Something about this episode was a bit off. The manga… had WAY more emotion in it. And actually, I don't think Aomine was portrayed correctly. In the manga he wasn't quite so much of an asshole. It was just not quite as emotional as the manga was and that kinda saddens me because I love this series so much. It was a great episode in itself.

I get what you're saying. I also felt way more despair from this match in the manga.

I think what ruined it was the ending clips with the opening song playing along with them.
It was more kind of lol because that song is too hype for an emotional moment like that loss.

Should have had a nice, sad instrumental piece playing instead.

Whoever was in charge of that montage and OP song combo just please...no.

Guess I'm gonna have to start with the manga now then ^^

Well, its more realistic that Seirin lost this game as them winning every game would be kind of boring, even though its kind of BS how Aomine has the skills of a superhuman. Time for the squad to train up!

They have pretty shitty spirits as a team. Every game they get all scared then all of a sudden they do what all shounens do in fights power up except it didnt work this time. LOL

Anybody that reads the manga can you send me a pm to let me know if Kurorko learns how to do at least basic dribbles or lay ups?

Lol I know thats all im waiting for Kuroko would make the show more interesting if he could score / drive /penetrate or something. Enjoy the show showing someone with a crossover but i feel then Aomine should be either a point guard, shooting guard, or small forward because no matter what a coach wouldn't let a player with handles and a scoring ability play a power foward no matter how tall look at Tyreke evans for Sacremento Kings he is about 6'6 someone said he was a power forward which i find odd since they give the ball from upcourt not to mention his speed...to really use his speed he would need to be one of the three positions i mentioned

Obvious outcome, but still good episode. If only Kuroko would have been able to stop one of Aomine's play, it might have awoken him.

Kuroko's basketball is his invisibility and whanot. If he learned to dribble and shoot that skill will probably not work as well as it does now - since attention is usually placed on who's handling the ball. Unless, of course, he can continue being invisible while dribbling. lol where did the ball go I'd still love to see him more from him, though.

I had the feeling they were going to lose, but I was still clinging onto some sort of miracle. (´;ω;`) But a change of pace is fine once in a while. They'll become stronger that way. I wasn't a fan of that montage at the ending, though. There could've been a better way of ending that game.

I freaked out when Akashi was mentioned. I know nothing about him but still. and lol he was just mentioned When will he and Murasakibara appear? ( TДT)

aww they lost :( aomine is awesome and well out of the 5 generation of miracles if they were to lost to one person i would pick aomine anyway..the art seems to be abit crappy compared to the last episode, it seems like they are keeping the 'upping the art during epic moments' trend all the while, but i'm not happy with them scaling off the art down in this point. :(

that said, i'm reallly happy when i saw the guy at the end of the credit :D we'll get 7 episodes of awesomeness with him lol

Atleast they did their best till the very end so I guess it was a satisfying defeat. But still though, Aomine's shots are overpowered as hell, haha.

Another great episode. Really pissed to see Seirin lose like that. Touou is just way too good. Aomine though, he's on a whole new level. That guy is an unstoppable beast, like holy shit! He can even catch Kuroko's ignite passes.

Great to see coach Riko noticed that Kagami's not using his injured leg and taking all the weight on his other leg. Best part was when the OP song played as an insert, that was so awesome. Loved it when all of Seirin didn't give up, now that's what I call great sportsman ship and spirit. They got thrashed immensely though, 112 - 55. D:

Next episodes, I so wanna see Kuroko/Kagami kick Aomine's ass, srsly. >=D

Of course he can catch kuroko's passes, he was his light during 3 years in Teiko after all. Very disappointed that they skipped the part where Aomine says "Your basketball still works best with mine, Tetsu", instead they replaced it with Aomine just looking down on kuroko. Pretty disappointed episode so far, much less intensity and the music chosen for the AMV at the end was really bad. Like most people who read the manga, there's a lack of emotion too.

First time I have been really dissapointed with an episode. I didn't feel the same emotion I did when reading the manga and watching the previous episodes, and the montague at the end felt lame.
The guys of the bench doing the preview were really cute, and I can't wait for the next episode, since it's the debut of my favorite character.

Regarding what the anime will cover for the next episodes:

Time to step your game up Seirin! I was disappointed in Kagami though, I figured (since he went to the States) he'd be able to deal with the street basketball... at least a little better than this. But then again his injury played a big role.

ps: Facepalm @defence. It seemed as though they were unmovable dolls

I thought that too. Guess he was only in official basketball teams and didn't spend much time on the streets.

It sucks they lost, and i don't like Aomine, but i'm glad we're getting a change of pace. Too many big games in a row. My heart can't take it.

I'm glad they lost, but I really didn't like this episode's weird montage thing at the end. I guess they had to show the rest of the game fast though, and that was a good idea of theirs. Seirin has won every game they've played so far and it's honestly high time they lost something, and plus a comeback would have been a big deus ex machina.

Damn it, if only had their 2nd chance but it seems that they're running out of episodes (it's only 7 episodes left) & there's NO plan whether they should air the 2nd season instead.

THIS IS JUST RIDICULOUS & UNFAIR... *shudders*

The animation is at least better than episode 16.

