| I'm sure at least half the 8 yr olds in the world have been bullied before, to the point where they complain. And hey, she's not PARTICULARLY ugly. The teeth are normal for eight year olds, and she has a generic round asian face. Girls tend to bully in a more social way. Eight years old is kind of early for that, though, so I don't know if this is a case of real bullying or simply an overexaggeration of kid's troubles. Maybe she just got into an argument with somebody and didn't want to go to school. |

Granted, bullying IS a part of growing up that most kids go through, but that doesn't mean it's excusable.When I was caught bullying other kids when I was in elementary/middle school, I was immediately punished by my parents. Too bad many teachers/administrative staff at schools/parents don't do the same. And it doesn't matter if she's a princess, the child of someone living on the streets, cute, or a horribly misshapen gelatinous blob. Unprovoked bullying is simply something that shouldn't be tolerated. (I'll have to agree that reporting on it in the national media is pretty dumb, though. :-/) |

| Bullies build characters. It it wasn't for bullies keep picking on my friends when I'm in primary, I wouldn't be as tough as I am today. (Protecting the weak is not easy) After me and my friend go to different high school, he was picked on again, but he snapped and beat the crap out of the 4 bullies and that's the last time he's ever picked on... Though there are also some cases where the bullied got emotionally scarred.. But those who fight through their bullies will end up tougher. |
