The first anime I saw was Ragnarok.
But the two that got me into anime were Claymore and Wolf's Rain. I cant remember which came first.

I think Gundam Wing got me hooked on mechas when I was little, however I believe it was Naruto (I'm sorry XP) that first introduced me into what the world of anime was all about. From there on it's been one new series after another XD.

I would have to say Death Note (watched it dubbed) and the Key trio (Air, Kanon, and Clannad) were the most influential series. After Story is my favorite anime to this day and KyoAni is one of my favorite animation studios, up there with Shaft and P.A. Works. After watching Death Note, Shugo Chara, and Air, I was well on my way to becoming an anime fanatic...

Full Metal Panic (recommended from my cousin) got me sorta hooked onto anime as it made me laugh and it was one of the funniest animes seen, then came along Angel Beats (recommended from my friend). Angel Beats was soo goood which got me hooked into more... after that, there came many more, and before I knew it, I began watching lots and lots~

Well there were anime shows that I watched when I was younger that made me acknowledge anime like Slam Dunk, Digimon, Hunter x Hunter, and Pokemon. But then I got older and then I watched Lovely Complex. Lovely Complex is the show that really got me into the anime world and got me to love it a lot! :D

Mmmm i would say the anime that got me completely and udderly addicted to anime would be Zakuro. I watched anime before that like anything on toonami from gundam to DBZ, also went through a huge death note and code geass addiction. But i only watched action packed anime. But after watching Zakuro it lead to me loving slice of life, romance, comedy, horror, and basically any other genre of anime too lol.

As a kid I watched alot of Pokemon, I saw a few episodes of DBZ, watched a bunch of Ultimate Muscle also.

But it really started for me when I decided to watch Dragon Ball and decided it wasn't really for me so I skipped ahead to DBZ of which got me into anime (I did go back to Dragon Ball afterward and enjoyed it).

i had always hated anime *really just because i had never given it a fair chance, though i said it was because it was so cheesy* - though that was never set in stone because i would occasionally watch an anime movie and enjoy it *everybody, anime lover or not has seen a few anime movies* . one of my favorites was princess mononoke, i have always considered it one of my favorite movies since i first saw it. ... and one day it occurred to me "why don't i watch more of this?!" hence i started watching all of ghibli's movies, still not wanting to get into those "cheesy" anime series though. the one that got me into the series *serieses?; series's?* and was also my first anime series was clannad.

- IN SHORT - princess mononoke got me into anime, but clannad got me into anime series

Sailor Moon, Digimon, Pokemon, Kiki's Flying Delivery Service, and My Neighbor Totoro were what I grew up on, followed closely by Cardcaptor Sakura.

I watched whatever I could on TV and bought all the VHS's that the movie store sold up until I got my first laptop, then I kind of just dived right in.

Watching Toonami as a kid I saw shows like Tenchi Muyo and Zoids, but that was before I knew what anime was. I actually resisted watching it for years but one day I was perusing Netflix and came across Birdy the Mighty: Decode and put it on. My reasoning? The chick on the cover was a redhead, and I dig redheads. Turns out the show kicked ass and after knocking out both seasons in less than a week, I never looked back.

So before I got into anime, I was a huge DBZ fan, so I was browsing some DBZ fan forums and there was this topic about the top 30 most influential anime characters of all time. And the guys there were raging because Konata (Lucky Star) and Haruhi were ranked higher than vegeta, but me being curious and all I decided to watch both Haruhi and Lucky Star and the rest is history.

Cowboy Bebop, Sailor Moon, Black Cat and Trigun. Most of them I saw when I was a little kid. My dad's a big fan of anime, or used to be when I was younger, and got me into a lot of it.

When I was small I saw Sailor moon on the TV, but I had no idea that it was an anime back then. Two years ago, I heard someone mention "Sailor moon", and I recognized the name. I searched it, and started watching it on the internet. I really liked it, and didn't stop watching until I had seen all the episodes. (It was summer break and I had nothing to do). But after I finished that, I had absolutely no intention to watch any other anime. I think I actually watched Sailor moon two times. Then, one year ago I was in a period when I was really depressed. I had nothing to look forward to in my life. On some sailor moon site I had heard someone mention the name "Inuyasha". I thought I would not like it at all, but tried it out anyway. I was wrong, I really loved it! It gave me something to look forward to in life. And when I finished it, I found another anime to watch, and the another....
So Sailor moon was my first anime, but I guess Inuyasha was what really made me like anime.

I feel super old, seeing everyone else's firsts.

My first anime was Totoro, in like.. 1996 I wanna say? But I did not actually get into anime until Sailor Moon and Pokemon in around 1999-2000. I remember I subscribed to Animerica and Animerica Extra way back when, I don't even know if those magazines are still around.

If we're counting things like Pokémon then I was watching anime from a very young age without realising it. If we're talking hardcore fan, then the first anime that I watched was 'Elfen Lied'. I was 10 and was a little scared, but that's like happy ponies galloping in the meadows compared to what I've seen since O.O

I was lying in my bed about to go to sleep. Then I heard some weird singing, I never heard before in my life. But the song start to sound good I start to sing along with. I went to the menu to see what the name of the show, it read Bleach. That was a weird name to call a show, but I watch the whole show. I was curious and anxious to see what's going to happen. Bleach was showing a marthon. Ever since I watch every bleach epsiode and learn more about it on the internet.

Ronin Warriors, first cartoon I ever watched that had a indepth story, characters, and villains. At the time, I didn't even know you called them anime, thought it was just another cartoon. It wasn't even on Toonami yet. Think it was on Channel 5 or 10, coming on at 2:30pm. Don't even think Toonami existed yet. During the days of animaniacs, this marvelous gem fell into my lap, revealing an intelligent world of "Well Done" cartoons I later realized was called anime.

off the top of my head

Quake with Fear
Flare up now
Snake Fang Strike
Iron Rock Crusher
Web of Illusion
Arrow Shock Wave
Black Lightning Flash
Super Wave Smasher
Thunder Bolt Cut
Angel of the Inferno

what a great show, all fond memories, at the time I must have rewatched it 5-6 times...
