It was interesting how Monica was able to solve the case on who dropped the flower pot and also Cyril finding out what really happened when Monica slid down the stairs. Speaking of Cyril, what's up with his eyes turning red and him looking confused? Guessing some kind of mind control is going on...

Good episode. I don't know who I like more, Monica or Isabelle. The scene where Isabelle was pretending to be the villain was just so good. I love her

The case solved faster than expected, still dk why she was chosen to investigate though. Kinda feel bad for the girl, good she only got light punishment. Someone is mind controlling them and next is Cyril probably.

The way Monica just fall backwards after being made treasurer was so hilarious. Even if everything fails her faces enough to carry this anime. And except Bocchi the Witch Isabelle have to best character with her oscar worthy acting. And did Lena just called that girl fat ass 😭😭
Much better episode...

this does seem like a fun show but at the same time the glimpes weve been give make me think that parts of this will be very predictable or atleast when revelealed, not surprise at all.

someone is seemingly mind controlling people, even the silver hair boy was being controlled. currently that one student council guy who doesnt like mc seems to be made to be suspicious on purpose.

Bocchi the Witch? Nah, more like Bocchi the Stonks!

It's so heartwarming seeing Monica act like such a doofus around everyone due to her shyness. I feel a bit bad for her but her reactions are priceless. Her calculations are fast as well knows how to be evasive and read the room when it could cost her something in the future. Cyril on the other hand has a mysterious character around him, the way he's releasing aura and how he changed his path in the middle of the night twice makes me think he's being influenced by something. For know, the way Monica was able to figure out what Selma was doing was the highlight from the episode for me.

Keep her being precious.

Just watched the last two episodes and it's interesting to see what they didn't include from the novel. So far so good though, still.

There's definitely some kind of mind control at work. Given context it sounds like we're supposed to be most suspicious of the professor.

The scene with Isabel was cute but silly -- she was obviously trying to be overheard acting the villain but then transitions into praise without lowering her voice or moving away from the door.

The "guilty" girl's eyes also glowed red like she was being controlled, right? Or did I just imagine that? Not a huge fan of mind control as a plot device.

What the hell is this production team doing?

They skipped the archive scene, and the debate about Monica during first student council meeting, which is kind of a huge omission.

Those two scenes together were what clearly defined Bridget's character and the way she regards Monica. Skipping the archive scene also means skipping
's introduction, so not only is it gonna be real awkward when he finally shows up out of nowhere, it also means that we're skipping the showcase of just how cunning and cautious the prince can be. Likewise, we don't get the practical demonstration of just how far Monica can retreat into her world of numbers when antagonized directly.

All the omissions are, at best, causing the show to give only vague definitions to each character and giving them the screen presence of background characters, and at worst, mischaracterizing them entirely. "Oh, you could spot the errors on those three pages? Congrats, you're our new Treasurer!" Amazing, way to make the prince seem like an impulsive fool.

Most everything else about the production is fine, but the sheer amount of content they keep skipping in every episode is definitely screwing with the pacing and characterization, to the point where even my watchalong buddy who hasn't read any of the source material can tell the pacing is a total mess.

My rant about the pacing aside.... Monica is still an adorable bean, Cyril and Lana are being handled nicely, and Isabelle continues to be the best wingwoman. That she keeps an entire crate of worn teacups explicitly for the purpose of breaking against the floor is just wonderful. A small bit that was cut there was where she gives Monica a short lecture about proper technique for breaking teacups so that the sound carries really well -- you gotta make sure to throw it at a hard surface; carpet just dampens the sound!

@Mattinator95 I think that was actually an error in the subtitles -- If I recall correctly, it wasn't her handwriting he was noticing something odd about.

Inspector Monika resolved the mystery behind Felix's attack and got a new job at the student council; that's a huge win for her! Cyril may have a dark secret, but I'm not sure if he chose to have it because Cyril seems to be pretty nice so I didn't see it like a bad person right now!

@pir0zhki i guess i wasnt paying any attention and was too excited by the adaptation. But with this pacing it'd be easier to end it in 12 episodes.

But anyways nice observation.

I absolutely love Atsumi Tanezaki's ojou-sama performance in this show. Absolutely hilarious and great display of her VA chops.
The piano piece playing during Cyril and Monica's was very pleasant to listen to as well. If anyone has a track title drop, that'd be greatly appreciated.

Watching this has gotten me to reminisce to thoughts of similarities in thoughts. By the numerically fixed mathematics process.

That she holds herself too.
Usually seen here as simple geometry.
Yes... I understand that for most its actually not simplistic.

And recall that was the only discipline in 'math".
That ever had me thinking in terms of its subject matter.

As it was closer to my normal. Of controlled route mutable variables.
In expressions of boolean logic, with multiple separate set, unset, defined, or hidden and calculable. Emparsement.

