The title says it all mostly

It would be nice to have a RBD (Retail Blu-ray Disc) option for storage, with the growing popularity of blu-ray I'm sure more anime will be released on it, I already have Appleseed Ex Machina on Blu-Ray, I have it set to RDVD right now but it would be nice for it to say "RB 1.0", "BD 1.0", or "Blu-Ray 1.0" in the future.

Thanks

Mod Edit: Modified title for clarity and/or easier searching.

Perhaps just group blu-ray with dvd. Instead of the option "Retail DVD" we can have "retail DVD/Blu-Ray". That should do the trick without adding a new option. Otherwise yeah, this would be a good idea with the growing Blu-Ray market.

I don't see the harm in adding a new option for BR. It's nice to differentiate it from DVD, to indicate you have it on a HD medium. But I suppose it depends how Xinil has coded the backend. I'm assuming it's just a simple int, in which case adding more options like BD is totally trivial, and very worthwhile.

I also don't see the harm of just adding another option, there's already a tone to choose from, and i don't think it's that hard of an add, but only Xinil can know.

Retail VCD's should be added to the list as well.

Hm, I've never seen anime on VCD. Seen more laser discs (anyone remember those?) than VCDs. >.>

I have some anime on VCD. I see a lot of it here, but then I work near a chinatown. And the releases aren't usually legit.

Yeah. I actually have quite a few on VCD. Most were brought when I was in Hong Kong.

The blank disc is too expensive for now..so I'll wait till the price decreases. For now, I'll stick with DVD+R Single Layer

Update?

Also, in addition to VCD I'd personally like to see LaserDisc added as an option. I've got about 60-ish that I've picked up on the cheap since the death of the format.

The title pretty much says it.
With Bluray becoming a larger format, and many anime series being released on Bluray (not that much now, but the number is increasing) I think it makes sense to add in a Bluray option for the "storage type" when you add/edit a series.

I've seen at least the Dragonball Z specials and movies on Bluray, as well as Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. Not done much more legwork than that, but it's still evidence that there's more to come, and the feature is needed (and surely, very easy to implement?).

More and more anime is coming out on bluray disc now, so I think the "storage" drop down should include that.

really now, this is quite a simple suggestion and there is no reason for it to not be implemented.

Do it Xinil. Do it now or you might as well get rid of the storage feature altogether.

With Blu-Ray being the newest and best Anime "storage" right now, and many of us are converting to that format as we're on here, wouldn't it be only right to add it to the list with DVDs, CD's, etc? So, please, add Blu-Ray to our storage options.

It should have been done long ago. I guess they will do it in another ten years. All hail CraveOnline Media.

I actually found more serious the fact that LaserDisc (LD) is not included either, since at least with BD you can claim that "it hasn't been included because the section hasn't been updated in years" but you have no excuse with LD.
I understand if uncommon formats like Betamax are omitted or forgotten, but LaserDisc was THE format of anime until the advent of DVD in Japan so the omission of LD is almost unforgivable, because it makes the whole section pretty much useless to any serious anime collector since there many older/obscure anime that are only available in LD, and they were never (and probably never will be) released in VHS, DVD or BD.

Under the drop down menu for the type of storage you have I was wondering if you could put a Bluray option under there. I own two or three different bluray series, and I was wanting to mark it accordingly.

Indeed, the "DVD/CD" should be changed to "DVD/BD", or even better, Blu-Ray Disk having/being its own category.
I fully agree, thank you for the thread.

Ok why is Bluray not an option in the drop down box for storage type? While it's not a big deal really it's still a bit odd that I have to choose retail DVD for my BD series.
