I loved this movie so much. The character animation was the highlight for me despite how high profile everything else looked and the high standard the movie kept at all times. PeakPeakPeak.

This film was utterly gorgeous. I find it pleasing how the score is 9/10 on MAL atm, becuase although the negative reviews are what I expected coming out of the theatre, they seem to be soooooo much more rare than I expected. I should say I only expected them because the person I watched it with also claimed there was "no plot", it wasn't something I thought myself. Honestly, those claiming there's no plot should go watch Demon Slayer, if they need the characters to yap for 50 minutes about what's happening and repeat the same lines over and over again. This shit was important for Denji, probably easily the most important and powerful thing that's happened to him in the anime so far. It was beautiful, perfectly directed, and left me feeling incredibly empty. Loved it.

things i dont want to forget about this movie: reze and denji's sweet teenage romance (hopefully denji gets what he deserves eventually...when he was left waiting with the bouquet of flowers....SHUT UP~this isn't to say that i don't think reze shouldn't have died. she should. lots of innoncent people died because of her. but this doesn't make it any less heartbreaking for denji), shark boy made me laugh my ass off, especially when i realized it was tanjiro's VA (if denji had been paired with power he'd died so bad😭), aki's scream 'i dont want to die yet' and the fact that i dont trust makima at all, even less than any other demon or enemy. but yeah, i just wished this was on my local cinema because it would have blown my brains ten times more. i loved it

Seeing this getting animated got me into tears. MAPPA did an amazing job and I am very happy that my favorite character Reze was brought to life by this movie perfectly! I am very thankful for Tatsuki Fujimoto for creating this wonderful character that I love! Overall *no biased btw* I give it a 10/10 for sure! Worth the watch and the music is incredible too! Reze best girl!!!

I didn't like the first half very much, as I thought it was too similar to the manga, though I really enjoyed the second half and it's animation. Though the 3D was a little iffy, it just really stinks they changed the art style and animation style so much just for it to still have 3D animation. Overall I thought it was great!

@acidic_water there is little sense to ask it on global forum, where nobody knows where are you from, how is your local cinema situation etc.

If you are from USA, R rating is actually 17+ not 18+ so you are ok.
If you are from different country, you need to check age rating yourself, because it’s not universal. Age restrictions differ from country to country.

And at last, I’m not endorsing it, but man… I don’t believe it’s so strict that you even need to worry about it. But again, I can imagine that in some countries it is more serious thing, but in this case it’s on you to check the waters.

Having read the manga already , waiting 3 years as worth every single penny in the theatre , this was mind fucking blowing , the slice of life animation , the camera angles , the voice acting , the choreography , the music , the visuals , the story , I am utterly speechless at what I just witnessed , the ticket price should have been higher and it would still feel less for what I get to see , without a single flashback shown the story conveyed is so great , hits you right where it hurts , I would absolutely rewatch this in theatres again . Even knowing the ending panel by panel , it was still shattering , being killed right in front of him when she finally started feeling any form of emotion for the first time... 100/10

@Jockeys

Iris Out is literally the Opening, that you can watch officially on Youtube:

https://youtu.be/ux3QETpLcPs?si=QQ5IzJp_SsPTCSQs

Jane Doe just starts at the end with the credits, literally an ED.

The only insert song I recall is the ED3 from the first season, but this time the full version. Banger.

Well, as someone who likes Chainsaw Man, I’m happy that it became a hit.
However, I can’t help but feel unsatisfied that one of the most talked-about anime and manga series on the internet
— probably ranked first or second in buzz — only managed to make around 6 billion yen.
It also makes me worried about the future potential of online manga that originate from the internet.
Not only Tatsuki Fujimoto’s works, but also titles like Kaiju No. 8 need to become successful.

@ginnko1 As the person above said that's a pretty good result on its own, but it also hasn't been screened in the West at all yet.

@lalindu It may be a success for MAPPA, but the anime industry needs to step up to the next level. I hope it earns 10 billion yen in Japan and at least 20 billion yen worldwide.

Well, if Demon Slayer can reach 100 billion yen without being released in China, I think other anime films clearly have the potential to earn at least half that amount. Japanese animation is still underrated, but I really hope it will soon become an industry where animators in Japan can make a decent living.

Just watched it again in theater before they stopped showing the movie on my local theater.

I watched it in a different theater that was slightly inferior than before so it might not resulting on a same quality as my first one but I'm still liking it the same as my first experience, and Reze's last word still makes my heart hurt...

Awful, paid for a movie ticket to watch a movie, watched rushed season anime episode instead. Shading is ass, lineart as basic as DeviantArt fanarts.
And CSM only had artstyle going for it in the 1st season. With artstyle gone, this is garbage.