Aomine doing fade-shot is crazy, there are some movements that are hard to understand in the manga but now that it's made into anime everything is clearer (and even more crazy lol)

Even though this episode isn't the best one, I'm looking forward to the next episode (Debut appearance of my fav character ><).
Because we're going at 3 chapters per episode, probably we won't see his whole personality but that's okay. Oh, and I'm looking forward to episode 21, the scene
HAS to be awesome (or that will ruin this anime for me).

Aomine is dat dude. ^_^

I'm glad Seiren lost. I wanted them to lose during their game with Shutoku too. But with the beat down they've just received, I don't think I like the fact that only 25 episodes were planned.

I mean, the manga (I haven't read it) is still ongoing, right? There are only 7 episodes left, and only one team with one of the Generation of Miracles has been defeated (I'm excluding the practice match with Kise) in an official match.

These are the guys that have been hyped since the beginning, and two of them have yet to make an appearance. Not to mention Seiren just got squashed by Aomine. I have a feeling that the "ending" will be rushed. Because Seiren defeating Touou, Yousen and Rakuzan High all in the next 7 episodes seems highly unlikely.

Damn, I hope they make another season. :/

Wow, best episode in a while! ;D Kid Aomine was really freaking cute XD Also ... random Midorima and Kise commentary FTW? Hmm ... o_O I mean I love them and all but ... seriously, is that the only thing you're there for? :P
Aomine's moves ranged between FREAKING AWESOME and I'M PRETTY SURE THAT'S NOT ACTUALLY POSSIBLE for me, but it's so fun to watch him that I kind of ignored it. Mostly ... :P Loved how he could catch Kuroko's pass because "who do you think has been catching your passes for longer?" YOU TELL HIM! XD Also reference to Akashi who is the red guy I think! Hrm ... maybe we'll get introduced to them soon? O_o
Aomine just standing and talking to Seirin while they kept saying how they wouldn't give up was ... well, I mean, obviously if you're that far ahead your plan is to run the clock down but there IS a 24 second shot clock. Unless there isn't. Ugh, IDEK anymore - my basketball knowledge seems to be useless here, either because it's different in Japan or they're just ignoring the rules because they can -_-"
TBH I thought that fading in scene with OLD FOOTAGE NO LESS with the OP playing was really weird ... but, well, it was a good ending to the match I guess? Finally they lost one. I lost the bet I made like half an hour ago but that's good. Yes, you guys got crushed and I love you for it. Only wins are no fun to watch, I tell you! I would have thought they'd pull a win out of their asses because of their "will" or something crappy like that. Glad it didn't turn out that way this time, at least.
Next week looks like there will be a new guy, at least. I wonder what they're gonna do now that the match is over ... are they out of the league then? I admit I kind of have forgotten how that format works ...

This episode's title - NO!!!!

Me - YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was neat seeing young Aomine and Satsuki in that mini flashback. I realized then that no matter how high Kagami would jump, it would be meaningless. Aomine was playing with people a few feet taller than him since he was a toddler lol.

Anyway, the defeat with Seirin was handled nicely, they needed this in order to grow. They're 100 years too early to think they can stand with Aomine Daiki at this level.

I'm glad they didn't give up though and I hope Aomine can find basketball a bit more enjoyable now after this experience. I'm really looking forward to the post-game episode and all the interactions we know there's going to be. From both sides.

I'm really interested in the history between Akashi and Kuroko as well, I can't wait until he makes a formal appearance.

I was really upset that they didn't have "Your basketball works best with me" in this episode. Like, VERY upset. That quote is one of my favorites of Aomine and I'm really sad that they didn't have it. This episode didn't hold the same "they know everything about each other" that the manga did. It didn't seem that Aomine and Kuroko really knew each other when they know each other the best.

I have to agree, I felt like something was off too. I actually can't wait for the part in the next episode where Aomine gets angry at that benched member for badmouthing Tetsu (as seen in the preview), kind of showing that he does have a soft spot for his old teammates/friends. ^^ Wished it was a bit more depressing, since in the Manga it seemed like...well, I felt as if it was kind of like a huge roadblock for the Seirin Team, especially seeing what comes next in their games and the issues they have with dealing with loosing the match.

I was also annoyed that they took out the awesome quote; I always like having certain parts following the manga word by word and it annoys me that they put in "Akashi was right" when it wasn't in the manga...(unless I missed that part?) So I'm (sadly) expecting some of the anime storyline to be different. Hopefully not too much (Although I really want to see Akashi in the anime xD)

I'm so excited for the next episode! I'm sure it's going to have a bunch of funny moments like the manga (at least I hope, love the comedy) and hopefully show the evolution of the team ^^

I was actually pissed that they won in the 2 games against the 2 kings (or whatever they're called), it was too unreal, not to mention Midorima's shots (I dropped it at after that episode), so this game was reassuring that the series is worth my time. And from reading the manga I could say, despite the super abilities the players are given this show is enjoyable, this match will be a turning point in this series.

So Teppei is gonna appear next episode, good to see him finally, I wonder who's gonna be his VA. There's no episode this week? If that's true then too bad, I just reached this episode in hope for watching the next episode tomorrow. I also hope there's gonna be a 2nd season, it'd be a shame if they didn't animate the later games.
