I am seriously amused by the little American-ish details in this show. A USPS mailbox, how nostalgic ;___; Trucks, SUVs, and a Beetle! The sky is so freaking blue, it definitely feel likes Southern California, lol.

I love the Saturday morning cartoon feel. If all anime was like this I'd probably scream but one silly show every now and then is enjoyable.

Work permits are allowed in California for kids between 12-18 but in a family owned diner like that he wouldn't even need one.

Basically Heroman is what American cartoons would be like if their studios bothered to put in effort on the production. From that standpoint, it was awesome. I love the animation and art, as expected of BONES. Character designs for some of the characters are decent too and the music is kinda nice. I'll be watching this from now on solely for the production quality and only that, cause everything else is just underwhelming and makes me go bleh.

So, Heroman. Bones animation with the mind of Stan Lee (and leave it to Stan Lee to put himself in his own work). It really does feel like a pro-American, typical Stan Lee work, not that there's anything wrong with that (personally I find it a turn off because I'm having 'America!' thrown at me every few min, and the sudden American Flag design of Heroman is a bit beyond me). As usual Bones animation is fabulous. First impression are pretty good (though things that make good first impressions usually suck); I couldn't help but be reminded of Saturday morning cartoons from back in the day. Everything about this just screams of a typical marvel cartoon; everything from the beginnings of a small-town boy, to the birth of Heroman, followed by the hero in action! It sort of seems cliche, but at least to me it looks promising.
That's cause it is. It's just Spiderman but with toy robots instead of spiders. No seriously.

While I was getting my Fairy Tail fix from Horriblesubs I found this series and decided to give it a go. The animation is amazing, it's also refreshing to have the setting in the US instead of Japan. I don't particularly like getting bombarded by Americana every 3 seconds though, but I'll live with it. I can't believe I saw Stan Lee making a cameo, lol @ that.

Anyways, it's nothing out of this world but it looks like fun so we will give it a try. The cockroach enemies look funny, well at least Heroman will chop them up without censorship.

The anime is more focused on the younger viewers then the manga and the story is less i depth in the anime, little dissapointed.

I didn't have that kind of impression at all. I saw Joey as a male without a single thought... Probably because I watched things that is even worse, like Ookami Kakushi Hiro-kun faggotry.

OK, is not the first time that an anime occurs in "America" (preffers United States... Central and South America are ALSO America ¬¬), but is too weird~!!!! the sky is too blue, the flag appeareance is annoying, and the plot is americanesque cliche! TT^TT

OK, animation was rather good, the character design, I loved it, Music, good enough, but HELL NOO!!! I was strugling myself to watching it untill the end. This anime was made for kids and mass teenagers audience (as Naruto, FMA, Bleach and Reborn!, that's why it has the lyrics in the OP)...
QFT except I don't like the character designs.

This is way way way too mainstream for me and I even like mainstream! It's like they made this anime just to have a mass American audience and get it licensed! Good bg music and animation but honestly, this is just too much for me. I might drop this, I might not.

Interesting first episode. I like how Stan Lee always makes an appearance in shows he's involved with (either as narrator or actually as a character).

I hope this show doesn't go downhill after the first few episodes, though, as I've seen more shows with nice first episodes that bombed later.

OK, this was an OK episode, but there were some things that really bugged me.

First, a single bolt of lightening transformed a children's toy into a complex, fully operational giant robot.

What.

Even as somebody who got an F in all his science exams, I can easily say that's bullshit. I mean, he even has a full stars & stripes design! Where the hell did that come from? It wasn't even on the original toy! Was the lightening bolt just really patriotic or something? I mean, Christ, you at least need some kind of Phlebotinum for this to make any kind of sense!

Second, the aliens speak perfect Japanese. Or technically, perfect English, since it's set in America.

Third, Heroman didn't put up any kind of shield, and yet Lina and her father are fine. I suppose that's a comparatively minor gripe, but it still bugged me.

Still, none of these are really bad enough to call this a bad episode, but it certainly gave my Willing Suspension of Disbelief a beating.

Also, Yuri Lowenthal in 3... 2...

Well, it wasn't any normal, run-of-the-mill lightning, it came from that wave that the aliens sent out so it does have a Phlebotinum excuse.

I can see him as Psy. Another voice for Joey that could work is Bosch using his Renton voice.

Hmm... Yeah, I guess there was some Phlebotinum in there. Still ridiculously specific, though... I mean, Stars & Stripes?

And yeah, Aliens speaking English does come up a lot. It still annoys me, though.

And yeah, he might make a decent Psy, although I was thinking of his Simon voice for Joey. And I pray to god they don't use Bosch... his Renton voice was horrible. 'Sides, Joey seems to be a much more likeable character than Renton anyway.

I know what/who Megaman is. I just thought that the name Heroman alone wasn't enough to compare it to Megaman, just because they share the "man".

Just finished the first episode and I noticed a few things that seemed oddly similar to Gurren Lagann. Its definitely the most interesting anime this year and I can't wait to see how it develops. Finally done with the dumb 12 episode animes, plus Stan Lee is great I mean he made the wise cracking Spider Man.

Other than the production and soundtrack, this episode and this whole story seems generic and boring (as expected).

Not expecting my feelings for this to change all that much by the end but I'll still follow this. Next episode looks like it'll be really action packed.

Stan Lee always cameos in everything that he took part in. Just look at all the Marvel movies. I'm quite serious, he's in every one of them.

Also Psy is badass since he's voiced by Selecao, Akira Takizawa.

Amazing first episode. I love the style of this show -- quirky like TTGL.

Is it just me, or is Joey an extremely feminine character? I kept thinking he was a girl.

(I think I might have said this already here...)

I think Stan Lee just likes to make his male characters like that. Like in Lee's Ultimo, I think one of the characters commented on Ultimo's beauty.
