Some really strong SB and AD work in that first half, especially the latter. (Surprising considering this was a Tokoro board lol)

The B part didn’t disappoint either. Stussy looked absolutely incredible here. Not even as an insult, but genuinely a compliment, things are really starting to move fast now lol.

I dunno what's funnier. That Rossio who was supposedly killed by Bellamy is alive after all or that he's still in Mock Town xD

Vegapunk is continuing the monumental lore drop which has the whole world shocked. To Rayleigh all that is old news and he's getting wasted. His disappointment in Vegapunk not being able to keep a spoiler for himself shows.

They did a great job adapting Nusjuro's big slash, that shit went just as hard in the manga.

In the manga panel where everyone is trying to gang up on Nusjuro to stop him from using his sword, you can see Sanji's ass in the lower left corner already knocked to the ground. The anime adds a scene actually showing that happening and ofc it riles up the "Toei hates Sanji" people πŸ˜‚

fucking spectacular

I loved Stussy's sequence. Even though there was no action, the colors and design matched the vibe of the moment so well. That was artistic perfection.

I started feeling really sad for Stussy. At approximately the same time, my dislike of York increased dramatically. I totally forgot that the giant was broadcasting.

This just occurred to me… if Vegapunk discovered that the Roger Pirates found out the truth why didn’t he put is colossal brain to work in finding those that were still alive. Rayleigh and Scopper were in hiding, but Crocus wasn’t. (I don’t remember seeing Shanks or Buggy when they found the ponegriff.)

Edison insists that Stussy leaves the area while the Five Elders are walking around the lab, destroying all life forms within the place, Jimbei and Zoro are running back to the ship, and Franky’s group still has to deal with Ethanbaron. Despite their best efforts, they can’t take him down, and Ethanbaron decides to leave to focus on stopping the broadcast. Ethanbaron cuts the entirety of Labophase in half, and everybody inside feels the effects of it. Stella’s broadcast is still continuing, and everybody is shocked to hear about how during the Voi Century, the sea level rose by TWO HUNDRED METERS. Stussy and Edison are still talking and it seems that without Stella, Stussy is conflicted internally, which makes sense since she was formerly of Cipher Pol “Aigis” Zero. Stussy wants to release Kaku because of this, and Edison has no problem with it, and Stella apologizes for the destruction that was caused by Mother Flame (which was intended to be an energy source), the Kingdom of Lulusia. People are also shocked to learn the only other people who know the truth about the world are the former Roger Pirates, which obviously includes Dark King Silvers Rayleigh, the man who taught the Fifth Emperor about Haki. York did some big brain plays based on the information in the broadcast to figure out that the Transmission Transponder Snail is being protected by the Iron Giant, meaning that it’s possible that Vegapunk’s death caused its awakening. Lastly, we see Shakuyaku and Rayleigh lousing around, in which Rayleigh mentions it’s time for the young to shine. I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT IN ONE PIECE, SUCH AMAZING STUFF RIGHT HERE!

Cinema-quality episode which adapted 2 manga chapters and an absolute lore drop featuring tons of cameos from characters we haven't seen in ages, it's peak! ;_;

That Nusjuro slash on the Labophase was a top-notch adaptation, along with a fitting soundtrack. I had to replay it again and again! My eyes have been graced with sublime visuals. ;_;

This episode worked so well, adapting 2 manga chapters because chapter 1116 was a really short one, but they squeezed it in here along with the rest of chapter 1115. Citizens of the world have listened to most of Vegapunk's message about the sunken kingdom and the man-made disaster that caused sea levels to rise, even the truth about the Mother Flame and that a portion of it was stolen to be used as an energy source for the Ancient Weapon. Then he announced that the remnants of the Roger Pirates know about the truth of the world. Crocus knows. Heck, obviously, Rayleigh knows, but this is not the right time to announce it. The remnants of the Roger Pirates have their own reasons for keeping the entire truth a secret.

