches several times.
Gotta give it another 5/5

I don't know if I hadn't been paying enough attention before (because I usually don't pay much attention to the use of music unless it's particularly good/bad/fitting) or it was more prominent this time, but I was thinking the exact same thing. Music was incorporated really nicely.
So far the best episode (I feel like I keep saying this all the time). I agree that the music was very well done in this episode, I especially loved it when the ending music started.
Since chronology is really messy (the only thing I dislike about it) I decided to make a chronology table for other people interested in it (or maybe I'm the only one).
Assistant arc -> Probes arc -> Chicken arc->(?) Yaoi arc->(?) Stranded arc
I'm not really sure whether to put Stranded arc at the very beginning or at the end. Since we haven't heard anything about school before, I assume it belongs to the end. I'm not sure about the Yaoi arc as well since it can work both before Probes and after Chicken. If anyone has information about this, let me know. I need to know the chronological order. XD
Now, I'm going to fit this arc into the "Watashi is a mentally ill kid" theory. Yaay!! WARNING long rant ahead.
The beginning of episode, with fairies bullying one of them, including the "election" talk, looked to me like something real life "Watashi" might have gone through. Maybe her illness got better so her grandfather sent her to school. However, the popular kids ("election talk" = you need popularity to be class/school president) bullied her because they considered her weird. Because of these trouble her grandpa decided to home school her ("No desk for you") and in her imaginations her blamed them for it (they bullied her so she had to study at home).
The first part of the a peal (sorry, I had to)... I mean appeal, sounds like something an adult would say about our world (probably when her grandpa was explaining why they bullied her) while the next one sounds like something a child would add to an "ugly world". Also, notice that it says "from US". It could pretty much mean that those thoughts ("we seek asylum", "we need to get far away") were actually thoughts of real world's Watashi as a response to the bullying ("I want to be safe"," I want to go away"). It could mean she, once again, hid in her own world. The lack of Watashi at the beginning could hint on her doing better with her illness and she was "herself" not her ideal future self... until the bullying.
The "stressed" talk could be something that happened between a psychologist and her grandpa, of course she changed it so that strangers she didn't feel comfortable with weren't around and so it would fit into her imaginary world so it was just her and grandpa and it was about fairies. The trip order was simply a vacation she had to go through to get over the stress from bullying. This is the reason why she was the queen and why the fairies did everything she wanted, it was simply her grandpa trying to make her relax by doing everything she wanted. Notice that the bullied fairy was missing after getting stranded. hat could hint that she got over it faster than expected (what is a good sign since it means she could get better soon) but Watashi was still there what hints on some kind of... preference of her imaginary world over he real one (that could be a problem).
Cookies throwing simply meant that she had all the sweets she wanted (fairies represent her real needs and they were greatly satisfied in this episode). The crazy mechanics and fast inventing were simply her addition so that it would make sense in her imaginary world. I guess they (real her and grandpa) went into wilderness at first since nature is believed to have good effect on humans. That was covered by getting stranded in her imaginary world. She complains there a lot (the lighter, leaf bed, missing shower) and so her grandpa decides to take her to nearby hotel with hot springs (fancy furniture, electricity, hot water). It's at this point when he could feel guilty/or makes her want to relax more so he lets her eat more sweets. However, she starts abusing it (building monuments could mean that she started playing with the food) and her grandpa stops with the sweets. That makes her (fairy population) gloomy and creates bad weather (it could have actually rained for a long time in real world). That's when their time for vacation runs out (grandpa probably has a job, judging by those weapons he could be in police or similar) and they go home (grandpa picks her up in her imaginary world). The school things probably means that they want to try it again or it simply means that grandpa finally started home schooling her.
What this arc meant for real world Watashi? Her illness got better so she could go to school what means that it is curable. However, the bullying incident made her lock herself up again. She didn't get much better due to her grandpa spoiling her too much but the reappearance of grandpa and assistant means that she once again managed to return to real world to a degree. So she's is pretty much where she was an episode ago. Another thing I got from this episode is that Watashi somehow represent her mental condition. Lack of Watashi means that she is getting better, while appearance of Watashi means that her condition is at the starting point. Since fairies are symbolise her real self and Watashi ideal mature self. Fairies also symbolise the things she can't explain (that's why they create stuff out of nothing) and other people that interact with her. Also, I believe that appearance of others (not just herself= Watashi and fairies) also signifies some sort of "returning" to the real world.
Great episode. Queen Watashi and those cute fairies...brilliant. All the social commentaries were amazing here as well. The narcotic one especially made me laugh.
The reject fairies made me feel somewhat better about fairies overall. Seeing them down about more than not getting sweets was something of a relief. Maybe making them feel like something I can understand a tiny bit better as living creatures.
I didn't expect such episode after last two pretty mediocre ones. This one is definitely worth watching again. It's nice to see darker side of Watashi...
The source of pride and confidence for the fairies is Watashi's Empire. They compare their city to abandoning a relative. They sure get attached to things pretty fast.
