Well now we all know that a good wife is someone who breaks your bones ones you get back home!!

This anime was a lot of fun to watch i really enjoyed it and finally an anime that features mariage, tho it wasn't the only anime to feature birth this season.
The characters where fun tho i missed out on some that where introduced the first episode.

I’m pretty sure that was the Green haired lil brother character that broke his bones

The story is definitely on the weaker end but it ended happily with the bad guys and conflict being resolved through love and empathy instead of by normal means like through force. It was a nice change of pace compared to the regular stories. I was gonna give a 6/10 but I rate it 7/10 just for doing something different with the story than most animes would in this genre. The main character choosing monogamous marriage and immediately having a kid and then talking through things with enemies with love and compassion instead of through force are some unique twists you don't often see and it was a refreshing change of pace.

What it lacked for in story, it made up for with wholesomeness. 7/10 respectfully.

that ending was wonderful I wouldn't mind a sequel if there's any but for now I'm glad everything turn out well

That's the thing. It felt like a conclusive ending with most things worked out so unless there aren't a new major arc with added important plot/s there isn't a need for a second season.

That being said it connect to my only complaint that it is too short. It's a real shame it hadn't enough backing for a two cour season with everything more fleshed out because then I do believe it could have been a sleeper hit of the season.

Though I'd totally watch a second season anyway. I like chill fantasy/isekai anime with slice of life and romance driving the story as much as the main plot. 🙂

Perfect happy ending for Dariel and his family

I enjoyed watching this fantasy series. Dariel ended up getting banished from the Demon Army, got picked up by Marika and became an adventurer, later on married and had a son with Marika, and eventually met the new hero and the old hero and found out the old hero is his biological father. Pretty impressive for a 12 episode series IMO.

I do wish that this would've gone longer as there were some other interesting characters such as Doroye who supposedly liked Dariel, and also to show his son Gran grow up. Alantsil did get screwed by having been robbed of being around with Dariel growing up but now that he has a grandson he could be there for him so that would've been nice to see. I did not like what Bashubaza did and I would've liked to see how he atoned.

Anyways, I did enjoy what we got and I would watch a follow-up if one is made. In the meantime I may check out the manga. I thought the animation was ok, the character designs were fine, and I enjoyed the storyline and was surprised that Bashubaza was essentially given a second chance and didn't go to hell. Overall I give this a 8/10.

I hate being one of those guys... but yeah, uh, "the manga is better" definitely holds true here, unfortunately. Loads of stuff left out. overall glad to see it animated though, the mythril sword whip was well done, and the fights were okay.

Good start, but became quite annoying when there was a new character every episode, hero, old hero, demon lord, demon lord son.
Dariel and Malika were adorable unfortunately they were not the focus of this story and the romantic part felt a bit flat.

SPOILER:

Kind of funny how at the photo when they say that the family is all together and then the mom is just not there. I felt like she just served as Bashbarza's backstory and that's it. I thought it was good that he went off to figure out his own life now. If he just stayed I feel like he would always be reminded of the guilt and just wouldn't connect with Darius's crew on the level he needs. Good for him. I wonder if human/demon relations has relaxed throughout or not.

Thought for a second Dariel was gonna motorboat his wife's tits during that embrace near the end. Or maybe i was just hoping.

Also, it's funny that the one General chick that was looking for Dariel all this time, is practically the only one now, who doesn't know where he is.

Solid good anime. I just wish Doroye could have meet Dariel again since she was the only one of the 4 general who liked him from the start and acknowledge his good traits.

I am personaly not much into this type of drama (which involved Bashubaza) cause it´s cliche and usually uninteresting, but they managed to handle it in a solid way.

7/10

I don´t really think it´s necessary a second season cause this had a nice closure - so it´s unlikely it will happen, but if it ever happens I would be down for it.

May be a standard simple story with some generic elements to it, but I quite enjoyed it just like Dariel for the 'knockers'.
Still I got to say the '... no Slow na Second Life' in the title was a damn lie, our man constantly fighting out here.