Managed to catch an early screening, 2 days ahead of the premier. Having already read the manga back when S1 aired, I knew I'd enjoy it since it's one of the better arcs IMO... but DAMN, Mappa truly went above and beyond animating this, I dread to think how many animators were overworked and didn't get to see their families because of this. Even some scenes of characters simply walking were quite detailed ("Blue Lock" and "One Punch Man" could NEVER).
I enjoyed this more than I did the recent Demon Slayer film (Which I also quite enjoyed), and right now with the hype I feel like this is truly a 10/10 film. Will see it again with friends next week, I don't imagine my rating would drop at worst to 9/10.

just got back from witnessing peak on the big screen, was an early screening. movie of the year, no contest and best anime movie made so far. the visuals were insane for an already insane arc. wanna rewatch this as soon as possible. even my anime-only friends were geeking over this, satisfying moment for me. fujimoto is winning big time, he's yet to get a single adaptation that isn't a masterpiece. might even be better than gintama; the final, but i'll have to rewatch that to make sure.

(edit on 26/10) just came back after rewatching it, it's a 12/10 adaptation and even better than the first watch. i'd put it in my favorites, but i don't have enough space. kensuke ushio deserves more appreciation too, he fucking COOKED.

I did a binge re-read of this arc just hours before seeing the movie so with it fresh in my mind, I was just blown away by how absolutely phenomenal this movie was. THIS is how you elevate source material. If you watched the Black Clover anime, you should know that Tatsuya Yoshihara is a clearly gifted director, and this man took on this assignment and said let me flex what I can REALLY do. And the animators clearly said that too, I've always had a love and respect for animation but the climax of the movie genuinely left me in awe at what feats are achievable when it comes to animation. Legitimately, the animators were on steroids. I need to let out a hearty FUCK A.I. and fuck anyone who supports the idea of A.I. being the future of anime production. Nothing will ever top the efforts of actual humans and the blood, sweat, and tears they put into putting something like this out into the world. What a film man. Not a movie, a film. People throw around the term "peak cinema" a lot but this was a movie that truly deserves that label. THIS was peak cinema, no question.

I will always love and defend season 1, and stand firm in my belief that the hate for it was corny and overblown, but this was a step up from S1 in every way imaginable. What a fantastic cinematic experience, if you have the means to do so, PLEASE see this in IMAX. You won't regret it.

Oh yeah one more thing, these guys really like using S1 ED3 as an insert song 💀

Sadly, in my country, Kazakhstan, we don't have any other choice but to watch it with a mediocre Russian dub, but it didn't ruin any of the emotional scenes. I could tell that they had tried hard to replicate the Japanese voices. I especially liked the voices of Reze and Kishibe in the Russian dub.

I really loved the film. They did an amazing job of adapting the manga. I can't wait for the BD release so I can watch the film again with the Japanese voice actors!

WOW !!! I was impressed by this part when I read the manga especially after Beam saved Denji until what was adapted in the movie, it was my favorite manga part from CSM back then, and now to see that they did it even better in the movie I'm speechles!!! That was an awesome experience at the cinema, not only that the animation is top-notch, they also perfectly nailed the artistic direction, OST etc, tbh everything was perfect in this movie I have no complaint. I hope we'll get more movies like this one because all of the wait was worth it!

Just returned from the cinema, watched it in 3D. Surprisingly good 3D I have to say, even in the fight scenes they did not disappoint.

Great movie, silent moments and good action. I really liked Reze, a shame she had to die in the end. Both her design and fighting style was really cool, was hoping they would add her as an additional devil. But I guess she was almost too strong for that.

I just finished watching the movie a few hours ago... and it was INSANE CINEMA from start to finish. MAPPA did a truly amazing job with some lovely little additions which I appreciate even more now after having read the whole manga (and the ongoing one too) the CGI was gone, pure caos fights!! Love it!

Don't waste this opportunity and go see it in the theater!

Just came back from the cinema. To describe this movie with one word.... pointless. MAPPA have done a godly job with the animation. Literarily the best piece of animation they have made. The story, character building and in general everything except the animation and choreography was garbage and it made me lose IQ. Thankfully I knew what I should expect so a an action anime movie, it is one of the best thing I have seen. Forgot to give the congrats to Reina Ueda for voicing Reze, she did an incredible job. Probably gonna make a full review here on mal

I NEED TO GO WATCH IT AT THE CINEMA AGAIN. Also watching the scene where they were at the cinema, AT the cinema was fun to me. Absolutely insane fight. The starting i did not expect but was definitely beautiful. EVERYTHING WAS BEAUTIFUL. At our movie hall everyone was focused watching the movie, at the end everyone clapped. Very satisfying. Very very, I love you tatsuki fujimoto as much as you love torturing us with your characters <3
