| Because the Gundam trilogy was a huge success and Bandai is still able to capitalize on it? Joke aside, it is an easy promotional move (for whatever is about to be released). |
| They paid for those frames, they might as well milk it for all it's worth. It's cheap and lazy but I can understand why studios do this. |
| recap episodes still count as a weekly episode 1= they can save themselves a week of content by just reusing things from previous weeks 2=keep anime relevant by still putting out an episode 3=rare, but manage to get new audience members who only a saw a recap and want to invest in the whole thing compilation movies can be released in theatres, on tv as special events, and again for new audience movies who only saw the movie and may potentially want to invest in a tv series |