Well the final battle wasn’t the greatest, some decent animation and the CGI dragon looked kinda goofy, but I still enjoyed it a lot. And yeah, I’m not the happiest with Bashbarza being redeemed but I’ll take it, it fits the overall lightheartedness of the show and I can’t lie when I say I enjoyed him holding Gran after all was said and done lol. And we got one last Malika tackle, although this time it was a gentle embrace into her booba which Dariel really appreciated, as did I lol. And with Bashbarza leaving on a journey and all the issues settled for now, it’s back to Dariel’s peaceful life as the village mayor with his beautiful wife and kid, definitely a nice place to end for this series.

And that was what I thought was a surprisingly good Sol/Fantasy show, it was a good time. Looking back on it, I wish I had picked this show instead of “Farming Life in Another World” in Winter 2023 lol, that one was going harder on the SoL which I usually appreciate but it had aspects that I wasn’t a fan of, this one didn’t really lose me in any respect for the most part, and as a fan of “Banished from the Hero’s Party” I really appreciated this one for its similar balance of action and SoL, and a good story to go with it. I was especially a fan of the plot regarding Dariel and his two dads, Alantsil and Granbarza going from cold hearted old men to two wholesome grandpas was just really nice lol.

There was unfortunately one thing I noticed as well as other folks that didn’t ever get followed up on, and it was the fact Doroye of the four generals never did find Dariel, a bit of a shame considering the fact Zebiantes found him but not her lol, but perhaps that’s a plot for hopefully another season. And I have a confident pick in best girl this time, and while I’d love to say Malika I have to go with Laidy, something about her just really hit with me, from her design to her personality, as well as her great moments in the show, Malika is pure greatness of course but Laidy won me over lol. Well here’s to hoping this one gets another season, I’d definitely watch it!

A pretty weak ending -or this whole arc with the red head. The guy spent most of his life hating the mc, trying to kill his family and destroy everything mc built up. On top of that cripples his kingdoms military force and loses their precious resources. Then its just wrapped up with an "I'm sorry" and everyone is happy... That was a bit difficult to accept.

Overall, enjoyed the show quite a bit up to this point. Really wanted to see the meeting with that only general girl who actually cared about the mc, but it didn't happen.

This episode was better than the previous 4 or so.

Brought back the feeling and quality that the initial leg had at its core.

I enjoyed it.

I'm always a sucker for the 'everyone wins' type of ending even though it may be cliche. I think for this anime, it probably benefited from it. I'm still not a fan of the whole "let's get married, have a kid and skip a year" approach they went for, but it wasn't terrible. Personally, I wish they'd still have given other characters a chance, to be honest. It's weird cause I'm not a fan of harem types, but in this case I would have really preferred closure on the whole Doroye thing BEFORE that happened.

For as much time and attention they gave to Dariel's relationship with Doroye, I was really expecting some type of closure between the two whether it was romantic or not.

I'd give it a 6.5/10 overall.

It had an interesting premise, not overly generic, but not necessarily anything stood out. It was a good watch though. I was watching while gaming or doing work and I think that's exactly the type of anime it is. I wouldn't go out and recommend this to everyone as a must watch, but if you got some free time and not everything you watch needs to be like a strong 8 or 9 out of 10, the anime does its job to be entertaining.
Touch me, you filthy casual~

And as usual everyone lives together happily after, not the most exciting ending, but rather an expected one.

I actually would've preferred if the red-haired son stayed incompetent and more of a comedic relief until the end. Also the blonde one had no role to play at all in anything, so that was weird. First half was quite good and funny, second half got way too serious for this kind of show. 6/10

I don’t really want to criticize the final episode, to be honest—but overall, it was boring.

The only thing I truly liked about the anime was Millika. The rest? You can toss it in the trash—it just wasn’t up to the quality I expected.

A close friend of mine recommended this anime to me, and I watched it based on his suggestion. He told me there are way more details in the novel or manga—whichever it was, I’m not sure.

6/10. Let’s wrap things up with the best shots and the most beautiful frame.

