| What an awesome OP, first of all. The ED wasn't too bad either. I'm glad to see a return to this series, it seems like the sort of thing that would get one season and then fade into flavor-of-the-month history, but the chemistry between Jinshi and Maomao is just too good to pass up on. In this episode, we learn of Jinshi's attempts to increase literacy in the rear palace and gain a cute cat named after our main character . This episode seems more focused on easing us into the next season, with a mysterious pair of twins(?) joining us in the next episode and the majority of the runtime focused on short fluff pieces. |
| How does Maomao not like cats?! She's a cat herself! The little princess is sooooo cute aw. She's a little bean. Its really sad how people are already looking down on her when she's just a baby :( Gyokuyou is so smart for thinking ahead and asking Maomao to teach her what she knows. ED was pretty mid, but the OP was fun! The new character seems like she'll be fun. I wonder what the caravan is about...2 blonde ladies... So glad everyone was back! |

| Glad to see Maomao back on screen, after starting my binge of the second season with the finale coming up. Looks like she is still sharp as ever, and love to see her friendship with Xiaolan who is taking on her on learning how to read and write. Not to mention the new cat that they pick up ends up being named Maomao as well, so now we have two Maomaos. |
| Xiaolan is so cute when she's enthusiastic to learn. Can't believe they also name the cat Maomao lol. The new maid character appeared briefly, and a beautiful blonde is appearing next episode. I wonder if she's a delegate from a foreign country? |

| Finally got time to watch the 2nd season. It's so nice to see Maomao and Jinshi again. Gyokuyou is pregnant and Lingli is capable of walking. Lingli wanted a kitten, and the Emperor named it Maomao. Maomao doesn't like cats. Jinshi didn't either, until Maomao explained the attractiveness of cats. He feels like her explanation of cats is similar to her. Court ladies are learning to read and write. |

| I wonder who that purple haired and green eyed servant girl is. She seems important. I'm excited to meet the new caravan girls; they look so pretty. The cat could've been better designed. 4/5 |
