Finally, Lilisa and Otoha on the same page in the band. I mean, yeah they need more band members but it's a start.

That new girl Arisu is a funny one. She loves cats and seems to resent Lilisa. It's a slow start but Lilisa and Otoha and building a partnership.

Weekly dose of my rock lesbians! Another banger episode from anime of the season. Last week marked the start of the band, but now it’s time for the girls to get some experience playing with other people! It also wouldn’t be a music anime without the sibling haters to lovers trope lol. Always has to be a younger sibling who acts like they hate their older sibling and end up admiring them and wanting to be closer.

Alice comes off like a massive bitch and don’t get me wrong, calling Lilisa’s mom pathetic was way out of line, but I guarantee she’s gonna have a strong admiration deep down for Lilisa and she’s probably gonna end up being upset that Lilisa just takes all these orders from her mom without questioning them. I’ve seen this trope too many times to believe she actually wants Lilisa out the house. I got so much anxiety when she pulled up to the abandoned school building, good thing Otoha had a scout on standby lol!

Speaking of Otoha, we got our SECOND lesbian awakening of the season, this time with Otoha and Alice. Too bad Alice doesn’t know how much of a degenerate and weirdo Otoha is πŸ˜‚ just a few mins earlier she’s talking about how she’ll play with anyone as long as they’re rough and dirty and “to be honest that jam session we had was the first time I got down and dirty with someone” LMAOOO yea I’m keeping the rockgasm nickname for their performances. This girl is GAY.

Going back to Lilisa’s mom tho, honestly Lilisa does need someone to push her to stand up for herself because I cringed so much from that opening dialogue where the mom told her to not embarrass the family with rock music anymore. People think they want to be from rich famous families, but no you don’t. The toxicity and expectation to confirm is so bullshit. This series should inspire everyone to get out and be themselves.

Didn’t expect the band they’re performing with to be a percussion band with old guys in it lol, that should be fun. Can’t wait for the next episode! These always go by so quickly 😩 tryna hold off on the manga till the season over but may cave. Love this show sm.

Big cliffhanger after the ED i wonder how this will go.
The girls heading out for their first concert and the first time playing in a group not to mention a different style of music than they are used to.
Looks like next week will be interesting.

So Alice really wants to "protect" her father against Ririsa and her mother... she's annoying, anyway now the two main girls are going to participate in a concert with an orchestra especially that Ririsa will have to play the bass this time, they managed to avoid being caught by Alice fortunately but she definitely has more plans to ruin Ririsa's reputation since she's going to the concert with that Hiyori girl now :S

The start of the episode was kinda wild—it felt like the instructor was low-key edging just from hearing Alice play. And then Lilisa’s mom acting like a complete maniac—no doubt she’s crazy under that sweet facade. Demanding Lilisa to act like some obedient little puppet? Yeah, no thanks.

Alice needs to chill a little—hating on Lilisa and her mother like that. Yeah, it’s understandable they barged into her house out of nowhere, but isn’t her dad just as much at fault for being a horndog and marrying another woman?!

I’m seriously curious about Lilisa’s past—what really went down between her father and mother? I need some reason to justify all this hate, lol.

Otoha is something else—a total beast. When she talked about that jam session with Lilisa, it sounded like she was having an orgasm or something. And with the way bodily fluids are always splattered around after their sessions, I honestly wouldn’t be surprised. Then she’s like, “I’d be happy to jam with anyone, as long as it’s rough and dirty”—I can’t even tell if she meant it literally or if she even caught what Lilisa meant back there.

I’m definitely looking forward to Lilisa and Otoha’s concert next week. Also curious what kind of favor Hiyori asked from Alice.

Arisu is spiteful toward her step-family (rightfully so in the case of her step-mother), but she sure is so adorable and wholesome when it comes to Kuroneko!

I actually feel disappointed with the relationship within the Suzunomiya family right now.

At a time like this Arisu should be more respectful and at least be polite to her step-sister, even a year has passed this relationship has not improved. I hope their relationship will gradually improve no matter what the situation is in the future.

And also there is the first stage appearance for Lilisa and Otoha, a little nervous does not affect them to stop here. This is a good opportunity for them as a beginner band to show off and to find new members for their band.

I was wondering for the first three episodes how a mother could subject her child to what can only be described as abuse 24/7 only for it to turn out that she is partaking in the abuse as well. And shouldn’t a violin teacher know that someone doesn’t become a master violinist in a year?
I have to put this show down for a few weeks, it’s way too toxic for me to stomach right now.

@Vizvezdenec I just find Lilisa’s situation to be abusive, plain and simple. And by putting it down for a few weeks, it fits in with a pledge I made to be more mental health conscious about the anime I watch.

Things got tense with Alice, who almost found out her stepsister secret, but actually considering the cliffhanger, she might really find out after all.
Loved seeing the girls looking to play for the first time in front of a crowd and joining a band for the occasion.

The episode where they ran out of budget? Full of static shots and pans, plus only a few seconds of mocap'ed instrument playing. And it looked as though they couldn't even animate the violin teacher's lip flaps in one cut, but I guess her dialog could have been internal. Anyway, I suppose we can't expect something like last week in every episode.

I’m not sure what exactly happened with Lilisa and her mother before joining the Suzumiya family, but it must have been something deeply impactful—especially for her mother. I understand why they’re pretending and lying for the sake of being part of a prestigious family now, but between themselves? That feels strange. I still don’t know what to think about Lilisa’s mom. On one hand, she seems scared of being abandoned or left alone because of what happened with Lilisa’s father. On the other hand, she comes across as manipulative, prioritizing her place in the family over her daughter’s feelings.