Also btw, since both Aura and Magic are hereditary have they tried just.. you know crossbreeding. If the differences between their nearly identical species are such a big deal wouldn't they be easy to overcome with assimilation.
For such a supposed "good father" he really has a messed up family, barely seeing his son is one thing. But I the wife is also hella toxic.
Anyways the ending felt forced but it's okay overall. And satisfying in it's own right.

In the sea of garbage anime, I enjoyed this rare good one. It had some emotional moments as well, and the ending left you feeling good for the MC's future.

Personally, I don't see any reason for season 2. This is pretty much the perfect ending to this story.

Great wish-fulfillment anime. Something simple, wholesome, and heartwarming.

They knew their weakness was action and avoided it as long as they could. The final battles were always going to be disappointing. The only scene I didn't like was the "How to Train Your Dragon" one where he holds out his hand, and Salamandra just flies away. Like what.

The point of anime like this is never so much a focus on world-building, politics, battles, narrative, etc. It's generally all about the vibes. Some are better than others (By the Grace of the Gods and Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear are boring as hell), and different anime will mix different elements in there like comedy, romance, or ecchi. The focus here was a middle-aged man coming back from nothing and rebuilding the kind of life he always wanted. It does that in spades.

I highly doubt the writing would hold up enough to really support more, but that is my biggest complaint. More romance, more fanservice, show more of the period where Marika's pregnant, bring Doroye into the mix, more hijinks with Radey's training, more questing, etc. In terms of narrative it really makes no sense that Bashverza or Alanzir change or that Bashverza is redeemed, but again atmosphere and theme override in these kinds of simple stories.

9/10. I pray for Dariel's shattered pelvic bone. Gran is my spiritual son.

@Darkdaxter Yeah like I said "that's one thing" as in that's not the worst part, but his wife being pretty toxic is kind of even worse.
Just saying that the praise is quite high for a situation that unstable/messed up. My mother's father wasn't around much either because of his job, now that doesn't make him a "bad father" but well that's just one of the many reasons that side of the family is kind of messed up. So I certainly wouldn't say he's the "best" or a "great father" at all either. He was in some aspects of course but even if your job takes up a lot of time it's about what you do with the time you do have with your family and even in that regard I feel like it's part of the issue. Like he was good at saving his kid's lives when they did stupid stuff, but I think he lacked affection, being a good example and from what I heard at least could explode/get angry quite a bit.
Now obviously this is just a show so "it's not that deep" but I personally would say I am lucky to have a much better father than most who has one of the healthiest marriages I've ever seen. So despite the factors he couldn't do anything about "not being home is one thing" the factors he could do something about didn't seem that great either. Not bad, but... certainly not what I'd describe as like "the best dad" or a "great dad"

I understand what you're saying. Sacrificing for your family is important, but making time for your family is even more important. I just felt like people weren't taking into account the actual reason he was absent for so long. And it's a good excuse.

I'm honestly pretty jealous then. My dad didn't go on business trips, but he was always working. The time I did manage to spend (by doing sports that I hated), he always made it clear that I was a disappointment and not worth the time he spent.

@Darkdaxter Yeah I'm not trying to imply that he was a terrible parent or anything and That sucks to hear, I don't like sports either, that's sadly an all too common mistake parents make. Putting burden on their children, like that of their own life or dreams.
No one can even carry the weight of their own soul, dreams and expectations let alone that of anyone else.
I often view myself as a disappointment, but yes I'm lucky to have parents that don't see me as such and remind me of the things I do have.
Though I don't know you personally the best I can do is try and pass that sentiment along. You can disappoint people including yourself, but I hope you can perhaps find comfort in knowing that you can't do anything that would ever make you a disappointment. Well at least that's what I believe,
There's nothing you can do to "save yourself" or "add value to yourself" or "become worthy" but equally there's nothing you can do to diminish or remove the inherent worth, value and love you have. Unconditional Love might seem weird or counter intuitive at first but, it's the only the way. If people had to be saved or proof their value with their actions or abilities, we'd all be doomed even the best of us.