Damn, I just appreciate the lighting, the visuals, the animation, and the pacing...all of them in this episode were brilliantly directed. Such an incredible episode for the remaining climax of the Egghead arc, and the staff at Toei Animation is bringing their A-Game for the big arc finale. I love this episode! Episode 1149 is peak. ;_;

Alright, so the whole world sank as a result of the war between Joyboy's pirate crew and the World Nobles. The World Nobles also used one or more of the Ancient Weapons to win the war. In fact, one of these Ancient Weapons was also responsible for obliterating Lulusia, 800 years later.

Therefore, Lulusia's erasure off the map wasn’t due to any supernatural power that Imu possessed, it was simply the result of using an Ancient Weapon. Additionally, the reason the world continues to sink day by day is tied to the existence of these Ancient Weapons.

I loved learning all of that, but unfortunately, I think that’s all we’re going to get from Vegapunk, since the elders now know the actual location of the broadcast source. I think that was the end anyway, so it’s fine, I guess.

Also, is the whole world really in a great war that’s literally been going on for 800 years, as Vegapunk said, while Silvers is fussing about keeping the youngsters from getting spoiled? Brother, this ain't no show, these youngsters are actually trying to save the world here.

I think this is not just about "spoiling" stuff. Back in Sabaody arc, Rayleigh told Robin not to be too hasty, as she might come to different conclusions than them if she sees more of the world and discovers the truth on her own.

Basically it seems that "the truth" is not so black and white, which is even implied in the Vegapunk's speech as he himself is not sure which side of the war was the good one.

To me Rayleigh does not want Vegapunk to tell this stuff, because he doesn't want "the truth" to be an interpretation of one man or crew, and everyone should learn it in the most pure form and decide on their own what it actually means.

Fair. I mean, Roger's crew burst out laughing when they found out and decided not to do anything, just eff off peacefully, haha. Well, even though I think we can all agree that the World Nobles, now the World Government, are the actual villains, I respect everyone's right to interpret the truth in their own way.

WG is evil, no doubt, however WG as we know it was formed AFTER the void century.

Back then, 20 different nations for some reason decided to go against the ancient kingdom. Now it seems only Imu remained and is controlling everything.
It might be that 20 kings had a good reason to fight and weren't evil at all, but Imu somehow took control all by himself after the war and made WG what it is today.

There are many possibilities, but the point is, present day WG might not be the same as "the alliance" that fought Ancient Kingdom.

@Dahaka_ Valid point. But Joyboy doesn’t strike me as someone who'd go to war against people who ain't actually bad. We know almost nothing about him, but he’s essentially Luffy’s ancestor with the same fruit and personality. So I don’t think he would have died fighting people who weren’t bad, to be honest.

Where's Zoro when you need him, we're fighting a guy with a sword over here.
08:00 Those guys gotta be 100% dead right. Like ain't no way you surviving that.
08:48 I mean from our perspective this is very obvious, but I guess if you've always lived in a world with only islands the whole concept of continents is strange to you.
10:49 Ayo, Baroque Works. Also yeah 200 meters would about do it, I mean we obviously have had similar historic floods or rather 1 while humanity was around, which this is of course kind of inspired by, though the big difference that it was much more localized and it happened to simply be the "whole known world" where humans lived. Obviously still a massive area, as most cultures have a story about it. But obviously there isn't enough water to feasibly cover the globe like is the case in One Piece. Not naturally at least.
12:52 Ayo Vivi, it's your great great great great great great great grandma.
So clearly this is basically a reference to Nuclear Power, he made a Great Energy Source, and then it was abused to Nuke the hell out of place.
18:31 He didn't even say it was you lol but okay, yeah he's clearly outsmarted you.
Iron Giant W, now we gonna get to see him fight.
Rayleigh is like "no spoilers please"
09:59 Should have said "Fastball Special" it goes hard either way though. And like I've been saying "where's Zoro to fight the sword guy." well here he is.

I feel like Vegapunk's revelation wasn't really anything important for us viewers at least. I mean even if the world was one big continent back then, doesn't seem like it matters to us now.