Those two at a symphony? I doubt they’ll keep up appearances. And the symphony leader’s words about giving it their all—well, they’ll probably take it to the extreme.

So far, Arisu has been the most rational one at school and the only one who sees through Lilisa’s lies. Her rejection of Lilisa and her stepmother is understandable to some extent—the attachment to her father and her past life makes it hard for her to accept them. However, based on the opening, it seems like what happens in the next episode will drastically change her attitude toward Lilisa.

It felt like we got some good story progression this episode. I'm glad they are branching out and trying out playing in different bands. Hopefully we get to hear their performance next time to see how they sound in a different style. The sister is definitely about to find out the truth so it will be interesting seeing how she reacts. Given the focus of the series I an assuming she will join the band? Otherwise, we will definitely at least get an arc of acceptance towards her sister.

I just feel bad for Lilisa more and more each time. Her mother is abusing, her sister hates her while she have to work hard to maintain her standards. Now I actually glad Otoha dragged her into this atleast one way she can some joy.

I can see why you would be hostile to your new step family sometimes and she's still a kid so I refrain from judging soon. She do has point about Lilisa being her mother's puppet. You don't have to give up shit because of your parents..

Alice probably gonna find their secret or megane girl will save again.
But this peaceful band has no idea what these two cute degenerates are capable off. I am so looking forward to see how it goes..

Nice use of default MuseScore engraving on that violin sheet music. Never thought I'd be able to spot precisely what notation program the anime studio used. Not only that, I could very easily find the exact sheet music that is available on MuseScore. They did some edits with the title and composer, weirdly enough they somehow removed the treble clef in that process. Other than that, the notation is identical, which can only happen by downloading existing sheet music, especially for something as detailed as that.

Lilisa can also rock the bass guitar huh, pretty epic, I need to hear her rip the opening notes of “The Other One” lol, but I’m sure I’ll be thinking that more for the actual bass player coming later in the season. Very interesting that the first live gig Lilisa and Otoha are playing is with a symphonic band tho, definitely wasn’t expecting that, but I’m wondering how it’s gonna turn out, will these two be too rocking for this group or nah lol, but it should be a good experience for them, this will probably be a good showing to Alice of what Lilisa is truly about.

And speaking of Alice, a lot of focus on her in this one, she was very mean to Lilisa but she does have a soft side like with the kitten, and I absolutely knew she would be led to Lilisa and Otoha by said kitten, pretty convenient way for Alice to nearly find out about Lilisa’s secret but at least Otoha covered it up, good thing Alice’s uncultured rich brain didn’t put together why there was a drum kit in there lol. And damn that bit with Lilisa’s mom at the start of the episode was kinda spooky, I fear the day she finds out what Lilisa is doing, but maybe that’s exactly what she needs, same with Alice.

Yeah, I was hoping Lilisa was doing that lady stuff of her own volition, but it would seem her mum's a bitch.

Predictable and convenient episode otherwise, from the plot purpose of the cat to Alice's friend's favour.

It's kind of sad. Her mother is so desperate to fit in she is going to slowly grow estranged to Lilisa.

Arisu almost caught Lilisa red-handed, but even though Lilisa dodged that bullet it seems events have conspired to give Arisu another shot.

Okay, so I loved this episode because both of our heroines have finally taken a step forward toward their united dream: a dome performance at the end of the road in front of a 70k audience, as far as I can remember.

Putting their dream aside, I loved the scene when Lilisa asked Otoha how she knew Alice was coming, with Otoha's reply being "It's a secret," and her spy immediately following Alice back, as if she were trailing her. Obvious much, Otoha? Haha.

In any case, I'm really excited about their performance inside the venue. I'm 100% sure Otoha and Lilisa are going to outshine the other members, but I'm still excited because I'm really curious whether our two heroines are actually going to shout slurs post-performance, as it's their usual routine, or if they'll be able to keep their emotions in check and not do so for the first time. Haha.

I love that Alice's biggest issue with Lilisa (aside from wanting her dad to herself) is how obvious it is that she and her mother are faking it. I'm hoping we get a full 180 on her attitude as soon as Lilisa goes public with her rock obsession.

I'm also loving how this episode just goes ahead and makes the subtext of Lily's and Oto's names the text. Why not?

Oh Lilisa's mother is actually quite scary, I wonder what happened to Lilisa's father(?) that she seems to hate guitar and rock so bad.

I thought Lilisa and Otoha would at least disguise themselves given their status but they just went straight up without, and I was hoping to see Lilisa without her Ojou-sama twintails! Now she's gonna get caught by Alice.

Does that amateur symphonic orchestra really want a substitute bass (guitar) player, rather than a (double) bass player? Not nearly the same, but Shuri (Rupa from GBC) can play both.

Anyhow, if Lilisa and Otoha need a bassist and a keyboard player to complete the band, they can just google for Beni-Shouga ... which comes with the aqdded benefit of continously fluid and expressive 3D CGI animation, instead of this episode's Powerpoint slideshow seemingly running on a 25MHz i386SX... If not for the seiyuus effort, Rock is a Lady's Hobby project would have collapsed already.

No new members yet, but our girls got an upcoming gig, and ofc, by the Mother of all Faith, Arisu will be attending the show too, although with a friend of her own, it seems?
