THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
The episode was top notch in action and SFX with CG. However that is where it ends. How cheesy is the cheese when Kirius gets his sword grabbed easily like that by Madoka? Seems they exaggerate the powers of the Vox. The mace of Izo’s mecha did shit to Lan’s Vox nor did Kirius even slice the Vox of Madoka although he did slam it a few times. That was a let down in a way. I though it could have been fair instead of overpowering. You know? Anyway Kirius was nice in his fight along with Izo being a good support.

What about the cheese of the Madoka x Lan in the light being happy? It was nice but it was done before and kind looked cheesy except for the fact it boosted morally Lan. Whom her Vox once in robot form and not piercer was marvellous. It looked really good. I will also say that Lan was over MOE in the following,

That part reeked of MOE from her but what was best of it was that it had a emotional outlook. That is good.

In thee end back to back Madoka x Lan in the spoiler
was nice while Mugiboobies there was lonesome a little.

In thee end my enjoyment »»»»» my complaints but I wonder how many are a little on my side of complaints this time around despite the episode still being enjoyable.

Lan and her Vox, WOW just wow. That’s all I will say. May edit later.

BTW End Art in the spoiler
is of Lan and she is hot! Damn that is one heck of a pose.

Non-stop action

Madoka needs to work on her sword grabbing skills however, Lan has stellar sword grabbing skills, both had a hard time against Kirius and Izo, the friendship boost helped a lot.

Madoka's thinking outside of the box is one of the best aspects I like in her as a pilot, it made for a nice choke hold on Kirius but it was short lived and made for an epic home run that saved her friends from a wayward vending machine.

Madoka's sister and her friend she hangs out with get gate passes for clearance.

Madoka's singing will have to grow on you, it's pretty good, but as a fan of Yuikaori, I can tell Kaori isn't as used to singing at such a low alto voice like that.

This show is surprisingly awesome, pure win!

All-action episode this time, and it was great from beginning to end.

@Hoppy I totally agree with you, the unorthodox way Madoka fights is one the best parts about this show. And the fact that her first concern was preventing the town from damage, is great.

I wasn't expecting much from this show, but Viz really came through with a great simulcast this season.
On the off chance they would ever dub/release this I would definitely buy it! I really hope if they haven't already, that they pick up the streaming license for season 2 as well!

Urahara Out!!

I love it, not just the action, the art and the friendship and characters, I frickin' love the soundtrack, I feel nostalgic whenever that soundtrack pops up. I have a feeling that this is the best anime this season, glad there will be a second season right after the first
idk why I was here but I'm prob back to playing Hunt: Showdown 1896 again when you read this

Kinda underwhelming episode, but I still really liked it :D Madoka remains awesome as ever :)

4/5

I hope they get weapons soon, unless they intend to suplex them to death. :S The 'baddies' should get better weapons too, their current ones are really lame D:

Madoka singing the Jersey Club anthem during her fight made me lol xD I also love how Kirius is full taking Madoka seriously as a pilot, and she's just winging it xD

Unless you weren't paying attention, both times he swung at her head, he hit. She TRIED to grab the sword, and failed both times. Lan is the one who did it right, and that was only at the end.

Also, while I think it was really cheesy for them to do the bright lights and happiness thing when they passed, it was a nice way to show that Lan got a morale boost there.

Overall, I love this anime, finally a mech anime that doesn't take itself too seriously while still being stupid-enjoyable.

And this is the point where I would've become 100% sure that this is a yuri romance about Madoka and Lan if the director didn't spoil us (assuming he's not just talking trash, like that guy who did Mahou Shoujo Madoka...) :-P

I loved how Madoka's unconventional yet ineffective moves totally bewildered her opponent. Yeah, when you think about it, choking a robot is either very stupid or must be a totally brilliant special trick ^^

That legend sure sounds scary. I wonder how they'll make this work with the rather upbeat approach of the show.

At least she did it eventually. All in all that was still pretty good for a high schooler with zero training and almost zero fighting experience. I think many people wouldn't have thought about collateral damage at all.

Haha, yeah I saw this before going to bed. Still does not change the fact sword hits and nothing happens really to the Vox. Not even a metal chip. Usually I don't mind but somehow I was thinking it would not be like that.

I guess so, but it did still end up taking damage though, not technically - the guy even called it a certain technique, saying that it wasn't flashy, but was very effective or something.

Either way, I'm enjoying it.

That episode really made me question Madoka's level of intelligence. I know she is supposed to be a ditz for comedy but I expected her to at least consider a negotation with Kirius, if all had went as he planned she could have prevented all the property damage to her town.

And I cringed alittle at the end of the episode becuase she seriously still thinks that Kirus's objective was to destroy the city. How ignorant can this girl be? If she would have said "perfect" and did that circle crap I would have thrown my laptop out the window.

Well at least the animation and fighting is good.

I think it's a nice comedy touch the way Madoka just tells off the guy like shes talking to someone in her class lol. I was also craving for a comedy anime that has a badass female heroine. Most anime's that have these are too serious and it's funny to see the HQ's reactions to Madoka's piloting.

LOL @ trying to strangle Kirius with the telepphone line. Trying to strangle something that doesn't breathe... oh! it must be a killing technique used on this planet!!! lmao.

Madoka and Lan are really likable. It was pretty amusing how mech fights can sometimes be comical. Preventing damage to the city, and singing while fighting. I don't know any other main lead mech pilot can do that. She shows got spunk!

I just love how optimistic and determined Madoka is, it's simply inspiring.
I'm wondering why piloting the robot Madoka is in charge now is considered such a dangereous thing and what's up with the ominous prophecy mentioned at the end.
Anyway, that's affirming my suspicion that there are ugly trues lying beneath the pretty surface, maybe even literally, since the vox has been located under the ocean for a long time as it seems.

I like the fact that the opponents Madoka had to face aren't stereotypical villains but have their own good reasons to act like they did, or at least it is hinted at by Kirius.

The BGM was fantastic once again, it really got my blood boiling.

One thing is for sure Makoka can't sing, she was enjoying her song tho.
Which almost looked like she was drunk, yet funny as hell.
I wonder if the legend Lan was referring to had anything to do with the legend the prisoner was talking about near the end or something else.
I wonder what scared Lan so much.
Also who exactly is Lan since the referred to her as Hime she must be someone importuned.

Another stellar episode! This show gets better and better.

I love how Madoka used her knowledge of the town to keep it safe, it made her a believable character I think. And how she asked him to apologize for her the old mans field was simply hilarious!

The ending scene telling the tale of the three Voxs was pretty cool, I just hope they go a little more in depth.

And once again, the ending song is bugging me soo bad! Just why is it so familiar?!

Looking forward to next week!

God, I love the reaction of aliens to human behavior. Reminds me a bit of Ideon. Only this time, the alien guy got confused by Madoka's stupid moves. Loved the scene when she tried to choke that guy's mech and he got all confused and thought it was a special attack.

I'm glad the legend is what it is. About how the three Voxes would eventually destroy the universe (that's what I gathered from it).

I'm fine with that because I know it won't happen.

When they kept referring to the "legend" earlier in the episode about the "fate of people who pilot a Vox" I thought it was going to be something like a death sentence. Kind of like "You get great power and can help people but then you die at an accelerated rate."

Any way, Madoka's singing destroyed my world this episode. In the best way possible.

I am thinking that or I am thinking the Vox takes control of its host at one point to use its vitality in its destruction. What exactly does it have as consequence that made Lan hesitate is interesting to be seen as to why it affected Lan more than anything.