I know I can look back to my ancestors.
And see that they too "thought" in the same way as myself.

I'm just the first to have such a well established deviation from 2000 years of mathematical proofs. And instead was intentionally maneuvered away from that field. And into the much easier overall for myself one of engineering.

Monica's tendency to practically see the numbers in all things.
And, doing so visibly. Is obviously a measure of stress.

I remember doing the same thing when faced with 'Maths'.
Its what that level of intelligence appears like.

On handling something step by step.
When you already know how to defense a proof.
That you did not write. Nor can at glance express the compilation between your recognition of input and output.

Ie she consistently shows
- A terminal thought process
And she fails to hold back her inner voice
- On recognizing the presence of an incorrect/non-quit value
Ie in the accounts of the student council.

She clearly interprets. The strings set by previous Treasury students.
As just as valuable as the nums that "go" alongside them.

Especially considering it is shown as a ledger.
Lacking any way to recursively express propagation.
For how the books were made to be filled in each entry for each this variable's variant. And subsequent outer scope of the book, its timeline (of execution history), nor how the values appeared to become registered originally. Ie from student addition lacking anything more than debits to accounts. With a possibility of everything being run and registered successfully. When in reality, said system seen for a thousand years or so.
Always was less effective than keeping purchasing orders (receipts) or drafting some sort of trade agreement, contract.

As was the norm even in the United States less than a century ago.
Probably less than even my grandparents generation.

Monica's plight of how she jumps to her happy place.
Gets more realistic as episodes draw on.

The higher her level of expressed mathematics.
The more of "her". We get to see bubbling out.

If she can conquer her social anxiety.
By the end of this season.

I feel strongly that people will start to see her re-orienting.
Towards the definition structure that most people like her.
Are taught at a young age in the modern world.

Analogous assignment, triplets passthrough parameter, and a mutability in all things. Which is the de facto way to express something to someone... Who well doesn't see what she can. And where absence of that insight. Is a constant barrier to anyone in communication. Through lacking an equal way to elevate someone else. Through your own superior ability to create a way to succeed in expressing the result. At times in a completely natural manner far lowered than the way you actually reached said conclusions.

I'm looking forward to seeing her reach that point.
Because its completely doable within the shows runtime.

And while I never, personally, had to become Monica in action.
Learning these mechanisms at a young age through medical intervention.
I 100% relate to that type of person. And usually seeing them depicted accurately. Is engaging enough. To watch the whole run in any media.

@pir0zhki It felt like it flows well with the cuts they made. Maybe they're receiving instructions from the author? And plan to entirely make changes. Based on the sources 'directors cut" options. When production for this is able to provide.

@waldy713 Myself and one other that I know have been separately watching along with individuals who have no familiarity with the source material, and in both cases, they're finding the storyboarding to be disjointed and confusing, and it's consistently due to missing context from cut content.

Watching this adaptation feels like running down a bullet list of plot points that the story is rushing to get through, without giving any single part the opportunity to really simmer and develop itself, and without giving any of the characters the time needed to properly characterize them. Episodes 1 and 6 so far are the only ones that felt properly paced. The show isn't bad, and that i can say confidently -- but it's nowhere near as good as it should be.

Monica seeing Selma being bullied by the real villains of jealous girls with Count Norn's daughter Caroline Simmons at the helm, and in the same way, gets pushed down a flight of stairs, right towards vice-president Cyril Ashley, whom she tries to address the misunderstanding but to no avail. The thing is, despite Monica's own investigation, Felix is having a similar dilemma of his own as it puts his reputation at stake, though the little squirrel soon scouts Selma out for both related incidents, as is the evidence of naturally observing and interrogating her, which she soon lambasted in agony for protection of her fiancé a.k.a the student council treasurer, Aaron. And Monica seeing the inaccuracies of the student council records...gets called out by Felix to be the new treasurer?

Sure, Monica did the job in a day's worth than what the rest of the student council could do, but Cyril getting headaches out of nowhere, and Isabelle keeping up her usual villainous noble lady appearance to the little squirrel, everything seems like the troubles are dealt with, even for Lana. But in terms of being treasurer, Cyril is still Monica's advisor that's requested by Felix, though it's a high mountain to climb and trying to overcome her past.

The secrets of Cyril is beginning to wane the mystery of the Academy...

And more of the overplayed trope of every high ranking boy in school running into MC girl and liking her. Well not liking but I doubt that they wont in the future..

I think Im close to dropping this if this doesnt become fun or exciting. Because so far it does not fill the CGDCT niche either..

The worst thing of all: The entire setting full with entitled noble girls and we still dont get the "Ohoho" laugh.

Seriously she throws away her gloves which have her branding? Middle school setting...
